Well, this is my own review...

I did the installation with a simple laptop and not too high on Windows 10 OS, i3, 8GB Ram, SSD, everything went well, there were no problems where the application was lagging or there were other crashes, everything I felt was running as usual.

I tried to create an account before and it doesn't require any e-mail because the Utopia project is only designed for high anonymity and only requires a username with a unique password after all that is done so I can store private keys or with Seed Phrase this makes it easy me and just need to keep well with his records.

About Channels

There are so many channels almost touching these 4k because maybe many communities are active by creating new community groups but I see not so many are active except on Utopia's main channel "Utopia Chat Lobby" Here there is a lot of interaction and providing lots of information meaning people are getting happier inside here I will try to explore more of what was informed and with this channel, the Utopia community will get stronger and bigger.

In the Chat feature, there are so many emojis, and being able to send files that have been provided certainly makes it easier for us to use because this is a better feature provided by Utopia.

Another one in all channels has a star rating and the highest is 3 stars, does this mean 3 stars is interactive a lot? Then what about 5 stars I don't see that and the most is 1 star.
Not a problem with that just out of curiosity.



Poker Game

Trying to make a table but after everything is done I'm waiting for some players to come but it looks like it will be difficult because I can't find an opponent to play at this Poker, I don't know if there are fans playing here?
How do we find other tables except by looking at the table we created ourselves?
To be honest, I'm glad that Utopia provides a game, but it's still very imperfect because there are still many shortcomings that occur here. I hope they develop more in the future to make it easier for us to play poker without making a table first.

Utopia AI

Helped a little by AI Chat which is integrated on the Utopia platform, it makes it easier for us to ask something that we are having difficulty with. Chat AI makes it easier for us to do something here, so this will be even more complex and that is my opinion about Utopia AI.

I have tried to make several statements in Chat AI and were answered faster and found the answer I was looking for, meaning that Chat AI is functioning well even though there are some problems where Chat comes a little later than usual but I admit that with this feature Utopia is a little more perfect than other applications that I found, especially since it provides a lot of features.

I don't display Chat AI pictures because it's a private secret for me.

Swap feature and more

After receiving 5 CRP to test in this platform.
First, I did a swap from CRP to UUSD and from UUDS to CRP, everything went well, there were no problems, plus it didn't take long and only waited about 1 minute or so, and that's what I experienced when I swapped.
With a rate of 1 CRP = 0.51 UUSD



The existence of uVouchers makes it easy for us to send vouchers to fellow users or share Vouchers with anyone, with no specific time limit, of course with this feature it's easier to give gifts to anyone, for example in UUSD or CRP

With the history feature, it's easier for us to see all the transactions that we make, maybe this is common because part of the history is always there, but Utopia always adds the best in all the features it provides.

Making a CRP Crypto Card with a minimum of 3 CRP I did that and wanted to see what I can do with this card so what I understand we can store in the Utopia wallet and also in the card for the balance maybe in the future I will do a top up and keep some balance there to see more its function, for now CRP still not enough.

There are many other things, but I think this is more important, in my opinion, it should be reviewed.

Idyll Browser

I opened a search in this browser that has been provided by Utopia (Idyll Browser) after searching in this browser I can't use it even though I refreshed this browser several times and the results are still unable to access any sites from this?

There is always a statement "Server not Found" Then I opened the Web proxy and a few searches there were the same there even a little late I opened the mempool the screen went blank black and there was no reaction whatsoever, maybe this is still in the development stage so it's not so perfect what that I see.

uMail

This feature only seems to be used for fellow Utopia users because I tried with another email it couldn't send it, so this is designed in such a way only for convenience, for example when we make a deposit or withdrawal from crypton.exchange there will be a notification through this uMail but unfortunately this is only fellow not for all email bases.

Crypton exchange

After that I tried trading here, there is no difference with other exchanges it's almost the same it's just that this is specifically for CRP exchanges although there are several other exchanges that trade CRP I prefer to do it here because it's simpler and also easier than other exchanges.

I've only traded a few times and haven't made any withdrawals because it's limited, there will be times when I try to withdraw the assets there because I'm also getting more and more interested in using this platform.
I also follow Utopia's twitter apparently there is also a giveaway and I can get it if I'm lucky, of course if I'm lucky I'll have the time to make some more trades here.

Android version
I will not explain more about this mobile version because the features here are not very complete, so I don't feel comfortable when using Android and more on the desktop version as the best version.

