Did anyone catch the 1st round knockout in the main event for Jamahal Hill.
He made Johnny Walker look like a straight board on his feet just before falling over for the win.
Didn't see that happening so fast from Walker's last few fights I thought he had more fight in him to withstand Hill's blows to atleast the 3rd round.
Here is the fight from the official UFC youtube channel:

Thanks for the share. Still wince inside everytime I see a lightning-quick KO. Walker tried to lure him in for his right kick but I think he didn't connect well on his first attempt and then seemed to have lost patience after as Hill just kept encroaching, accepting the invite and then pow. All over, but Hill was my pick. Hard for me to ignore 12/10 odds when predicting.

Great fights in the UFC last night with the major of the favorites winning on the main card except for the surprise for Tuivasa getting a KO on Lewis the way he did. What an elbow that froze even the announcers not knowing why he was falling.
Well deserved win by knocking out the king of KOs.
Dana's post fight press conference was interesting as he confirmed what Cannonier asked him directly right after his fight with Brunson.
Whether he will get that title shot against Adesanya and he actually touched on what Israel said there probably be a fight in June.
Here is the interview with the UFC president on these discussions:

I could never see Derrick Lewis losing from Tai Tuivasa after watching first few rounds of co-main event, but it happened with those Tai elbows and maybe Lewis was to reckless in some moments.
Not the best main event with Adesanya winning against Whittaker but you can't have every fight a spectacle with KO win.

^ I need to find a way to take a day off on Monday one of these fight nights so I can stay up watching it all. You guys in US must be pleased with Super Bowl coming up too.

Ok I finally bit the bullet and put a tenner on Adesanya's opponent. 35/10 felt like too good to pass when you've just woken up about to consume an entire afternoon of football. I guess Adesanya's press comments also rubbed off on me the wrong way, and I'm terrible when it comes to betting sometimes this way, as I have a tendency to bet against people and teams I "dislike" temporarily.
Fights are going on right now (it is Saturday night so Sunday morning where you are), football the american one a'la Superbowl is Sunday evening so Monday for you. But yeah everyone is excited this weekend for non-stop action in sports here!

So you put it down on Whittaker. Well good luck on that one for the main event cause last time I looked he was 3.60x.
Got all the early prelims wrong and now the prelims are happening and got those right so far.
Will wait to see how the rest of the fight night goes.
This is the result of the fight Tuivasa knocking out the beast Lewis and Adesanya masterfully and skillfully show superiority against Whittaker to retain his middleweight title, another fight that lives up to the hype is the match between Cannonier and Brunson I thought Brunson is winning the fight until he ran out of gas.

The one to put something on and worth it would be the Derrick Lewis vs Tai Tuivasa bout.
After the press conference last night it seemed these two are really wanting to throw it down and have it end in the second round.
As the only thing I got from the main card fight was Whittaker not talking too much and it was mostly just Adesanya saying the same thing as his other interviews and showing the NFT on his necklace.
Anyways it should be a non-stop night with 15 fights going on for this event so you shouldn't be bored in anyway.

Weigh-ins are going on so here is the link to watch these official ones then the one later on for promotional purposes:

Adesanya is the champion as he beat him to get the belt and it was by a decisive knockout early on in the fight, so yes he is a heavy favorite in this one. It is probably not a good decision to pick Whittaker to win even if there is a whole lot of value on a bet on him. Cause it would seem you will just be throwing away money and a fight that is pretty locked in.

Yeah, I guess I'm not seeing myself putting any money on this weekend after all. Am still considering some silly money bets, but I've been coming fairly close on several accas this week, not usual for me to get a few close calls in a row (and that was after a week of back to back acca hits). Superstition says I shouldn't ruin it by putting MMA into the mix.

Saw some noise about him actually agreeing this fight without signing (he's signed now). That's... uncharacteristic of a sport I'd say. Or maybe it's normal with MMA. Now the 2nd highest paid fighter behind McGregor. Let's see if he pays his value from the first bout.

This is the event many have been waiting for UFC 271: Adesanya vs Whittaker taking place in Houston Texas this weekend.
Israel won the first match by knockout in the second, but Robert has been training and says he is ready to take his belt back.
The press conference will be in the next few days so those should be an exciting build up to the fight happening Saturday night.

Here is the UFC multimaster competition for this event for your chance to win some prizes:

Thanks for the notify, my picks all locked in. Funny thing about Adesanya is I backed him plenty when he wasn't such the obvious favourite (and lost) but now the odds put him firmly as the likely winner, I wonder if it's worth now backing Whittaker just for the value? Or was Israel just too good for him?

