Social media surely gives a lot of visibility to gambling. The big casinos have gotten big names in the rap and boxing game on their side to promote them as "influencers" and this draws new crowds to try gambling as a constant stream.

The thing with this type of promotion is that it has certain drawbacks for the viewer. For one, there's no showcase of the cons of gambling in this type of promotion. Influencers are incentivized to only show their wins. And this creates a wrapped perception for people that they're just going to get wins. Like for instance when people gamble on stream, they're constantly shown earning huge winnings streaks. etc.

This of course isn't realistic and many people are suspecting that the odds for streamers might be fixed. This wrapped perception towards gambling does real damage to inexperienced people to be honest so the perception people get on gambling from social media isn't that great.

That's reasonable if the videos are related to sports, and the streamers/vloggers' content is related to games and gambling, amd if its youtube or facebook's auto generated ads, it's normal.

What is not is vlogs that are non-sports and non-gambling related then there is an included gambling video ad in the end of the video. Like it's a funny video then later there is a gambling ad, like wtf, it's auto report to me, coz its annoying.
What worst is the promoted gambling casino is a known scammer.

No wonder many vloggers do the same and act like its normal to have such ad. Well, there are still vloggers/influencers who doesn't want accept those gambling ads to them.

The truth of the matter is that most, if not all influencers care about their audiences and the content they're pushing to these audiences as long as they are making good bucks, then it's all good. Imo, it now falls in the the jurisdiction of the parents and guardians of these kids to play an active role to ensure their wards don't indulge in it by having a discussion around the topic rather than ignoring or avoiding it. Gambling isn't the only thing being put at the forefront of minors and I reckon that it's no5 going to stop anytime soon.

Many of those influencers only care about the money they are being paid and the ones they will also earn as a result of the promotion they are doing. It's not just the money they offer them, but anyone who also registers using their promo code. The company gives them something in return for that user who registers and makes any amount of deposit, which is one of the reasons why they share their promo code at the end of their video.

But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?
and this is why gambling awareness should be taught to children, day by day as technology advances, information will become more and more accessible to the younger generation and with it, they will also be exposed to things that are not meant for them. instead of completely blocking them from it, teaching and educating them about it will be far more beneficial in the long run. it's the same thing with other things like sex, smoking, drinking, drug use, etc... educating them about it will be far more beneficial than completely blocking them from it until they are of a certain age.

You wouldn't blame the influencer for their promotion rather kids of nowadays are being exposed to social media in way that they can't deal away from social media and they have access to all manner of things, if there were to be a way where they could add age limits them it would be fine. But this, youtube, facebook and twitter has no restrictions of age bracket where all kinds of people even under age people can start having have access to adult video which is very bad. Let say for instance, I want to promotes any gambling site online how do i know that this age limit aren't allow to access the gambling site, is now left for gambling site to set a limitation or restriction on age bracket where those who are underage can't have full access to site, by this they can limits underage or little kids to have restricted access to go through that site.

The casinos do their own research before hiring an influencer to promote their casino. Influencers who often get these jobs have a specific audience (users above 18+) that the casino considers prospective customers. Their content are not for kids so they do not worry about underage gambling happening because of their platform. Trust me, no casino wants kids betting on their platform. Think about it, how much are kids going to spend gambling? The amount is nowhere close to what an adult would gamble with. Parents have a big role to play in deciding what and who their kids watch and follow on social media.

A lot of social media influencers especially bloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their blogs or videos.
It should be vlogs = video + blog.

Blog = written form.

I could see a huge contribution and spread of information that they made especially during this time where the majority are using smartphones already. In fact, we've been seeing a massive increase in gamblers and online gambling sites. But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.

Well, the algorithm of the social medias where they are making contents will do the thing. But they should also be responsible by putting some disclaimer that what they're promoting isn't for kids.

I haven't seen yet a vlogger that have said the same thing about that disclaimer and that's why most of them are for the sponsorships and money only.