In conclusion
I hope that more of the Utopia community will use this platform, there are still a number of things that need to be improved to make it easier and for the convenience of the community.

For the rest I am satisfied.

My Review of Utopia Ecosystem

Installation and First Login
I downloaded and installed the app smoothly on my desktop. I'm using a Windows 10 i7 7th gen processor with 16 GB of ram. I created a wallet and stored my private key then I manage to enter the wallet to read the brief welcome summary. This summary is very helpful to understand easily the functionality of the wallet because the wallet has a lot of features which normal users can't understand.


Chat feature
While waiting for my 5CRP to arrive in my wallet. I go to the chat of the wallet for my requirements on Utopia Free Raffle which I win back to back first place in the last 2 rounds. I have fun using the chat because the user is very helpful and insightful. I manage to have a friend that I can play with on poker games.


Games
I hope that Utopia can add play with a bot with their poker so that users can play and I try the game without other people. I think the reason why there's always no activity on the poker table is that people don't have a reason to stay since no one in there. With bot players, It can make some people stay while still waiting for other players.


I encounter some bugs too that the table that I created still remains active while I already leave the table. It stays there for more than a minute as you can see on the screenshot below.



Exchange
Since I don't know someone to transfer my CRP for a test, I decided to just send it on the exchange so that I can try the crypton exchange. I'm surprised by how quick and easy to create an exchange account since it only requires my public key and a verification email on my Umail.

The exchange has a huge volume and liquidity which is ideal for trading because of the small price spread. I noticed too that they have an ongoing airdrop at that time for 3 traders that do a 100$ trade every 3 hours so I decided to add more USDT to be qualified. I didn't manage to win but it's still good because I manage to try the deposit function of exchange from the exterior wallet aside from Utopia wallet.



Everything went smoothly because I manage to withdraw my funds from my crypton exchange to my exterior wallet.
 

Conclusion:
Utopia P2P Ecosystem is a full package for crypto users because it offers almost everything crypto people need such as wallet, social, exchange, marketplace, mining and many more. I'm sure that this project will succeed in due time because the project is a gem. I'm planning to hold a good bag of CRP when I get my job salary. Thanks for this opportunity to try and review this amazing project!

Review to Utopia P2P Ecosystem



Downloading of the App:

As I saw this thread and have been messaged by Joe, I've tried to install the Utopia for me to test and explore the app so I could give an honest review in a perspective of a normal user of this App. Let's start with the installation, the site gives me different download that can be suitable for my desktop like Windows, Android and etc. So I've installed the Windows since I am using one. Upon the installation it was too fast that I estimate it only took about half of an hour for me to fully download the Utopia. I could select the file where I can put the files incase my drive is full which I did since my PC can't install apps unless I choose the other drive. And before we proceed to app there would be a tab that you would fill to continue like anonymous name that you prefer and most importantly is your public key.


Thoughts

I like how the app have some options for the users to pick like to customize their theme whatever they like it could be dark theme or light theme. But after the welcome tab appear when I exit it, I don't know what to explore first and what to do since there's no guide like it shows or point per step where I could see the basic like finding the channels something like that. But since the App itself looks nostalgic to me since app way back before looks like this so I think it's still commendable.

With that problem I tried to use the "Help" to find some answers to my every questions. At first I thought you would need to sign anything just to open help like your Google account, but it surprisingly helpful since all of your questions and step is already in there on the list. So After that I tried to explore more and interact with the community so I tried joining channel.

Channel

It's actually confusing for me since when I joined the App you couldn't close the tab of the Channel. So I thought joining some other channel would be also included on that tab, so I used the "Help" to search regarding in joining some channels but I saw it in the Tools. I just want to recommend to put the Channel Manager in the Channel Tab itself for new user could easily join some new channel. Or just simply add "+" icon for them to click then it would show them the channels they could join in the App. And I found the channel manager which doesn't looks like it so maybe just put it in the channel itself not on the top.

Also I think the community is dead literally so maybe have some events? For them to be lively like a community game where there would be prizes so people would always check the Utopia and wait for some events.

