I think this to and I cannot see why the bookmakers have made the odds be so long in between? I think Hall is the clear favorite and I have him on a parlay with a couple of the preliminary fights. I avoided the other main card fights because they are to close to call imo.

I can't say why really. Not much of an MMA follower until more recently, but yeah, it could be the age gap. It's not much -- just 6 years -- but being 30 and 36 does make a huge difference, more so than if you're 26 and 20. I know it's the case in football anyway, having been both those ages ha ha, where you hit your absolute peak around 29 and then very quickly decline in your 30s. Probably even more so in an intense 10-minute bout of physical pain deliverance!

Anyway, prelims start midnight my time so I'll be long in dreamland by the time these guys take to the ring. GL all.

Also another older selection Uriah Hall @2.80. I still think the match is more even than the odds provide so I thought let's do it -- get your boosts in early, gentlemen!

Good selections there Buwaytress! Wink

If I am not mistaken it was Uriah Hall who broke his opponent's leg with a check kick.
That was the most brutal ending to a fight I had ever seen and probably his easiest win as he didn't have to do much and from what I remember it was in the first round at the 17th second mark!
So easiest money you can make if you had him as the winner without sweating it having him as a pick. Grin

Thanks for reminder rd;) So, having no luck with the favourites for the past 2 big fight nights, I'm putting my fortunes in with the underdogs on two of the biggest fights on the cards tonight. Not that the odds really mean much when neither are even 3/1;)

So I've got in Rani Yahya @2.08 -- older, shorter, and less reach than his opponent but I'm counting on another submission.

Also another older selection Uriah Hall @2.80. I still think the match is more even than the odds provide so I thought let's do it -- get your boosts in early, gentlemen!

Don't worry ralle14, it seems like he hedged his bets and won. Probably on the main card with Dillanshaw. Cheesy
As you can see in your picks for the multimaster challenge you had only a few wrong such as maverick and costa but won it.
So congratulations on your free bet from the competition. Wink

Thank you and indeed! I do hedge a LOT in my betting, and it's worked out pretty well for me so far. Also now, with SB giving promos and all these free predictor games, another awesome way to hedge. Betting one way, hedging with predictors for prizes. I'm definitely going to enjoy the 2mbtc -- see if I can put it on a very early UFC acca with a final leg on Liverpool opening game for a nice fat boost;)

I'll be sure to share if when I win big;)

^Ouf yeah, lost my two biggest bets but I actually threw in another single last night, and ended up winning all 3 of them, so some small comfort (still ended up loss overall though) and live to see out another fight night.

It's highly unusual for me to back 3 favourites in a row (including last big fight McGregor) with higher stakes than normal, and all 3 of them have lost. The universe is teaching me a lesson for going against my style =p

Tough loss on Maverick, even though she landed more strikes against Barber it still wasn't enough to convince the judges.

Got my bets in. Probably an all-time high for me, four singles on tonight's events, the two biggest being Maverick and Sandhagen (I was for a long time considering Dillashaw but you bastards here and elsewhere convinced me otherwise).
Same here I liked Dillashaw at first glance but I had to switch after hearing insights from other people.

Hopefully Sandhagen delivers for both of us.  Cheesy

Edit : Another split decision Lips sealed Sandhagen looked good mid way through the match but the takedowns from Dillashaw was probably the difference maker.

Not my usual bets at all and not even my usual style, but I can't be doing worse than Olympics...

I do this too but leave them until the last few hours on the same day as the fight. Because if there are any unforseen changes to the prelim matches then it won't affect my predictions to gravely.
The only one I know I won't be picking is dillashaw. Just from what I remember about his past.
I tend to bet on Sandhagen when I see him on the card.

Good tips on that ralle14, and I'm generally one to follow form -- but such small sample sizes for me to see, and they fight too infrequently in between. I love a streak snap too so I'd be going for Dillashaw (boosted to maybe 26/10) and a good single on Maverick if I like the odds at that time.

Currently best I see is 1.75 on Maverick, which I've already taken.

And haven't put my picks in on that regular prediction thread -- by Friday for sure;)

Here's my current leans so far.

Sandhagen to win @1.49 (1.52 if boosted) - I think Dillashaw will continue to regress after his last loss while Sandhagen is on the opposite side of things, with the potential to push it further if he wants to. Others say there's value on Dillashaw which is somewhat true but i'm more confident on Sandhagen's firepower to take the win.

Maverick to win @1.67 (1.72 if boosted) - These odds are too good for Maverick given that she won her last two matches while Barber lost her last two. Maverick with the better reach as well, this is her match to lose at this point.

But it seems to me it would be better to take a chance on Dillashaw, the coefficient is delicious and there are chances

UFC Fight Night starting in about 12-13 hours so still time to get in your bets on this event.

It was said he won't setup an fights for the rest of this year and will more likely be able to until 2022.
But it is McGregor, so anything can happen. He is financially comfortable as he made over 23 million from this loss alone.
Most of that was from a pay per view bonus ($18 million):

What a way to end the fight.
With a broken ankle when stepping back. Nobody predicted this to happen and it wasn't TKO.
Not so sure what they will do now seems retiring is looking the way it ended.
Depending on what the doctor's say about his ankles condition, retirement could probably be an option to him. That was a pretty bad injury though so I don't think that we will probably see McGregor go back to the octagon anytime soon.
