So, why does every day that goes by my SP20 keeps clocking itself a tad lower ... losing like 3GH-5GH/day ... and never goes back up? ... unless I restart mining...

settings ?

210w limit per board, voltage start 685, limit 699, temps never hit over 105c

yeah try doing them all just a little power.

say 200 watts

.682 all four

and .691 max.

I think you are just touching a bit warm for that machine thus the small drop off.

I can move all six machines 20 gh or so by open and close of the door in the photos below.

The gear is a bit sensitive to temps.

I highly doubt its temperature related. All the time, all ASICs cept maybe 2 read 85C, 2 of them ... some of the time are between 105C ... those dont get throttled down tho, its the cooler ones that seem to .. I dont get it.

It seems like some of the voltages are getting raise and clocks are being dropped to keep under 210w, but that makes no sense... why would the volts get raised a tiny bit over the course of days, if the chips are already stable (no hw errors) ... etc...

No, sometimes it does. Don't have it handy to show right now. Wiggling your settings by 1-3 mv sometimes helps with this, but I am only talking about an underclocked miner (1.2-1.3Th).

My guess is high clock high settings.

Or your psu  is getting older.

But if you are set to hash at 1200gh using 600 watts with a stud psu then I don't know what to guess.

Yeah, your using the .64 or later firmware.  On that one you need to change the cgminer.conf.template file instead.

tried that but

neither

{"api-listen":true,"api-allow":"W:127.0.0.1,192.168.1/24","pools"

(after cgminer restart it inserts a Backslash before the slash???)

nor

{"api-listen":true,"api-allow":"W:127.0.0.1,192.168.1.0","pools"

works.

Try: "W:127.0.01,W:192.168.1.0/24,W:192.168.1/24"

I had to put both versions in my config to get it workin... yeah, its weird, dont know which one really works haha

i don't have the miner on hand so i have a couple questions

1. what is the exact model and specs of the sp20 fan: model fd121238ub
12V how many A
RPM? 4600
CFM? 212.6 max
db based on specs? 61.5

2. what will happen if i add a second fan in front of the built in one without removing it?

thanks

edit: starting to populate for future reference

thank you!

2 further questions:
when trying different fan speeds, what temp in degrees c should not be exceed?

i'd say 40 degrees c but i'm in a c,c,c,cold place .

snowed again last night  Grin

Where do I find the "SP20 User Manual" that is referred in the quick guide?

this thread is as good as any, better even.

I cannot get API working

when I do

Quote
SSH to your miner
vi /etc/cgminer.conf
editing {"api-listen":true,"api-allow":"W:192 etc","pools":

the cgminer.conf seems to be overwritten with default 127.0.0.1 after restart...

any Idea?

some SP20 pr0n for you:

>snip image<

got an EVGA 1600w PSU sitting at home waiting to plug in - I think I'll need another PSU of not massive wattage to get all 4 going Smiley

It has 14 PCIe plugs, right? So, you need just another PSU with at least two plugs, but i would just get EVGA 1300; this way you can downclock to ~700W/1250-1270Gh.
However, if you want to downclock, the trick would be how to downclock them with just one or two PSU.
You would have to do it one by one, bring to stable hash, then switch off and do another.

what is to the left of them-it looks interesting.

I have an EVGA 1300w plugged into 1 and a half SP20s. that pulls about 1100w. The 1600w is plugged into the 2 remaining PCI-E sockets on the 2nd one, the 4 on the 3rd and again 2 on the 4th. That pulls about 1400w from the wall. There are only 9 PCI-E sockets on the 1600w PSU

I think I'll swap out the 1300w and get another 1600w, then I can power all 4 across 2 PSUs leaving about 2-300w spare

The unit on the left is a tumble dryer !!

Hey what's the best underclocking W/GH that was achieved? What start voltage?

Mining Rate: 770.07Ghs
Temp Front / Back T,B    14 °C / 29,28 °C
Fan Speed    40
Start Voltage    0.58 / 0.58 / 0.58 / 0.58
Max Voltage    0.6
Wall wattage 380

It's clingy if you want to go lower!

That setting crashed the 2 i own they can not run at that low 0.58 voltage i have put the fan at 30 since its pretty nice cold here.
the lowest i can get them started is at 0.6

did not work for me Sad

edit: worked after another reboot

oh so 4.8 is required? psh... need a firmware upgrade =/ or howto on changing lol

https://www.westhash.com/index.jsp?p=software#asic

The README in the file includes instructions--don't skip the cp commands that effectively make a backup of the original cgminer.

Or try a 'Reboot' from the miner home page, latest firmware of course.  It just worked for me on all of my miners.  (Yeah, I know I said previously that I tried restarts and reboots to no avail. Maybe my previous reboot attempts were x.51 firmware or something, I think that's when ex sub flag option first showed up..?)

Thanks for the heads up! I'll go out shopping tomorrow for one of those dongles listed, and hopefully I'll be able to get it working. The ethernet cable is really taking up a ton of space as it effectively cordons out a part of the room.

http://support.netgear.com/product/wnce2001

I use these for a few miners...they are cheap and reliable.

SOOOOOPERB. Spondoolies are going wireless  Grin

this pleases me immensely.

John, did you get these running wirelessly?  Care to give us any insight?

Cheers.