Games

That's actually cute to have games in this App with your friends plus those games are literally mind games. In the poker there's actually literally bet so it would be more fun. But it would be also good if you can play solo in this kinds of game incase your friends are offline so you could pass time. Maybe you could add some more like the OG pass time game the solitaire.

uWallet

So let's go ahead to the uWallet, after Joe sent me 5CRP then I tried to try the transactions that can be done with 5CRP. First swapping to UUSD, it was actually fast after swapping it gave me a notification directly to my laptop regarding to the transaction was done which is good. In the history it also shows the fee that has been deducted like the Network fee for users to be aware. There's also cryptocards that looks dope! Vouchers and the Airdrop is pretty good thinking for the users itself could be active in the App. That's why I'm confused why I already have 0.01 CRP. I haven't tried the mining since you would have need to start with 64 CRP which I think it's pretty high. I would like to say about the decimals when swapping so people would be aware how much should be swapped.

My Profile

There's no actually something in here I just found the uCode for the public key since it would be hard to type it out incase you don't have the copy. So it's a good thinking to have that QR code. And the referral maybe it would be needed some verification or anti VPN so people wouldn't abused to make dummy accounts for it.

Utopia AI

I also seen the Utopia AI where it really works like the famous AI right now but I wouldn't want to mention it. But dang I didn't expect that to really work but the only thing it needs improvement is the delay since I've already asked 3 questions but it answered delay maybe it's processing the question and finding some answers that's why it take so long. But as a user of course you would expect an answer without a pause. Maybe you could add some "bubble chat" the thing that showing when you are typing so people could expect a thing that it is processing. Or like "wait for a second" thing since it has the delay.


Conclusion:

So overall, I have concluded that there's already a lot of features in this app. Like the network below that couldn't be seen in some other Apps. It really has the potential for a P2P systems but there's a lot for you to improve. I am a person that "quality over quantity" quote something like that, but this app it lacks something that could hook some person once they saw this app and after installing it. Maybe the visuals? I think it needs to not look plain so it wouldn't look boring for people to use since that's already my impression with the app. Just saying my reviews, it really needs something that it would look like a well invested p2p app where people could trust their funds in it.

Before I forgot there's also thing that I have a problem, when I am trying to exit my Utopia it is still running but the screen is already gone. But I keep hearing notifications means it's on so when I tried to open it , it won't open so I literally have to restart my desktop to make it run again. I don't know if it's only in my case but I have this experience with the Utopia. That's all I would love to see some improvement and good luck. God bless!

Introduction
After all my troubles, I was finally able to test Utopia P2P Ecosystem and therefore, I am posting my review. We'll talk about the desktop version.

Initially, I also wanted to add screenshots, but after looking at others, I decided not to do this, because I won’t be able to bring anything radically new in view of the fact that all screenshots will be almost the same (except for the balance numbers, for example).

It all started with the fact that the website didn't want to open without VPN (to download the installer). So, if someone doesn't open, solve this problem in this way. Then it was not possible to create an account and gave an error. I had to close app, repeat everything over again and this time, it worked out successfully. The next unpleasantness was this - link to my post.

I strongly recommend making a backup of the private key: file -> backup of the private key -> enter the password -> copy the private key or seed phrase.

After all these circles of hell small hitches (the problems are not terrible and solvable, but took a little longer than I expected), I still managed to test some functions of this ecosystem. Not all, but I'll tell you what I did.

Installation.
There is nothing unusual and complicated: I downloaded Utopia app from the official website, installed it and launched. Create an account and start using it right away. Any modern person can handle it.

First impression.
A welcome window appears, immediately prompting you to select 4 types of theme design: light and dark tones. A good feature, because depending on the time of day, you can choose the design that suits the current moment.

Having passed this stage, the application itself appeared before my eyes. Here I was a little confused by the abundance of different tabs and windows, the clutter of everything. But that's just the first impression. If you scroll through all the tabs one by one, carefully reviewing and remembering everything, then I don’t see anything critical in this. I will not dwell on the listing and description of standard tabs, because others have already done this for me more than once. My goal is to express my opinion and share my thoughts. Which is what I'm going to do with full force.

The first thing I did was to convert the 5 CRP that I received for the test (the “swap” tab). I did it in both directions and didn't see anything super-unusual either. I will say that this is done in a couple of clicks and happens quickly enough.

The next thing was that I copied the first public key I saw posted in this thread and @Lorence.xD turned out to be the owner. I sent 0.1 CRP to his address (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.62306344). I received a message about the successful completion of the transaction and now it remains to wait for a response from @Lorence.xD and confirmation. Man, post back if you can. Keep in mind, this is not a collusion with him, but spontaneous improvisation.

Created crypto card. It turned out to be a pleasant moment that you can set the name of the card, choose the color scheme of the design (shades, of course, want to be better) and customize (you can choose the first 4 digits, but for a fee. Step 6-12-24-48 CRP for each symbol - in general something, an expensive option). I don't know what's the point of creating this card if you can use a public key to accept payment. It seems to me that for the average user there will not be much difference.

