Good day Sir mprep, I just want to know if using google url shorteners is prohibited and against the rules ? Because sometimes it's very messy when posting links like facebook links specially when participating ICO bounty campaigns.

5. No link shortners that requires users to view an ad.

So as long as you don't direct via an advert you can use link shorteners. However there is another way to tidy up your posts using the BBCode.

Thanks for posting this. What are guidelines around things like Airdrops and ICO announcements? I just joined because we are running an ICO and some in our Telegram group have asked us if we were here so I wanted to check it out.

IMO it's easy for everyone to just label everything as a scam, so legitimate ICOs get lost to that and it's harder to get traction. How could this platform help us but at the same time respect the rules and guidelines of the community? Thanks!

Often I meet on the forum the inscription "[Suspicious link removed]". Are these links removed manually or automatically? Is there a database of suspicious links on the forum? Who replenishes this base? Thanks for the answer.

Added one and adjusted a few FAQ questions due to the recently introduced Merit system, added the Polish translation to the list of translations:

Q: What is Merit and how does it work?
A: See this link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/merit-new-rank-requirements-2818350. Make sure to check out the linked infographics if you're having trouble understanding how the system (or a part of it) works.

I'd also forbid any discriminatory and racist behavior.

This isn't explicitly against the rules so unless that's changed it won't be added.

Hi, I have made a polish translation of your original post.
You can find it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2861831.new#post_faq
If you will be so kind to add it to the translations section, I would be grateful.

Is there a way to unsubscribe from threads you have posted in; that is, to remove those threads from the "Show new replies to your posts" function?
No, but you can use the "Watchlist" option instead (last option from the list, upper left). It gives you the ability to sub/unsub.

I'll give that a shot; thanks.

The only way to remove threads from the "Show new replies to your posts" function is to delete all your post in that thread. It's one of the forums frustrations when you post an early reply to something and then it evolves into a spam megathread.

Yeah, the "nukular option," to use George W.'s phrase...  Grin

Watchlist is working more or less like "Show new replies..." does on most other forums. I can only imagine how long the list of threads is on the show new replies screen for some of you hero/legendary types as mine already takes up half a page.

Looks like the spam problem still exists, is there any rule regarding "Locking Topics"?
As an Anti-Spam measure (not as a rule), I'll leave a link to my thread here: Lock Thread(s) After Getting Enough Replies.

I saw that most of those spam threads' owners doesn't even know how to close the discussion, I have sent a PM to some of them requesting to close their threads.
....Hopefully, most will respond.
