@danherbias07
Think I mentioned above that after my first bet lost I had no more skin in this main event so I lost interest and went on to do other things more important to me at the time. Being summer and all. Cool

@cabron
Alot of matches there to dissect but I think Shavkat Rakhmonov is the one fighter that is on everybodys lips right now.

There seems also to be yet another announcement for McGregor and Chandler.
You know he wants the attention because he is on social media and picking fights with just about everybody especially Trump because he said he likes Khabib better. Cheesy

I think he called out Merab at the end of his fight too. Can't really tell since it was hard understanding what he was saying due to a heavy accent.
Actually lost my acca from the very first fight I placed a bet on with the first Russian on the card.
Both those fighters who showed their flags during the weigh-ins lost. Maybe Dana was right.

Next fight night seems to another boring one so good, we have a summer break for awhile til the next UFC main event comes rolling around with Adesanya.

The UFC also announced the fighters on the next card when they return to Abu Dhabi in October:
https://talksport.com/sport/1995341/dana-white-ufc-308-card-khamzat-chimaev-max-holloway

Topuria  vs Holloway  - Topuria's opponent in his first title defense is also the hardest. Looks like his reign will be cut short.
Whittaker vs Chimaev -   Rob is not his biggest opponent but this is a possible loss for Chimaev unless he can submit Rob in the first round. If the fight will go 3rd to 5th round, he'd gas out.

Ankalaev is fighting Rakic too. Dana is not giving this man a chance to fight Alex.

2 of 3. But still a loss. The total of my two bets on the favorite main event and co-main event is just 1.66. Not enough to tie the loss that I bet for Vera. If only he won that match, it would be a sweet ending. Grin
The three last matches were all decisions, and I thought Tony Ferguson versus Michael Chiesa's fight spiced things up when it ended with a submission but it did not.
Marlon Vera was actually winning in the striking district but Figueiredo's takedowns gave him the upper hand and then that one knockdown in round 3 was also a good score. That's one heck of a strong straight punch but Vera was tough and stood up fast.
Oh, and they are asking to give Figueiredo the winner of the bantamweight title match Sean O'Malley versus Merab Dvalishvili.

Did you guys win your bets?

Figue moves up overtaking Vera in the ranking. Hard to see him win against Omalley but then after this he can fight Merab giving both a 2nd shot at the title.
I have Vera in my parlay as well thinking the odd will give me huge wining. Figue looks so small but sturdy. My first parlay includes Dudakova thinking this lady can make her 3rd streak.

The loss is not so much because of this win.

Now Dana is making him pay with fighting Shavkat Rakmonov.
An opponent nobody wants to face after what he did to Geoff Neal with a brutal standing submission.

Everybody is talking about UFC 294 lately and why not? It is afterall before 295.
So here are the latest videos on that card which in my opinion will outperform the last main event and the next fight nights before making it's arrival to our screens:

Had to find this photo for those who seem to love this fighter and who is featured to fight at Abu Dhabi since her fight last year back in September!
Paging @bbc.reporter  Grin

She was not the only one to wear her flag out at the weigh-ins yesterday, there was one other:

There are four russians fighting at Abu Dhabi which begin in about 5 hours from now at a very early start time.
Umar of course is the favorite to win his main event against The Sandman Cory Sandhagen.
As I have him to win it since Khabib was training him in his camp and supposedly going to be in his corner during this fight night on ABC we will have to wait and see if that is going to happen since his conviction of tax evasion by the Russian government.

Here is a really good weigh-ins with that very intense Sharaputdin Magomedov and Michal Oleksiejczuk face-off:

Okay cabron, you are taking everything we are saying out of context.

Having someone on their program who is a political symbol is different then giving someone who has an politically inspired agenda the microphone to convey their opinions of their countries plight is something alot different.
Having Trump there is having the CEO invite his 25+ years friend to watch his sport, nothing more.
Did he ever give him the platform to put his political views on anyone?
Simply no.
You have to remember, this is an American CEO and a company created in the United States. So even if they did decide to go in that route with the elections happening later this year, who is going to tell them otherwise.

The next event is at the Etihad Arena In Abu Dhabi so we will see what the announcers will have to say about Belal becoming the new champion and even comment on him supporting the Palestinians.
They shouldn't since that is something not to do with the sport of MMA and outside their realm of conversation.
Because once they stir this up it gets messy with their sponsors and their audience who doesn't care expect for what they are paying for. And that is watching the sport of MMA from the UFC.
And that is including me and hopefully everybody else who wants to join in on the conversation as this threads intent was to do.

I can agree UFC is not a political platform. It's the parties that won't see it that way. I doubt the liberal will not take it personally. If Dana suddenly stops Trump from inviting him to events, then someone from the other party must have threatened him. If even the churches have politics inside them, sports also have a lot of it. Just by looking at the Olympics today in France, it's a mess.

It's always the sponsors that run that show. But when politics comes in, everything is set aside because those guys can lock up someone who doesn't conform to what they want.

UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Nurmagomedov

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/111167-ufc-fight-night
Cory Sandhagen  vs.  U. Nurmagomedov
S. Magomedov  vs.  M. Oleksiejczuk
Marlon Vera  vs.  D. Figueiredo
Tony Ferguson  vs.  Michael Chiesa
Mackenzie Dern  vs.  Lupita Godinez

I like the one on the main card, Marlon Vera versus Deiveson Figueiredo. Marlon lost against Sean O'Malley in March and this is a return for him to gain his confidence back.
Regarding the main event, Umar is a heavy favorite and it might also be because of his undefeated record.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/mma/ufc/ufc-fight-night-sandhagen-vs-nurmagomedov/matches
I am betting on the favorite in the main event Umar and also the favorite for the co-main event Sharaputdin, and the underdog for the main card Vera.