Mining could not be tested, because a minimum balance of 64 CRP is required.

I also have nothing to add about the airdrop and I will say that I personally didn't receive a single 1 CRP. How lucky am I or have I just had too little time online (the chances increase with time spent online with app).

Entertainment.
There are 2 built-in games.
Chess - I couldn't test it, because I need contacts to invite to play.
Poker - for all the time I saw a table for the game, created by another user only 1 time and for participation it was necessary to be able to have a rather high amount of CRP. The table created by me was not responded to even once. Verdict, this application is not an alternative to gambling.

I don’t think the game tab is very necessary in this ecosystem, because users come here for other purposes. In general, I think that these functions are essentially dead and removing them will not change anything.

My verdict.
In general, Utopia P2P Ecosystem creates a positive impression, but I have not spent much time on it and this is only a superficial analysis. As a user, my biggest concern is the privacy, confidentiality and security of this ecosystem. Combining many functions in one application creates additional risks: if access is lost or your data is compromised, then the user will immediately lose everything. Not to mention that data leakage or theft will occur on the part of the service provider. The next point: it seems that there are few users, people don't have a great need for the ecosystem at the moment, but I think there is potential. Let's see how much the platform will unwind over time and perhaps there will be more revival.

Personally, the ecosystem doesn't attract me at all (sorry,
@joeperry, even despite the declared reward for the review, I will only express my personal opinion) in terms of functionality. I follow the principle of "don't put all your eggs in one basket". All those actions that app offers, I can carry out with separate and third-party applications.

I wish the project good luck and further development, and I am sure that you will still find your user, because there will definitely be a certain demand for your services. Most importantly, value your customers, their privacy and security of their funds. This should come first for you. The pursuit of quick profit will destroy any, even a high-quality project with good potential.

Main point:
#Don't be like a Ledger: when they say one thing and do another.

Before I get to the review, I want to talk about something which bothered me. I was looking around in the website and I saw that 1xbet was mentioned in the "merchants" tab. I didn't like this. Maybe 1xbet is sponsoring this project but I don't know if the dev knows about their scammy activities.



This casino is a very shady one and listing them in your website isn't going to help you imo. I would rather delete them from that page and refuse to get paid by them. Many people in this forum had a negative trust rating just because they joined their signature campaigns and they pay above the average to their participants... but we all know there are stuff money can't buy in this life. For everything else... use bitcoin.

Now we can continue with the review.

1. Installation:

I am testing this software on a Linux Mint v20.1 virtual machine and I downloaded the .deb file (ubuntu-debian version) from this page: https://u.is/en/download.html

The installation process was very easy. I just double clicked the file which I downloaded and clicked install. (I took the screenshot after the installation, sorry about that)



After the installation I run the program right away and a nice login page appeared before me.



Since I didn't have an account, I clicked "Create new account". Click "next" a few times, wrote down my public key and after 1 or 2 minutes I am in the app now.



2. First Impressions:

There were 4 theme choices (2 dark, 2 light) and I went with the "dark theme" because my eyes don't like them bright colors anymore.



I tried the classic version of the same theme but I didn't like the design of it. The difference wasn't really that big but basically the dev used square shaped buttons in the classic themes and round corner buttons in the normal themes. Also some icons have a more classical looking in the classic themes but it is not really noticeable.

Then I stared to read about the features of this app so I could better understand what I am dealing with.



I see this is an app for sending instant messages, an email service, a chat service (like discord), a crypto wallet, a web browser which you can use to visit websites hosted in utopia network (that's the most interesting feature so far) and a mining software.

After clicking "next" two times more, there is something even more interesting comes up.



This app actually uses ChatGPT to assist you and the best part is... you can do whatever you like with it and it is completely free! After realizing that I can use this app just for this feature alone I decided to chat with the "assistant". Read the picture. You can do with this anything you want.

She will answer questions on any topic. Provide recommendations, do translations, emotional support, medical advice, legal guidance... anything. I know you can do all these on chatgpt's own website but we don't know how long it will stay free for us. (maybe it is not even free nowadays, i don't know the last news)



3. Chatting with the AI:

This is where I get my first disappointment with this app. Everything was going so well so far but arguably the best feature of this app just failed me. Let me explain it further.

