my only bet is Cub Swanson

Yup same.  Too bad he lost vs a guillotine on the second round.  Sucks...  But the good thing about it is we have new blood rising.  I'm looking forward in seeing Ortega take one or two more fights before challenging for the belt.

Anyway, here are results of the event:

I might skip this Ortega vs Swanson card, betting wise. A lot of the names fighting have never fought UFC level competition before. Others like Antonio Braga Neto haven't fought since 2014 due to recurring injuries. The more unknown variables present the more difficult it can be to predict an outcome which can be bad for gambling. On the other hand, sometimes cards with unknown fighters are easier to predict due to skill disparity better known and unknown fighters.

I think some of the underdogs like Frankie Saenz, Antonio Braga Neto and maybe a few others might be favorites. Sometimes oddsmakers have information gatherers in MMA gyms and the industry who feed them inside info. That can make it tough to go against the odds and call a flip where the numbers might be backwards.

Is anyone planning to bet this card? Good luck and tell me how you do.

And I wonder where the hell is krack.  He stopped betting on MMA?  I miss his fight analysis.  Hope he comes back.  Stop by his site, https://degenbet.com/ and give it more hits yo!  That could encourage him.

I visited his site. It says: "account suspended".  Sad

Thread update guys!  Check the first post.  We are now starting the discussions for Swanson vs Ortega and others for the UFC fight Night 123.

Here are a couple of videos to start.  Enjoy and have fun.  Wink

Toe to Toe Picks - Cub Swanson vs. Brian Ortega (UFC Fight Night 123)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd9q1I8dkfo

The odds on both are very close.  1.96 for Swanson and 1.91 for Ortega (lines taken from Nitrogen, as usual).  That's basically 50/50 odds imo.  I like Swanson to win this tho.

It seems that people are more being drawn to take Swanson for this fight.
According to the talk on most of the sportsbook gambling chat rooms that I frequented since last night.

This should be a good match and might put Ortega into retirement. Grin

After beating Alistair Overeem in a very convincing fashion, Francis Ngannou wants to fight Brock Lesnar. Ngannou wants to make money right away but I don't think Brock Lesnar is ready to make a come back at UFC. Brock is not as bad ass as he is before, he is just big and that it, he lost to 2 good strikers Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem.

@SaShiRaJaVu. Khabib will win if he can make the weight hehehe. Maybe he should stop eating his favorite desert, the tiramizu while he is in training.

In any case, the odds are not out yet. Let us see what the sportsbooks give both fighters. But I reckon Khabib will be the big favorite.

Next fight is UFC 219 scheduled December 30 at T-Mobile arena Las Vegas. I checked the list of fighters booked for UFC 219, aside from the main event the fight of Carlos Condit and Neil Magny is worth watching other fights I have to check their back ground and watch their previous fight. I'll go with Chris Cyborg and Carlos Condit.
This is the next major pay per view ,in the mean time there will be many televised fights too,UFC 219 is going to be another interesting card, with Khabib Nurmagomedov coming back and he is facing Edson Barboza a pure striker and he has some of the highlight reel round kick knock outs and it will be a good fight without a doubt, then there will be fighters being fed to Cyborg or does Holly shocks the world again . I use this wiki page to check for upcoming UFC events(also to look @ stats for past events):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UFC_events

There is also one for bellator events:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bellator_MMA_events

Next UFC event is Cub Swanson versus Brian Ortega on december 9th. Brian Ortega has a habit of losing the first two rounds in his recent UFC appearances before finishing his opponent in the 3rd round. Its something that happened repeatedly with Ortega's fights against Thiago Tavares, Renato Moicano and also Clay Guida if I remember right.

Alexis Davis, Albert Morales, Frankie Saenz and Alejandro Perez could all be fighters who once looked like good prospects but appear to be on a decline.

Marlon Moraes fought John Dodson on november 11th, here he is fighting again about a month later against Aljamain Sterling.

@nydiacaskey01. I disagree. It was not Max's better game plan that gave him the win, but Jose Aldo's declining performance and his abuse of using performance enhancing substances in the past.

Most Brazilian MMA fighters are known to use it, from Royce Gracie to Anderson Silva to Cris Cyborg. Maybe all of them hehe.

You forgot Wanderlie.  Grin

Maybe its one factor why Jose Aldo has been declining although hats off to Max for his amazing work rate in the fight. MMA fighters are really evolving and the old schools can't cope up with them. I didn't watch the fight but I look a few highlights in Youtube and as Aldo trying to really go toe to toe, Max striking really shows and Aldo can't do anything about it. There were kicks but its not as it used to be and Max caught a few.

@nydiacaskey01. Jose Aldo can if he tries to use all his tools like the leg kicks, his powerful takedowns and also if he uses his head movement more. We did not see any of that in the first fight, and I hope he learned from his mistakes and uses them again.
He tried his best to out perform Halloway but I guess Halloways fight plan is better than Aldo. First few minutes of the fight is all Aldo, after that its Halloway all the way. Its like Halloway observe Aldo first then wait for the right moment to strike. Too bad for Aldo, I thought he can pull a win for this fight with Halloway to make way for a possible trilogy.

Only serp posting picks. A lot of people used to post picks here. Where did they all go?   Huh  I haven't paid much attention to this card. Usually I do research and sometimes I'll watch tape of previous fights to break things down better. This time, I did none of those things and so my picks may not be reliable. Still, if I had to choose it would look something like this.

Quote
Max Holloway > José Aldo
Alistair Overeem < Francis Ngannou
Henry Cejudo > Sergio Pettis
Eddie Alvarez < Justin Gaethje
Tecia Torres < Michelle Waterson

Charles Oliveira < Paul Felder
Alex Oliveira > Yancy Medeiros
David Teymur > Drakkar Klose
Felice Herrig < Cortney Casey

Abdul Razak Alhassan > Sabah Homasi
Jeremy Kimball > Dominick Reyes
Justin Willis > Allen Crowder
Amanda Cooper > Angela Magaña

8-5 on the night ^. Maybe 9-4 if judges made a mistake awarding Felice Herrig a decision over Cortney Casey. Not a bad night for me. Very happy to be wrong about Eddie Alvarez and Yancy Medeiros losing their fights, I like both of those guys.

I normally don't post my picks, I don't like people tailing my plays in case I make a mistake.

Yancy Medeiros vs Alex Oliveira and Eddie Alvarez vs Justin Gaethje were both crazy fights. Its ridiculous to see how much cardio and toughness MMA fighters have when they have good diets, healthy lifestyles, don't do drugs and train properly. It was almost like watching superheros fight in a movie.

Poor Aldo.  It's time for him to retire now.  And I made a small bet for him too.  I really thought it would be a different fight.  It ended up exactly the same as their last one.  Lol.
Aldo started really well and was winning the first two rounds and then he faded away ,Max Holloway dominating the division now and i am impressed with Francis Ngannou knocking out the Reem in the first round and Justin Gaethje tasting his first defeat in his pro career .It was a really good card and good fights over all.

fighter who lose from mcgregor become sucks and aldo is one of the example.
Max Holloway is one fighter who lost his last fight against McGregor and he is undefeated in 12 fights after that. Tongue

It was a clear victory for blessed max and yeah i agree, after the losses that jose aldo suffered, he's done. It would be best to hang up his gloves now. The heavyweight fight was sick and that last punch by ngannou was cringeworthy. Stipe should probably go down to light heavyweight after seeing this lol