Good luck everyone.

I think it is valid for everyone to give their views and opinions when they are champions of the event. However, these same champions must bear all the consequences that their speeches will generate.
Didn't the CEO of the UFC ban all fighters from holding their flags during their walkouts to the octagon awhile ago?
He just allowed them to carry them around two months ago. Think I even seen a couple of Russian flags in past events.

Using the UFC as a political platform is just wrong and shouldn't be encouraged no matter what the message.
Keep it to fighting and nothing more. Angry

I agree that the UFC is not a stage for politics. Fighters should take advantage of the few seconds they have to speak and use them for marketing. In the long run, this would bring much more benefits than talking about politics.

It has become a political platform though since the Ukraine-Russia war. They thought it was okay for those fighters who voiced out since Islam did it and Khamzat did it as well. There was even a time when Dana loudly dissed that Peloton CEO because the CEO demanded RFK podcast episode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReBc_kGV6IQ

And then there's Trump who is always in the UFC events. It has become a political platform and this created a lot of enemies.

But Dana White is doing exactly the same thing all the time with Trump  Grin
UFC is even adding national flags on posters for every fighter and they shouldnt dictate fighters what they should or should not say, there is no politics in that.

Khabib is getting back in public slowly and he doesnt have problem with money.
Dustin Poirier said that Khabib purchased UFC 302 fight kit for $30,000 and money will be used for his charity programs.

Shillan & Duffy prediction once again. I bold their picks below but they obviously are not picking the same on the 3 main cards. Shara Bullet was said to be not qualified to fight in US, but somehow UFC made it possible. Shara's eye must be a factor for not picking him. Though he is the fave, an upset is waiting to happen especially if this guy is taken down.

I told you guys dont underestimate Belal Muhammad, he is the first fighter from Palestine to become a champion in UFC!
Someone wont be happy because of this and I dont think real UFC owners and Dana White wont be very happy after Edwards lost the fight.
Belal was better fighter and he deserved to win, but it is always harder to defend the title than to take it the first time.
That's a nice prediction right there. I won 2 of 3 of the last three games. I didn't expect Leon Edwards to be defeated like that, maybe I underestimated Belal Muhammad. Congratulations to our new champion. Well, that makes the Welterweight more lively again, we need more fighters to boost that weight class and I think Belal is the one.

How about Paddy Pimblett? I told you guys this dude is something else. It was a bad decision by King Green to try to take down one of the best submission fighters that I have seen. Paddy directly went for a guillotine and then switched to a tight triangle so fast, that was superb. Now that's 8th consecutive win for Paddy. I swear I am going to follow this guy.

I didn't expect Belal to win as well. I was even surprised these guys https://youtu.be/ahVHU1nkMj0?t=10752 predicted Belal to win and not only that they specifically said Belal is the guy to win the 5 rounds which means this will be a decision.

Didn't know he was of Palestinian descent. He grew up in the US, so I don't know if he will use UFC to shout in support of the country like Chimaev. Dana has been supportive of anyone who voiced their concerns, but recently there were political issues already affecting Dana. People started noticing those fighters weren't in events anymore like Sean Strickland and Chimaev himself.

I don't mind Belal being a champ but let's see how he'd defend the first time.
During his interview after the fight he did mention Chicago so this is probably where he grew up.
But he has been very vocal about being pro-palestine. Since his organization has been raising money for those who had been suffering since the recent war started there. Think he mentioned he is doing it for the children there.

As for Mokaev, I believe White decided not to resign him because of such problems he has had with Chimaev and sees him being just as much trouble so told him good luck in the PFL on his way out of his organization.
It was funny listening to Ariel Helwani yesterday during the MMAFightingonSBN show where Mokaev said he would never go on his show ever. For something that had happened in the past amongst them. He did mention the PFL doesn't even have a flyweight division for him.
They also mentioned they wouldn't be surprised if Dana cut Kape aswell. Because the UFC doesn't need such childish behavior going on while being a distraction through out camps right before a fight.

Belal can support Palestine, it's just not good to use the platform to do it while the issue is pretty much hot. We all recognize the country, Palentine been around even before time. The country is even mentioned in the Bible. But it's going to be tough for Dana if he gets caught in major sports channels. It's an invisible war.

Mokaev tricking Kape is not acceptable behavior. But Dana saying it's the matchmaker's decision?    Roll Eyes

Now he will have a platform to talk about the injustices done towards Palestine so yeah, Dana won't want his UFC shows to become involved of an ongoing war. Especially with a nation who has been backed by the US where his shows are taking place. There are behind the scene backers towards the UFC just like any other organization/corporation.
I dont know who is really backing who in this game, but it all look like a big cult to me.
Lets see how long they allow Belal to be on top of this division, maybe he ends up like Ngannou not fighting for long time, or like Cris Cyborg and others.
Good wins for Aspinall, Pimblett and Mokaev.

Anyone questioning what is happening with Khabib?
I saw him posting short videos from Dubai training camp on his youtube channel.
Not a word about his legal status and confiscated assets back home: https://youtu.be/xw7rbQzQx_A
