MMA is coming to Europe this weekend.
PFL is in Scotland and UFC is visiting France for Fight Night Moicano vs Saint-Denis.
This is interest main event to watch but I notice few more fights I would like to see, one of them is Ion Cutelaba vs Ivan Erslan.
In manin event Benoit Saint-Denis has support of home crowd and small reach advantage, but it wont be that easy to win against Moicano like odds suggest.

Whoa! So the odds are out in Sportsbet. I didn't see that the last time I checked the UFC fights. Thank you for sharing it.

x1.33 for BSD? Ergh. Too low for a profit. Moicano is being underestimated too much. But I will be waiting to see how much the submission prize will be for Saint-Denis of course. He has 9 submissions in his 13 wins of MMA and he might do it again. Like @cabron said, he has the KO power and what he did with Poirier was try to box him first with a combination of Muay Thai then go for a submission. Sadly, he didn't finish it in the first round even though he worked aggressively and got Poirier locked.

Still, if it will pay well then I might just put my money there and maybe get more than just x1.33 if ever my prediction will be spot on. Gas tank had been an issue with BSD, the strategy could be to end it quickly with a submission or be as aggressive as how he did it with Poirier to keep the opponent busy.

Poirier is one of the most skilled fighters though. BSD wasn't very successful against Poirier in that fight and then gassed out. If the same fight plan takes place on the fight night, Moicano is in a vulnerable state he has to be in good shape to last.  If BSD isn't going to make it after 2 rounds, it's his time to submit BSD.

Why is Cyrul Gane not among this card by the way? If there is any other else who can pull more users he should have been in here since this is Paris.

I don't see a clear enough difference to justify this odd for Moicano. In his last fights he has been submitted and knocked out a few times and he is also very passive in striking. But even so, I don't think it is that big of a difference. I believe Moicano will win from the 2nd round onwards by submission.

~when in reality he got there on top because he is Dana's pet.
This statement is so very true.
Dana is happy when one of his prospects from the contender's series rises in the ranks to stardom as O'Malley had done.
This makes him so proud since it was a product of his from the very start and not from some other organization.
Same with Joe Pyfer.

Hadn't checked the odds yet but it looks like Moicano is the heavy underdog in this bout.
Having underestimated Renato last time I placed a bet on him, I doubt I'll be making the same mistake twice and will be putting money on Moicano for the victory even though he is fighting on enemy ground.

Yes I agree that something is wrong with Suga Show after this loss.
He is saying he won this fight in one interview I was watching earlier this week which is insane.
Suga Sean O'Malley REACTS to Fight vs Merab "I WON THAT!" (UFC NOCHE 306)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLBgzteIFj8

Think he needs a break from the sport because he does sound unhinged.
Sean O'Malley Has a MENTAL BREAKDOWN
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUgvdNfsyhc

Anyways, we have a great card coming up next and whats weird that it is a UFC Fight Night away from the Apex and its in Paris!
https://www.ufc.com/news/moicano-sain-denis-fight-by-fight-preview-ufc-paris

This happens for people who hate losing but they still need self-control. Yes, he will definitely need some time away from the octagon to straighten things up. He should've just made that statement to himself and his team and not on either social media or the news. He obviously lost that fight.

If there's one that I would give a win or maybe a draw for performance, it's Grasso. She obviously lost due to points by takedowns but she controlled the fight while her back was on the mat. But since the point system is a big factor, there's no way she could win that fight. That's why I wouldn't say I like technical fighters because there are instances where judges could ruin the results and watching it is so boring, especially in boxing.

There's no point in him hating to lose and doing everything he can to lose. He didn't fight there, Merab did. While Omalley was comfortable with his defeat, Merab didn't stop fighting for a minute, as if his life depended on it.

That's the big difference between the two. One really wanted to win that belt.

Something is switched on in him. He said in the first days of the loss that he wouldn't be making excuses for this loss yet in the next days he claimed he was robbed because he scored more through his strikes while Merab only grabbed him and the knees didn't hurt him.

With all his claims right now, it only appears he is butt hurt realizing he isn't that special when in reality he got there on top because he is Dana's pet.

Here's how he sees the fight unfolds https://x.com/ChampRDS/status/1838274137246064965

I don't hate Seaon O'Malley. I'll be frank and say that he is one of my favorite, he is one of the best fighter that we have seen recently but in front of Merab, he is nothing and I'll tell you why. Merab is a guy who came from an unknown 3rd world country, from an unknown village, all the way to the USA to earn some money for himself and his family in his homeland. He was working constructions, a manual labor, he was working physically very demanding job, destroying of stuff and then cleaning the space and during this time, he managed to go to home from work, have a bath and then go to the GYM to train to become a fighter. Now tell me, have you seen anyone with that much hunger and dedication? Frankly, I haven't seen. What's why I believed that Merab would win because he sacrificed absolutely everything to be there and there was no way for him to lose, he simply wouldn't lose because he is THE MACHINE.

I believe you and respect Merab Dvalishvili I have said he has adjusted his game against Sean O'Malley and O'Malley can not do a thing against him we can surely see in that fight that even though Sean O'Malley came prepared for the wrestling game of Merab I really think in the cardio department no one can beat the guy I thought that O'Malley will be prepared with the adjustment of Merab Dvalishvili I really don't like Sean O'Malley but maybe he come prepared for this fight as I found that his fight really is interesting but Merab is really a beast that I think will rule this division for sure

And right now that dislike for O'Malley just got to the roof as his latest interview that he has won the 1st, 3rd, and 5th rounds he is truly delusional just like his loss against Marvin "Chito" Vera he said that Merab doesn't have any damage on him and all he did was bring him into the ground I really think he is just joking in his statement or he is delusional totally his brain was really busted in that statement of his.

