@btc_angela. Fighting Nate Diaz is high reward but also high risk for Conor. If you watch their 2 fights again, you would see that Conor was not dominating them. There was also the likelihood that he would have also lost the 2nd fight. Watch it.

Also, if Conor plans to fight the winner of Tony vs Khabib then he should wait and not fight Nate.

Big news coming from Khabib. He gave a clue on Instagram that he will be announcing his next fight, maybe  by the end of the month!

I speculate that it will be versus Tony Ferguson. I also read that Dana White again has a sudden interest in it. But where is Conor? Is UFC money now too cheap for him?

He's probably enjoying too much of his money now. LOL.

I'm sure that Khabib vs Tony is being on the works by Dana. That's what the fans is all been waiting for. Its long overdue.
And then Conor vs Nate 3. Low risk but good returns for Conor. We all know that both of them have big mouths. They can really sell the fight and close the book with that trilogy.

@SaShiRaJaVu. Conor versus Nate Diaz 3 will only be as compelling to watch if Conor is a champion. I reckon that it might be better for him to be stripped off his belt, then come back and challenge the winner of Tony Ferguson versus Khabib. If he wins that, then his next fight should be versus Nate. That would be the best set up for me.

Conor has a history of not defending any of his belts,if you look back his championship history he never defended any of his belts he won in Cage Warriors as well as in the UFC and i see Connor being stripped off his title and Khabib and Tony will be fighting for the real belt and he will be coming back to fight Nate Diaz as that is the money fight for him and then he will figure out something else.

Very interesting post analysis. I think Khabib built his own style though and wasn't aware of the methods used by the 3 grappling greats mentioned in the video. Scary though is Khabib keeps evolving, interested to see Khabib vs Ferguson, yeah, its gonna be hard to see who is going to win that one.
Yeah I know, but sometimes it is fun to watch  Grin. My dad who is 60 years old, has been watching WWE since the beginning and is still a big fan.
Do you have any idea what you are talking about ,this is not a thread about acting or professional wrestling and MMA is about legit mixed martial arts and here you are talking about WWE  Cheesy Cheesy ,make sure you reply to threads you know about or at least spend time in searching about it in google before you input your views.

@babygun. It was Floyd's strategy to let Conor gas out and expend all his energy in the earlier rounds. Everyone is aware that it is also Conor's weakness in the UFC. Watch Conor's fights versus Nate Diaz and you will see what I mean. Floyd used Conor's weakness against him.

To be honest I haven't watched many of Conor his matches (only his knockouts lol). Probably you are right in everything. Maybe I watched to many WWE matches to think that the boxing match was also staged  Cheesy.

We understand where you coming from mate, but please stay away watching WWE. That's for kids, not for hard core fans.  Grin

Here's a nice post fight study video featuring Khabib Nurmagomedov.  It looks like McGregor is gonna have his hands full vs him.  If it's Khabib vs Ferguson tho, I think it's gonna be a coin flip.

Enjoy!  Smiley

@babygun. No the boxing match was definitely not staged. You are also wrong with Floyd knocking out Conor in the earlier rounds if he wanted to because Floyd is not known to do that. He is a tactical fighter who adjusts to his opponents' weaknesses.

With Conor, Floyd knew that he will get tired in the later rounds.

You could be right, but I just got that impression. I am still convinced that the match could have ended quicker, but maybe Mayweather prolonged the fight to entertain the fans, like Baofeng says.

@nydiacaskey01. I reckon no. Floyd Mayweather will not dare fight in any MMA organization, especially not among the best in the UFC. He will not last 1 round in there.

I speculate that Floyd might be planning something involving the UFC but it will involve him fighting in the octagon.

I would not directly say no. Mayweather is training for MMA and if he would fight in the MMA, it will bring him (and Conor) a lot of money, probably even more than the boxing match. Offcourse Conor would win the fight, but that is irrelevant.

But I don't think that Floyd will really go to the Octagon, follow the rules of MMA and fight Conor. So I have to agree with @bbc.reporter here. He would put his body to fight Conor. Remember, "health comes first" for him. If ever he go up against Conor we all know that Conor will try to bust him and take him down. Mayweather doesn't want to be humiliated and embarrassed and have his 0 gone in that fashion.

As for Conor, I think he will have to wait for the Tony and Khabib to damage each other before fighting either one of them. I also reckon he will go for the Diaz trilogy because it will also bring good money for him as well. Little risk, big reward for him instead of fighting either Khabib or Tony.

I know that Mayweather always did choose his fights and that health comes first for him, but I got the impression that the boxing fight was staged and if a MMA fight would happen that it also will be staged. If Mayweather really wanted, during the boxing fight, than he could have knocked out Mc Gregor in the first rounds.

How can they stage MMA fights then? Its only 3 -5 rounds, will Conor gave up the first rounds and then submit Floyd in the last round? Its really hard to reckon how the two will fake iit n MMA. In boxing perhaps, its gonna be easy because you have 12 rounds and just what we have seen in their fights, Floyd didn't pull the trigger up the last couple of rounds to gave the fans what they wanted to see. Him getting hit my Conor and gave some fans sort of enjoyment specially those who think that Conor can really win the match.

There is no way that a match in the UFC with Conor and Mayweather will bring more money than a boxing match,MMA is still growing as a sport and that is not the case with boxing and it might be the biggest MMA pay per view but it wont surpass the money you can make from boxing but Mayweather is a smart business man just like Connor and he wont be entering MMA ,the possibility is that they might put some cross over matches with the UFC fighters and Mayweather promotions.

Had my notion to pick Cyborg to win cause she looks like a tough girl in a way just like Rousey was before her exit out of the UFC ring for good.
She could be the next champion for the women of the fighting sport we all know now.
The new generation if you will. Wink

lol cyborg has been fighting for over 12 years and has been a champion forever already how can she be the new generation?

She doesn't belong to the new generation, but please don't forget the fact that Cris Cyborg is only 32 years old. She is at her peak and may remain in the ring for another 5-6 years. Anyway.. leave it. I heard that she refused to fight Amanda Nunes. Any wild guess on why she refused?

Nunes is campaigning at 135 lbs and Cyborg at 145 lbs. Its gonna be one superfight if both of them gets into the Octagon. But from what I have read, Cyborg doesn't want to fight a ballooned 135 lbs, although Holly is did campaign at 135 lbs, I don't know why is she given a ticket to fight Cyborg. But at 145 lbs, there no one really to challenge her because that division was made because Cyborg can't squeeze to 135 lbs anymore.

In case you guys didn't know I already opened a new thread for UFC 220:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ufc-220-miocic-vs-ngannou-info-and-prediction-thread-2683163

Ngannou is one of the hottest prospects in the HW division since Cain Velasquez imho.  Anyway, we're back to
the old way of doing it, with each thread for each event rather than one long confusing babble like how the EPL thread is at times.