When I ask simple tasks from the AI, it responded me very fast but the moment I asked it to write me some (moderately complicated) code... it never responded. For example I wanted it to write me a simple snake game in javascript and it never returned me an answer. I tried the same thing at https://chat.openai.com/ and I got an answer right away.



Then I asked it another question to see if froze or not, but it returned me with an answer almost instantly... So my final conclusion is, the AI on this app isn't as good as the ChatGPT itself. It is a dumbed down version of the real thing.




4. CPU & Bandwidth Usage:

While I was taking my time with the AI, I realized that my computer making too much fan noise. I immediately saw that I am sending and receiving so much data and using lots of CPU power.



Since I am new to this tech I don't really know what is happening here but a regular consumer would not want to leave this app open for long hours because I can clearly see that it is going to cause some performance troubles on the computer. Another disappointment for me. It is not a lightweight app like electrum-wallet app. This is sending data, receiving data, using your CPU and possibly mining some stuff with your CPU. Like I said, I am yet to know all the details but the final result is something I didn't like.



5. Poker Time!



Since OP sent me some CRP to test this software, I decided to test it the best way possible. Spending them on Poker   I created a 8 person public table and started to wait... and waited... and waited some more... nobody joined. Waited like 10 minutes nobody came to play with me. Then I left the table and the app gave me my 0.1 crp back. At least I didn't get scammed for sitting at my own table.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One more disappointment added to the list. But it is OK, I am not big on gambling anyway.



6. The rest of the app:

The rest of the stuff is you know a chat app which you can chat with random people... this seems to work as intended. You can't easily mess this one up.

An email service, I can't see why would anybody leave gmail for this but still cool regardless....

A crypto wallet. Send/Receive seems to work because I can clearly see the 0.1 CRP's I sent and received during my poker adventure. (It took 0.1 CRP from my wallet the moment I sit at the table and gave it back after I leave the game)

And that's pretty much it...

Overall I think this app has a great potential and I believe it will get better with the right fixes.

You were right. The file has been saved elsewhere. Before that, I tried to find it using the file name (I had it recorded) in the search, but for some reason the system could not find it anywhere. Desperate with unsuccessful searches, I decided to create a new account and what was my surprise when I saw my .db file in the directory (where the container is created) when creating a new container. I just copied the path (still can't find where it is) and put that path in utopia app when logging into my account. As a result, successfully.

Suddenly someone will come in handy after my troubles.


Hello and sorry for your concern. Indeed, @examplens gave me hope for finding this ill-fated file. The truth is, it couldn't really vanish.

I first encounter Utopia back in 2019 when the ICOs are having a hard time and its hard to find good projects with good potential, they are just starting out and they are creating an ecosystem that is decentralized in nature where everything is inclusive, where everything a user needs for all his/her online experience is included.

I have the software downloaded and running it on my computer but unfortunately, I cannot keep up because of my work offline and was more on my mobile phone than on my PC and because I have a shared computer with my student brothers they uninstalled it with my permission.

Utopia is the first and so far the only all-in-one decentralized community everything you're looking for in a community is all here, you name it they have it and when there's a new concept and trend on the internet they are going to come out one for the community and customized it for their decentralized ecosystem

Utopia is a software-based platform to be able to access all the features I need to install and download the software I'm using a Windows Operating  System I downloaded the window version and run the software when you run the software it will ask you to provide a username and the first and last name the form recommend if you want to be anonymous then you can leave blank I left that blank, created a password



After I run the software I access the private key which is very important for you to be able to access all your files, chats, and tokens if ever you want to transfer to another computer or on your cellphone you can find it on the file page click it and scroll on the back up private key, you will need a password to access that I access it get a copy of my private key and kept it where I kept where all my other private keys



The new Utopia features are far better and enhance than the old one, almost everything you need are all here you can invite your friend for easy communication you just need their Public Key or uNS of your friend to add them to your contact, I'll add my friends contact later after I invited them here.
You can only use this Umail for Utopian users and its useless to use this feature from other email providers,


The chat channels allow you to chat with other users of the network you can message other members of the network if they allow incoming messages, so far in y dashboard I have two active chat channels these are the lobby and the mining support, the Utopi Chat lobby room is for helping each other with Utopia and the other is the mining support both are public channel, there are over 3900 channels in the network you can join channels that interest you and you can create your own channel too



Crypto card is one of its best features With a Crypto card I can pay with additional comfort and convenience with the 5 CRP I received I create one for myself if I want to customize my Crypto card I will have to add more CRP to cover the customization



After I created my Crypto card I top up my card with my remaining balance, now I can use my Cryptocard for my transaction




One of the features that attracted me to be more active and to use Utopia as often as I can is the airdrop feature by just being online hopefully I can be one of the receivers of this airdrop
So far I still receive nothing even though my software is online for 5 to 6 hours daily after I first used it but let's see in the coming days.
My question is how many times can you receive an airdrop and is there activities that qualify you to get picked in the airdrop?



