If this is not the solid rock rules, then where is the real list?
Could you please reference to it if available? and if none available, why not make this one the main rules for the forum? Smiley

This is the only list. There previously wasn't really a definitive list of rules and this one has evolved over time with staff and community input. The previous admin didn't seem to want to set rules in stone because people would then try find loopholes and bend them to get out of any action taken against them on technicalities, hence why we created this "unofficial" list. I agree we should probably remove the unofficial from the title though.
Is there a chance maybe one of the Forum moderator to take a look at the list and confirm it as the list of Rules?

hilariousetc is Global Moderator hilariousandco's 2nd account. So, there you have it.

This, and if you actually bother to read the first post of this thread you will see the list was created by mprep who is also a Global mod. Also, not sure why you think a thread would be stickied and not removed if it wasn't all legitimate  Roll Eyes.

Nice updated list! But isn't there a rule that you must remove a bump after someone has posted?

In a world of peaches, don't ask for apple sauce
Dear, mprep.

I'm Indonesian Translator.
I don't find Indonesian Translation for this topic (Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ).
May I translate this topic (Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ) to Indonesian version?

I want to translate it on my spare time.
Feel free. Post the link once you're done and I'll add it.

Merged 2 FAQ questions and modified it:

...
Sure, feel free. Post the link to the thread and I'll add it to OP alongside other translations.

Not sure about the cut off though. There's a 60000 byte (not sure, theymos mentioned the limit some time ago) for posts so  it could be that Arabic characters are stored inefficiently so they fill up the limit in fewer actual characters.

∙ Is there a Filipino version of this Rules and Guideline thread in the Local Forum - Philippines?
  - If there's none, I will translate this during my free time.
...

Here's the Tagalog (Filipino) Version that I made and Posted in the Philippine Local Board: Unofficial Forum Rules & Guildelines (Tagalog Version)
If it's good enough for you, you can link it to the OP. (Guidelines for Threads are not included for now)
I will try to keep the Local Thread updated with the OP.
Added the filipino and the previously linked arabic translations.

Just recently, a certain user seems to be running through one particular board and just replying to EVERY thread they see regardless of when the threads were last posted to... There was one example of a thread where the previous "last posted" date was from 2014!!?!

It's fairly obvious the guy is just spamming semi-coherent "Google Translate Output" in an attempt to raise "activity"... I'm thinking future SigSpammer or Account Seller.

I can't find any reference in the rules to "necro-posting"... What are the rules on this? Is it worth reporting to the board moderators? Maybe as spamming? Huh

4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]

If you are posting a reply on a thread, and your answer is relevant. Would adding your referral link instead of the plain url be a problem?

For example, you are suggesting service a-dot-com as an answer's to OPs question. Would a ref link (a-dot-com?ref=my-ref) be allowed?
If the post is directly on-topic (like in your example) and is constructive (i.e. not just parotting content that was already posted), it's allowed.
Also, it would be neater if you enclose your referral link in
Code:
[url=http://(ref link)](then type the actual link)[/url]
which will make the thread flow much better since there is a tendency that the topic will direct to... another concern.

Thank you very much! At least there is a list of rules wherein all participant will be guided. I commended the FAQs section that was pretty spoon feeding, lucky us!

My best regards and more power!

My reply was deleted twice.  I still dont know why since its not off topic and the message is not useless.

Well you're obviously doing something wrong and I suggest you read the rules in the op because posts are not just deleted for being either off topic or useless, though making posts like the following is pretty useless:

Hi, im a newbie here,. Can you give me strategies on how can i start in here?

What exactly do you want to start? That doesn't tell us anything. This is a bitcoin forum where people discuss bitcoin so I'm not sure what you need help with. Be more specific, but there are already several threads stickied that can probably help you and threads are often trashed when the info you already need can be found in one of them.