Recognised some other names too in the list. UFC fighters finally rubbing itself off on me I guess.

The pre-fight press conference is starting 5 hours from now, so just in time to get home from your work and watch the action unfold in anticipation for the fight:

^ Thanks for the note, last one in so far, surprised not many more predicted yet. Went for Strickland, despite my usual leanings towards the less trash talking candidate, but I made my pick before I saw the news about him saying he'd go turn Hermansson into a coward ha ha ha. Oh well.

Then I gone and went for all the favourites with odds less than 14/10, see if I get "luckier" siding the bookies.

Even won a small outlay on this to go all the way, which it certainly did. My money had always been flagging on for Gane, but his odds kept improving, so the value for me did not, ended up pocketing some decent change on Ngannou, instead of withdrawing I now more than doubled that change (yay).
Doubling up is a good thing in the UFC cause the matches can not last more than 25 minutes when it comes to 5 rounder like the Gane vs Ngannou one did, so your good there.
I had Francis at 2.29 but it did reach all the way up to 2.32 so those who got him at this price were laughing after the third round where he was just dominating Cyril and rode on to a win after that.

Called the right winners.
Only got the method of KO for Ngannou's win incorrect. Should have been decision.
Hope everyone did well if they placed bets on UFC 270.
Don't think anyone got the way the main event was going to end(to go the distance) except for buwaytress. Cheesy
I would imagine it was at around 3.60x. Well that is from what I recall it being to one point in the day.

Reporting in. Weird Sunday for me. Was earlier waking up to losses in less familiar territory (NFL) but also to this surprise news on the slight underdog win in UFC.

As for Tyson Fury. I did Francis in a few videos getting boxing tips from Mike Tyson circulating around so he just might move his skills over to the boxing ring if Mr. Dana White doesn't up his paygrade as a true champion, as this fight without a doubt has shown the world.
The championship title from Gane has been unified into his own belt now.
A few tips here and there from any experts will not make any drastic changes to the technical striking of Francis Ngannou, i am sure he will be able to beat many Heavyweight boxers simply because of his power, but if he is planning to face Tyson Fury who is a technical wizard, there is no way he is going to land a punch.

Even against Ciryl Gane he was not able to land any punch on the feet, only with his takedowns he was able to dominate him. Forget landing anything near the face of Tyson Fury Cheesy. Technically Tyson Fury is far superior than any boxers and his muscle memory is there from a small age and Francis Ngannou who learned boxing after 24 years could somehow scratch with him is ridiculous. Stick to MMA and fight non elite boxers, he could win against them for sure.

Predictions

Francis Ngannou defeats Ciryl Gane via knockout/TKO

If Deiveson Figueiredo can get his weight cutting issues solved, I think he will beat Brandon Moreno.

Brandon Moreno has very good cardio, that is his strength which aligns with Figueiredo's weakness which is cutting weight and endurance.

But it is hard to say who has the advantage there since Figueiredo's weight cut was very bad for the 2nd fight.

Called the right winners.

Only got the method of KO for Ngannou's win incorrect. Should have been decision.

Hope everyone did well if they placed bets on UFC 270.

Ciryl was no match for the power horse, and the battle was rather simple: Ciryl was running around the cage throwing some schoolboy leg. I believe it was worth watching since Nagannuo chose not to knock him out.

Ngannuo is the type of fighter who doesn't let losses get into his head or wins get into his heart; he takes fight after fight. Ciryl is quite good with his leg and head work, but Ngannaou's major upsets come from his power hand.
Now we looking forward to the Tyson Fury Challenge!!

@Welsh I do also like the odds for Gane. He is not someone to underestimate in this fight and potentially take it the distance.
But I am going to back Ngannou, as buwaytress has already mentioned, the hype is approaching so that should heighten the odds for Ciryl backers.
I hope you did not change your tips at any point like buwaytress did along the way after the Ciryl hyping by Welsh  Grin
I stuck to my original pick even though the hype therefore odds kept dropping for a Ciryl win.
I've posted videos of Ngannou through out the entire time upon the buildup to the fight.
He was just too much of a powerhouse to go against at anytime and his focus was not to be ignored.

Went with an Ngannou win and was only off by not having it end early as the odds for that to happen were 1.33x just before the fight. As everybody thought there would be a knock out from either of these heavyweights.

As for Tyson Fury. I did Francis in a few videos getting boxing tips from Mike Tyson circulating around so he just might move his skills over to the boxing ring if Mr. Dana White doesn't up his paygrade as a true champion, as this fight without a doubt has shown the world.
