dollar will keep its popularity over btc for many years, but maybe will see it someday at btc'knees

It is popular, even bitcoin has a high price, dollar still is at top. Without dollar, bitcoin will have no value, the price of bitcoin has price, and it's price is on dollar and other fiats. There is no way dollar will be on bitcoin knees, because even a lot of century will pass, bitcoin will never have a knee  Roll Eyes

There's no reason to say that without the USD Bitcoin wouldn't have any value. Things have value regardless of how many currencies there are in what world. If the USD didn't exist, there would be another medium of exchange used in the United States, and the price of Bitcoin could be known in that medium. It may be true that Bitcoin would have reduced value, but that's another question entirely since it's the excess wealth allowed by our current stable financial system that creates the excess to drive up the value of speculative assets like Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a remarkably low utility outside of gambling like that

Well, I remember you were saying quite the opposite not so long ago

That Bitcoin without the US dollar is not long for this world either and will quickly kick the bucket. So what made you change your mind? Though you seem to have pinpointed the main cause for excessive speculation (which is what currently gives Bitcoin value, not the US dollar itself, of course), i.e. the excessive (unused) wealth, which has no real-life application and which thus gets poured into speculative assets (like Bitcoin)

There's some nuance in what I'm saying. As theory, the fact that the USD goes to zero would not mean Bitcoin would go to zero just because its denominated in dollars. This is true because there are other currencies to value an asset in. As a practical matter, I do believe that the failure of the US dollar would render Bitcoin much less valuable (not necessarily valueless). I still believe that it is the excess wealth created by a stable world economy (possible because of the stability of the USD) that gives speculative assets the bulk of their value. I think these ideas are consistent with what I've usually said on these boards. If not, I owe it to an evolution of ideas as I read more perspectives, or poorly communicated previous posts.

Every countries knows dollar and USD is the basis of economic growth of one country specially in third world country. It exist since the money created and comparing to bitcoin it's popularity my answer is no. It because there are many countries didn't know bitcoin.

Well i have to agree. Btc may be growing in popularity and demand nowadays but its still very far from the status of the dollar as the main currrency in the market. Bitcoin still has a long way to go and probably will still expeeience many changes along the way before it can compete with the dollar and fiat in general

It is normal if the other countries or most of the countries doesn't know bitcoin because it is common for a new currency since it is just starting to build itself towards the internet and the market so if bitcoin will completely makes something true like if it is already built its reputation and itself then that is the only thing where countries will start to take actions to get into bitcoin.

is bitcoin more popular than US Dollar ?
For now bitcoin is not as popular as United States of American dollars (USD). The fiat call dollars has been existing for a decade and is the major world currencies, most of the international transactions and contract are being values in USD. Bitcoin is just and infant when it comes to popularity .
Yeah I agree but in the first place both are good and should not be compared, USD will dominate the financial world or the world which is
govern by the government but bitcoin is the leading currency in the crypto world where decentralization is being endorse.

Nope, bitcoin is not popular than usd because of the fact that usd still dominates the world and bitcoin is still growing, plus the transaction fees that is increased drastically is also why some people are considering bitcoin unworthy without even considering its value as a major plus point,so wait for bitcoin to be properly introduced and accepted to all countries and then talk about which is better, usd or btc.

Usd is more popular than Bitcoin without any doubt as usd has been around for centuries but Bitcoin has been around for seven or so years. Usd is regarded as world currency and it has way more acceptable than Bitcoin. Usd is also more stable than Bitcoin which makes it better.

USD is more popular now and bitcoin still needs a lot of time for not so advanced in technology person to start to understand and use bitcoin. If you take a look around we can observe this, but I think that in next 2-3 years people in majority will understand this technology.

Well i don't think its nit that difficult.to understand how btc works. It's just that its not yet time that people see bitcoin as something that can replace the dollar. It's now mostly seen as a formnof investment to earn money amd for holding. In a few years it may develop into something more than that in people's minds, but not to challenge dollar supremacy

Usd is way way more popular than bitcoin. Usd is known as international currency because it is accepted everywhere but bitcoin's acceptance is limited to lesser number of people.moreover usd is way more stable than Bitcoin so i think usd is better and more popular.

USD is well known since its really a fiat of countries but btc is for technological or more advance transaction and have more greater value.

It is not entirely correct to compare these two currencies. They can only complement each other, rather than compete among themselves.
Yeah should not compare between bitcoin and dollar. You should be grateful for the dollar because the first dollar is the base of the bitcoin rate. And although the bitcoin rate is very high though, it will not make the dollar lose

yeah we can not compare bitcoin with dollar because bitcoin have do not any physical shape and dollar have a physical shape but i hope bitcoin will make the dollar lose sooner because bitcoin have a mass adoption every day and bitcoin is very much useful currency around the world for online transaction.

Well, it is basically a bitcoin and also the USD has a market or a very different place. For every currency has advantages and also a place of their own, the USD is very suitable for use as a tool of trade and also the BTC is very suitable for investment. Although bitcoin can be used for trade, transactions, etc. But for now this is bitcoin according to me is very suitable for investment, because now the bitcoin started first settled themselves in shelter users

No. Bitcoin is available only to those who have a computer and the Internet, now many have not even heard of it and do not know what to do with it.

Both of them are just a tool, there's no need to think that one thing is nothing compared to the other just because the other one has a physical form. Debit cards also have a physical form, but its value resides in the digital world, yet we still put value to it just like how we value paper money. Bitcoin can also have that. Bitcoin can have a paper wallet, which is in physical form, but the value would also reside in the digital world. You can also buy physical bitcoin coins which has a wallet in it.

I definitely don't think that you really meant what "bitcoin have a mass adoption every day" actually meant. Because if so, then there should be billions using bitcoins as of now which is just false.

Now the price of the bitcoin has reached $2800 and looks like it will continue to be strengthened, I expect this year will reach the bitcoin price $5000 or more and will never drop to levels below the $2000.

Of course one day can reach $ 5000, although we do not know exactly when the price increase can be achieved, but of course this is only hope bitcoin users, because until now not accurate data that provides certainty about bitcoin.

I doubt bitcoin will reach $5000 this year, it is reaching $2800 but I don't think it will be reaching even $4000. I think it will take another 1 year before it reaches $5000. The bitcoin price is very unpredictable and we still don't know if it will be really happening.