You can make residual income from Utopia by actively promoting the platform
Utopia has an active referral program you can earn 1 USSD direct referral and 0.5 USSD for 2nd level referral
I have activated my referral code so I can invite my friends



Utopia is one of the projects that we should all belong to and support it has all the decentralized features that we are all looking for  I become aware of it because of the signature campaign.

I just opened the software after getting invited and I am amazed at the many added features its a complete community with progressive and active developers, two of the things that a project must have to be fully adopted.
It's a fully decentralized community, with no tracking, no data collection no advertising.


I'm very bullish on the potential of CRP they have very active marketing they have a referral program and all the features one who adheres to decentralization are looking for, are all here or will be added.

This is the platform that keeps giving to what the Crypto community is looking I'm looking for CRP to have a hundred times increase in the bull trend.

I just hope they can keep up with the promotion and keep adding more features, I wonder if they are open to creating a casino for the community and using CRP for staking or collaborating with existing casinos to accept CRP if possible

When starting up and creating a new account for the first time, there is an option to customize the location for the wallet files. Maybe then you set some other non-default target.
If I were you, I would still search the disk space. The wallet file is in the format of something you entered during the creation of username.db

Hello again.

After you informed me in a personal letter that 5 CRP was added to the balance of my public key, I decided to check it out and, when I have free time, test your ecosystem and compile a review.

But something went wrong.

I started the application and saw field "select account container" empty. Container's name (the file in the directory /opt/utopia/messenger) should have been displayed here by default, which corresponds to the account nickname. The most surprising thing was that this file simply disappeared from the system and now I can’t access my account (just don’t voice conspiracy theories that someone close to deleted this file from PC and don’t offer platitudes, like check the trash etc).

I have my account password, public key and nothing else. Without an encrypted container, it's just useless data. I can't import the account because there is no private key or seed phrase. Yes, it's my fault, because I didn't take care that I didn't save this data and didn't make backups of the container file.

Now my question.
Can the project support help restore access to this account? If at all possible and not time consuming. Maybe then it's easier for me to create a new account, to which you will send another 5 CRP, so that I can leave feedback on the project?

You can deduct the previous 5 CRP, sent from my reward.

Introduction

Utopia is a P2P client that allow the users to chat, e-mail, and have conversation with each other in a decentralized way. The system provides anonymous payments and it is a very useful application for many users who prefer privacy over other things. I have installed the desktop client of Utopia and I was intrigued by the interface. The UI of Utopia desktop client was very simple and user-friendly. The user interface of the client is very nostalgic, it remind me of the days of Windows XP, in those days most of the applications used to have similar interfaces. The client has many features like chatting, e-mailing, and there are channels where you can communicate with other members of the community.

Installation

Utopia client comes with a well-packaged installer especially for windows operating system. The installation was very easy and super fast. I used a pretty basic spec laptop that had intel m3 7y30 processor, 8 GB ram, and a simple hard drive. Even with those specs the installer was super fast and I had no issues during installation. It took almost 1 and half minute to compete the installation. After the installation I launched the Utopia client and the registration window popped up.



After clicking on create new account button I came to the following page where I entered my nickname, my first and last name, and clicked on next button.



After that step the registration page took me to this page where I selected the Encrypted Container location and chosen a password and clicked on Finish button. The registration was completed and I came to Utopia client.



It took me around 3-5 minutes to complete the installation and registration. The process of installation and registration was smooth without any slowdowns or any kind of lagging. Following is the picture of the interface that popped up after I clicked on the registration page.

       

Now that I had access to the interface I started exploring the features of the Utopia Client. I first clicked on file and a window popped down that included the following sub-windows: My Profile, Export Database, Change Password, Backup Private Key, Wipe Encrypted Container, uNS Database, Lock application, Sign out, and Exist. After that I clicked on Edit, then on Search, and then uMail, and finally on Uwallet.