There are lots of things social media influencers are doing which is really affecting the society, but most of those influencers only care about themselves, they only care about the amount which they are going to be paid, and they do ignore the negative impact of the company which they are marketing for. Young children growing up are growing to be a gambler, since they have access to mobile devices at the early stage, they do see most of those gambling sites everywhere, and when they are advertising for those companies, they do make people feel they can make money from gambling, which will encourage people to gamble.

Regardless of little kids who make use of the internet and they likely come across different gambling advertisement and site sometimes influencers even go ahead teaching the public how to place a bet. At this point I can't blame influencers neither the site, this is just for the money and it's left for parents to take good care of the child for example setting a restriction and TV guard or phone guard. This act whereby influencers advertise gambling sites is called marketing and creating awareness about the site, an influencer will never think twice before accepting the contract and this is just common among influencers. Not just gambling sites but scam projects like altcoins promoted by influencers, this is not a new act but definitely little children can easily adopt this mindset and practice the act without knowing the negative effect at an early age

I don't think they have a real interest in their target audience. whether they are young or old. The important thing is to receive views/visits and advertise.

In some countries such as Italy, this type of activity is absolutely illegal considering that it involves hidden advertising often abusive.
And gambling promotion here is illegal!
I think its correct that this type of activities are prohibited or at least that must be regulated in some way...
Precisely. These type of influencers do not even care the effects of their gambling promotion, because the fact that they are earning from it, that’s the most important thing. That’s how greedy these YouTubers are. And it’s just so saddening that my own country is also tolerating it, that’s why I got suspicious if these country’s officials also get paid with it.

If only these type of promotions will be filtered or won’t get any chance to be promoted, then we can secure that the present generation these days will not easily fall on gambling addiction.

We can't blame the officials about this because they don't have the upper hand to suspend the account of any youtuber without solid ground. They need strong evidence of why they need to ban the account in social media, this is why officials are just letting it go because chasing these influencers would be wasting their time and resources.

In this case, it is up to the user to filter what they are watching. They should not be tempted of what they are seeing because most of them are just faking or editing what they are showing to the public. As the government can't take care of this, as an audience, it is your responsibility to do your due diligence before signing up to any site aside from these gambling sites.

I don't think freelance influencers care about their target audience, it's a task for the advertiser not the blog. Influencers are focused on maintaining the blog, to keep it updated. They need money to run the blog efficiently. Advertisers like casinos, offer them enough funds to place those ads. Because they, the casino, see the blogger discuss gambling in his online space. Most gambling ads are placed on game related blogs. Else the conversion rate will be low. However, advertisers may not care about the niche, if the influencer has enormous number of followers.

Such ads are disseminated across such pages, because out of those millions of followers, they'll be thousands of gamblers. Who will be interested in trying out the advertised gambling platform. Moreover, in the context of this thread, advertisers may want to convert non gamblers in the page to gamblers, by placing such ads aggressively. That is the influencer has to promote gambling on every single content he creates. Hence, kids visiting such page will one day get interested in gambling. Especially if the ads are spiced with a cash prize. Internet users are mainly tricked with giveaways and related ideas. "Money call the shots or makes the mare go", so, the influencers can't resist some cash offers for an ad placement, even when they dislike placing such ads.

I think that every influencer likely knows their target audience quite well. Given that influencers have built up a large following by consistently producing content that engages their audience, they should naturally have a good understanding of what resonates with their followers.

Not sure if you're aware of the aggressive advertising technique casinos implement on the internet. The advertiser at some point understands that gambling is a broad niche and lots of people will definitely get interested in gambling once money is flashed on their computer screen. Hence, the influencer may be away of the followers on their blog, yet it doesn't change the fact that they'll get over such thoughts when money is offered to them. Influencers are well aware of underage followers viewing the page, but that's not the aim of the project. Money is the aim and objective behind the building of the account. Not some kids viewing the page.

Casinos also cares about the niche the blog is built under, to some extent, but not when the budget is wide, and the house needs lots of outreach on the web. It's a disadvantage to the kids and society, and a huge win for the casino. In this deal, the consumer's age is not what matters, the casino assumes everyone knows gambling is not for underaged players. But the young people also don't care about this, I think the negligence is on every internet user involved in the ad distribution circle. Those kids also have no self-control, that's why they go after a game not meant for kid, for money's sake. Everybody needs the money, the casino, influencers and kids.

