Still waiting on my bars to arrive so I can load and fawn all over them. In the meantime I finally downloaded the linux wallet and getting it compiled. A nice chap on reddit is tipping out a few grams and invited me over when I have an address to use. Smiley

I'd like to say I wish I had discovered you guys earlier. Zero premine and no ICO make me a very happy crypto enthusiast.

Weird transfer indeed. I'm still out of the office and away from ready communications access until tomorrow night, so if there are still problems with this first trade 24 hours from now,  I'll be able to help out.

The established trust is the 'escrow'!

And there are in practical and theoretical development here an array of interlocking ideas and principles and practices designed to determine just what the most safe and efficient models might be.

And eventually make a tonne of money from that trust and those ideas.

OK.  Cragv has pointed out that were I to become a Trusted Trader here, he would be able to help me acquire some BTC for transfer from my Aussie bank account to his.

So clearly, what is step one to acquiring trusted trader status?

Keep it simple IMZ!

Cheers,

Gekko

To get trusted trader status you have to have a couple of verified trades under your belt. It doesn't matter the currencies or coin just that the trades were carried out with the community and have been verified by the other party. After that I think you need a third and fourth not involved int he trade to verify the TT status. To prevent anyone from trading within themselves and self verifying. Its not as complex as it sounds. Kind of like a town hall meeting scenario.

I get it.  I don't have any other trades I want to do.

I think you guys are missing the forest for the trees here.

Wouldn't it be much easier if one of the already trusted traders or you and IMZ yourselves could act as an escrow service, using UNO deposits to secure the trade?

Say I want Cragv to buy a BTC for me.  I send a BTC worth of UNO to the escrow account and so does Cragv.  Then I send him money through the bank, and copy the transfer receipt to Cragv and the escrow holder.  Once Cragv verifies receipt of funds to escrow, my UNO are released back.

Cragv buys BTC and sends to my wallet shoewng the transaction ID to the escrow and myself.  I verify reception of the BTC to escrow and Cragv.  Cragv's UNO are released back.

Using UNO as security in an escrow system seems to be safer and easier than the present system you describe and the natural role of something rare valuable and universally acceptable by 100% of this community here.

If somebody flakes on the trade, the all of the escrowed UNO is simply transferred to the injured party.  Deal done.

Thoughts?

"Unfortunately none of [my business experience] relates to the internet unfortunately."

Or . . . perhaps it's a plus. Perhaps exactly what cryptos need at this point is more people with non-Net networking skills, backgrounds in developing merchant networks, knowledge of dealing with regulations.

Speaking of which: what can we sell? What products -- physical or digital, borderless or in some countries -- can we get our hands on to practise marketing with?

m

A topic of discussion that never changes.

What we need is less alpha geeks and more people, less e-penis waving and more business interest, less 'this is an automated service do not reply to this email' and more coffee with colleges. I'm an alpha geek and I wholeheartedly agree that as a social group we aren't going to get cryptographic currencies off the ground. likely we don't want to let it become real, we want to keep this cool little sub culture for our own, our precious. If it becomes real, all the jerk jocks will get involved, like video games and HALO and comic books (Stereotypes are for illustration purposes only and not intended to offend all you nerds and weirdos).

More real people from as many backgrounds as possible. Inbreeding is sickness, diversity is strength.

I have no phone atm and limited telecommunications, enjoy the weekend.

Hehe,
I personally would love to back every single Uno with a silver oz.
I dont have the 6M to do it...one day.
Then you would see GS, JPM etc... have tremors when they realise the paper shorts that are so naked, cannot cough up for physical for delivery.
That would be the day crypto was shut down, be declared illegal as the USD hegemony sham...(sorry US guys)..cannot be allowed to be challenged.
I have nothing against US persons, but the .gov and all the other initialled organisations are not doing your fine country any service.
They sent Lehman to the wall and now the debt debacle is 10 times worse.
...............................
Happy to give away electrical contracting /appliance repair services in Sydney for Uno or BTC. to any TT in Sydney.
Sorry don't have anything deliverable over the internet or post.
Thinking...need a business idea..... Brain hurting... Thinking some more.
regards,
tacktic.

Thanks guys and/or girls.
I see a need for this kind of thing.
Un-Ex may not be a world beater but it is on the right path.
Have been in business for over 20 years.
Unfortunately none of it relates to the internet unfortunately.
Although I used to occasionally deal overseas,
For Australian based people the headaches with dealing with bankers and middlemen make me shudder.
Pretty much 80% of middlemen I would say, exist because the powers that be, make it so difficult to do.
If governments would listen to the people and let business, capital and information flow, the world could be a much better place.
Is why I made an account here and joined up.
Imagine all the people.

Regards,
Tacktic.