Channels

I have clicked on the channels from the main interface window, and I joined some channels of the client. But, I found that most of the channels had few users and even the channels that had some users were almost silent. I have clicked on a channel name Utopia Chat Lobby and sent the message “Hello Utopia community.” I joined some other channels and  found that the channels were pretty fast and there wasn’t any delay in loading of the channels.

After observing deeply I found that there are around 3900 channels on Utopia client so I decided to create my own channel just for testing purpose. I clicked on create channel button and I selected the basic settings, from those settings I named the channel as “Testing” and clicked on preview channel button, and after that create channel button appeared I clicked on that  and the channel was created instantly.



After that I clicked on uWallet and I was taken to uWallet window. At uWallet windows there were many features available such as send CRP or Get CRP, and create Crypto Cards, Shop with Cryptons, Swap, uVocher, Request Cryptons, Mining, History and others.



Once I viewed the features I started testing them one by one. I started clicking on Get Cryptons button and I was taken to Crypton exchange. The exchange was simple and had the options to buy and sell crypton for other stable coins like USDT. I clicked on send and I was taken to Send Cryptons page. At that page I saw the following options. I had the option to send CRP and my balance was 5 CRP, but I had no public key of the users or their crypto cards so I skipped that page.



Swapping

I clicked on swap window and I was taken to a page where I had the option to swap CRP with UUSD. I started testing the feature by swapping  1 CRP, and at the time of swapping the price of 1 CRP was equal to 0.52 UUSD. After selecting the amount I clicked on exchange button.



The transaction was fast it took few seconds only.  Once I swapped the CRP to UUSD I tried to swap it back to CRP but this message appeared “The minimum exchange amount is 1 UUSD,” and I have gone to swap some more CRP into UUSD so that I could swap the UUSD back into CRP. This time I started swapping 1.2 CRP for UUSD and the amount in UUSD was around 0.63, I clicked on exchange. This time the transaction took 2 minutes to complete. After this step something happened that I didn’t like about the client and I think that thing should be changed. I was trying to swap the UUSD back to CRP but when I clicked on available UUSD on Receive window the swapping happened inversely. Instead of it getting swapped to CRP, the more CRP were swapped into UUSD.  After that I was thinking that what’s happening, and I started swapping once again this time I selected the amount of UUSD in send window rather than in receive window and clicked on exchange. It almost took around 2 minutes again and the transaction was completed.

   

Creating of a Crypto Card

Once I was done with swapping I clicked on Crypto Cards window.  I have entered my name on card and selected the color yellow and clicked on Create Card button. The fee for the card was around 3 CRP and after clicking on the Create Card button a window popped up with message “Do you want to proceed to create new Crypto Card now?” And there were two buttons one was of yes and other was no, so I clicked on yes button and the card was created instantly. This feature is really awesome and the cost of Crypto card is far cheaper than others.

uVoucher
After creating the Crypto Card I clicked on uVoucher tab and I was taken to a page where I had two options one was “Activate uVoucher” and the other was “Create new uVoucher.”  I had no uVoucher to activate so I clicked on Create new uVoucher, and created a uVoucher of 0.01 CRP, the network fee was around 0.15% and the total amount to pay for creation of uVoucher was around 0.010015 CRP, and I clicked on Create uVoucher button. A message appeared “Waiting for network confirmation” and within 10 seconds the uVoucher was created. After that I copied the code of uVoucher and pasted it into Activate uVoucher window and clicked on arrow sign button. A message appeared “Activating uVoucher,” and within few seconds the uVoucher was activated.


uMail

I checked the uMail feature to see that how it works. The mailbox appeared to be similar to other e-mail services but I like the simplicity of the interface. The following features were present in the uMail, Inbox, Sent, Outbox, Drafts, Trash, and some other features were also present in the mail. I clicked on the button to send someone a mail via the uMail, but I was unable to send anyone a mail because I had no one uMail address so that I can send the mail to the person. I think the uMail will work for Utopia users only because I tried to send a mail to my Gmail account but I was unable to do so.

Utopia AI

I must say that the Utopia AI is truly a good feature in the client.  The AI assistant was pretty fast and answered my question quickly. I even asked it that how I can play games, the AI came with a very long answer similar to ChatGPT. This feature makes Utopia unique because now with the help of this feature we can easily communicate with the AI assistant and get our answers quickly without any lag or any issue of login that we face with ChatGPT. However, I recommend Utopia team to add another AI assistant dedicated to Utopia own client so it can provide only information regarding the client and its features.

uNS Records

I clicked on uNS records and tried to create my own uNS record but unfortunately the cost was way higher than my expectations. The fee for registration of the name was around 1024 CRP which is higher than $500 USD, and that’s why I had to skip that feature because the fee is way high for the feature.