Its part of marketing on which those influencers or bloggers are really just that doing their job since they are paid on doing that on which nowadays on which most people are really that indeed having their own smartphones
then access on everything is really that based up on a few clicks. As a business and have plans on marketing then you would really be definitely be hiring those people who would really be bringing up such exposure on which of course this would really be able to reach out tons of audiences or potential players that might be hooked up and would really be playing on the site or whatever things that they are really that introducing or showcasing.
This is why it do makes more parenting even more harder if you do have kids because exposure is really there, you cant really be able to monitor your kids anytime on what are the things that they've been able to see
and would really be that potentially be tending to get involved basing up on what they have saw online on which it is really that indeed hard to cope up on everything.

Most times when I see content creator's and influencer placing the advert of casinos on the videos i allays ask myself one civic question which is how sure this influencer are about the casinos before the advertise them on they platforms.

Although the casino pay them handsomely for those brand promotions,  but the problem is how those casinos treat the fans of the influence after they registered use they code and staked some amount.

Is this really a thing though? I thought places like Youtube were pretty strict and against including things like gambling adverts in videos? I could understand influencers on Twitch promoting these things, but think even they have faced a clampdown recently because it got pretty ridiculous. While things like sports betting and general casino gambling is getting more access in the US, I think there are still some quite strict rules around promoting this sort of content. When you see massive adverts plastered around the side of major Premier League football/soccer clubs and all over Europe, you have to wonder why these influencers shouldn't be allowed to advertise them too, if that really is the case.

Configuration is the solution.

But people give a child a smartphone and don't configure it, let's start there, but a well-configured phone keeps any bad influences away:  Ads, Social Media, Gambling etc.

Find out for example about Family Link Apps.

That protects them until they are at least 13 years old, it is not 100% efficient but it works.

It may be about freedom. Freedom is important to me. Freedom without accountability is disastrous. The best tool is the internet. Make wise use of it. We owe future generations. We must demand better and protect our children. This isnt political. About common sense.
But in most countries in this world, what those influencers card about is their pockets. They do not care about any children so far it is not their children. The government that supposed to care also do not care because of the money they are seeing from gambling sites. The government only care about the tax. Who cares are the parents. Parents should find all possible means to discipline their children and let them know how gambling is dangerous, promising false hope of money but which will drive them to losses. With the advise, the children will know that the money they can not afford to lose should not be used to gamble.

I think that when people create YouTube channels to talk about gambling, they put warnings about age restrictions and in casinos they have always had age restriction warnings, everyone over 18 years old and even 16 year olds know Very well, it is forbidden for anyone under 18 years of age to play in casinos, so when people are on YouTube and are watching a comedy video, topics related to politics and a video about gambling comes up, then that person should ignore it. if you have no interest in gambling. and this person doesn't need to complain because they were watching something on YouTube and then some video about gambling came up. all this person should do is ignore the video that talks about gambling and continue watching what he was watching

Many people tend to blame gambling, when they know very well that gambling is not to blame for their failure. Everyone has the right to post whatever they want on their social media channels as long as they respect the social media TOS and it is up to parents to educate their children well so that they do not create casino accounts when they are minors. Nowadays, there are many parents who make the big mistake of giving their children the phone early and forgetting to keep an eye on what their children are doing on the phone, as a result of which one day they discover that their children are committing crimes on the internet or playing in casinos. while they are minors

...
I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?

I have small children and when I play a cartoon on YouTube or some TV channel for them, the cartoon is repeatedly interrupted by commercials, and in 99% of cases those commercials are for +18. But YouTube is the worst, gambling commercials where coins are jingling, everything lights up and easy profits are promised. Banks and their cheap loans. And yesterday the cartoon was interrupted by a commercial where some guy sings about whores, drugs, and money in a video where all that is presented... I jumped from a chair to stop it.

So the influencers are not the only ones to be blamed, the owners of these sites should have much more responsibility... there should be some rules & regulations. But when I see what YouTube (one of the biggest) is doing, why would anyone else think about the consequences?