UFC Fight Night Moicano versus Saint Denis
https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-fight-night-september-28-2024

Benoit Saint-Denis is the favorite in this match with -278 odds.
Remember Saint-Dennis was defeated by Dustin Poirier with a right hook TKO in Round 2 of the UFC 299. That's 6 months ago so I bet he is returning on the Octagon with a strong will to defeat every opponent that will stop him from climbing the rankings.

Moicano on the other hand has a good record in his previous fights and is not defeated yet in his last 4 fights including the invitational.
Tough decision for gamblers out there. Moicano might continue his win streak, we will see.
Good luck with your bets.

As I said in the previous comment, it is something very uncertain. But the best thing to do is to trust in Saint's favoritism, despite coming with blood in his eyes, Moicano will also be there, seeing his consecutive victories.

Without that right hook, I think Poirier will possibly go down eventually. He was almost submitted and probably in another few tries BSD would have succeeded to choke Poirier. Saint-Denis is young and motivated to get back on track. Assuming he is still him just as how he fought Poirier, he can pressure Moicano to the very end. It's still a gamble but it will be a fight for whoever has a bigger tank to last. Yep, anything can happen I'm just more confident that BSD will be able to make it against Moicano.

I'm excited about the next card. Moicano has been doing a great job marketing. Last time he was able to go to several places and broke through the UFC bubble by citing freedom of speech. I hope he's as good inside the octagon as he is outside with his words and readings.

They are both grapplers, Moicano is the more experienced obviously who won his last 2 fights but he is getting older so it may just be about who gas out the first.

Saint-Denis though has a KO power so this is something he can capitalize on to defeat Moicano by KO. He went toe to toe with Poirier and gassed out. So I'm guessing Moicano wouldn't last if BSD would be doing exactly like how he was doing with Poirier. Most probably Saint-Denis by rear-naked choke.

It's a possibility, like many others. I don't like to bet on these fights with a lot of possibilities and uncertainties, at least for me this is one. Because anything can happen, including nothing. So I hope it's something good for both of them.

I really like Merab Dvalishvili and I hated Sean O'Malley but watching O'Malley's Jiu-jitsu fight against Takanori Gomi Sean O'Malley is not a slack-off and Merab should not take this lightly because O'Malley surely has some moves and regarding his striking, we can say that he is really something, his accuracy with his strikes and his level of Jiu-jitsu is that really high even though he is not using it more,
And yes I was really wrong with my bet about the fight because Merab Dvalishvili was on another level and O'Malley was really confused and didn't know what to do against Merab in that fight for sure Merab was 2 steps over O'Malley, we can say that Merab Dvalishvili had adjusted on that fight he was not aggressive with his takedowns and O'Malley was puzzled about it because he is expecting an aggressive Merab.

That's an inspiring story. Like the boxing kids from South America, most of them start with nothing and just training in a made-up boxing bag and then end up in Tecate.

Sean seems to have accepted the loss without complaint though.
My analysis is that months before the fight, he used to exchange tweets with Ryan Garcia which Ryan showed interest in UFC. If Ryan vs Omalley happens, I think Ryan will turn Sean's light out in the first round.
Sounds like Merab. Nobody had his back except for Aljamain Sterling who came to his aid during their face-off in the octagon who stole O'Malley's red jacket and wore it.

Suga Show is now seeking answers for his loss and it doesn't seem he has come to realize what losing to Merab actually has done to his career with the loss of the title all in one go.
You know I saw the numbers of how much each fighter made from their fights from Noche and this is astounding.
Sean O'Malley made $2.5mln in total with his loss of the belt while Merab received only $350,000 from winning the championship title. You know why? All to do with those precious PPV points each fighter generates per UFC event.

In this article he is handling with some copium saying it was the infamous Conor McGregor curse:

source: https://www.sportskeeda.com/mma/merab-dvalishvili-accuses-ufc-referee-sean-o-malley-s-conor-mcgregor-curse-aljamain-sterling-injury-mma-news-roundup

Also Aljamain is out of this bout he had scheduled for UFC 307 with an injury.

Someone who has nothing to lose will always be better than the other fighter. That's a fact, many fighters before entering the UFC fought to eat. Merab simply showed who he was, it looked like he was training inside the octagon. He was simply superior.
So true.

When he said he was working for construction at the post-game interview, I was kind of shocked. He even said he is just a normal human and he can make the great players look normal too. I love the confidence and the humility and he is not afraid to say where he came from.
Truly, those who came from nothing do appreciate greatness more and when he fell on his knees after receiving the belt, it was all real. He was just focused on fighting Suga Sean and didn't even realize that he would be claiming the belt until he did and all his emotions poured out.

He made me a fan now but I want to see him do some damage next time when he is dominating his opponents. The title defense is where it will be sealed and he will need to win that strong.

I agree, he entered the fight as if it were just a normal fight, worth nothing. And that made him superior to Omalley who literally did nothing. Humility and strategy got him there, he really is better there than anyone else.