Idyll Browser

I tried to use this browser but I was unable to visit any website with this browser. I even entered web URL addresses myself to test the browser, but unfortunately it didn’t worked for me. I still tried sites like Google, Bing, CNN, and others to check if it might work with any of them, but still it wasn’t loading any site. I think this feature can only load some sites that might be of decentralized nature. However, I was unable to find any such sites on Utopia Browser and that’s why I stopped testing the browser any further.

uMaps

After testing the Idyll browser I came to uMaps feature. The feature took me to a map similar to google maps but with very basic settings. Once in the maps feature I noticed that the client showed the location of the channels that were present on the client. I clicked on some coordinates that included number over them, I found many channels and their location on map. The feature is not helpful in decentralization but still it’s a good feature for locating channels of your own language.

Web Proxy

After testing the uMaps I clicked on web proxy feature. The feature took me to Idyll browser and entered a site named “https://proxy.tt” and the site was working very well. I searched google on that page and it took me to Google’s page, and I searched trace IP to check that which country’s IP was given to me. After tracing the IP address I found that the server was located in Seychelles. I must say the feature is a good one and can help you to browse the pages that are restricted in your jurisdiction.

Utopia Poker

After testing all other features, I finally had to test the poker game. I really love playing poker and when I found it on Utopia I decided to give it a try. In order to play the poker I needed to create a table. So, I created a table with blinds range 0.002/0.001 CRP, and that’s the lowest we can select. After that I named it as “Test Game,”  and set minimum Buy-in at 0.1 CRP. The table was created and soon a player joined the table. I played a round with the guy then he left the table. The game worked like a charm and I think it’s also among the best features of the Utopia Client.



Conclusion

The Utopia client is truly a very innovative application that has many features in a single package. Although, the UI is very basic, but it is so nostalgic experience. The feature of swapping works like a charm, and we can play poker with anyone who use the client.  The Web Proxy works very well for browsing restricted sites, and the channels help us to communicate with others. The chat function and uMail are truly the way to have anonymous conversations. The Utopia AI assistant is like a friend who will listen to you and answer your questions very accurately. Overall, the experience of using Utopia was phenomenal and I recommend everyone to try this application.

Initial thoughts
I am happy to share my review of the Utopia P2P Ecosystem here with everybody. From this forum I heard for the first time of Utopia and their all-in-one program to include cryptos, communication, online browsing and shopping with secure payments. Any new software that offers anonymity and security in the online space is interesting to me and has a huge potential to attract a lot of customers. From the website I got a good initial overview of Utopia and what is all included in their program. They have a very easy to access and get around website, with the download button in the top right corner. The layout reminds me a bit of some older computer games and makes you interested to explore what they are offering.



Installation
The installation was straight forward, via the website you download their program in a few seconds which was around 200MB. I always prefer to download the whole file at once, and not have to wait during the installation because there are many more files being downloaded in the background. With Utopia it's not the case, you only need one file and installing it goes really quickly too. At the end it asks you if you want to open the program when the PC starts, which is nice because most other software just goes straight into startup without notification. After the installation you need to setup your profile in the App, where it directly asks for the location of the backups that will be used to store all the information secured by a password. That is a great way to already add a layer of security for our personal data.



Software
The Utopia software has a very intuitive design that doesn’t require a lot of time to get used to it. You can jump between the different sections at the top of the program and all information will be stored in its own windows. It’s a great way to combine a lot of different functions into one overall software. The first windows are the Channels & Chats windows, where you can talk to support and other users. The chat reminds me of the good old days of IRC chats, you see all other user that are online at the right side and can easily send private messages to each other. On average there were 100-200 online users whenever I was in the channel. The third window is the uMail where you can send longer messages to other people, here it helps to create different contacts and folders first to keep everything organised and stay on top of things. The next window is the All Channel window that shows us 3900 available channels we can join to contact other people. There are a variety of different channels, for special topics like mining or music and also language specific channels if people want to communicate in their own languages. The most important window is probably the Wallet channel where we see our Cryptons CRP holdings, which you can use to pay and transfer money around. The program also offers us the chance to convert CRP directly to the Utopia USD (UUSD) coins which seem to be a stable coin. And then there are two games on the platform itself Chess & Poker that we can play against other users. Chess I didn’t manage to test yet as I had no other person to play with. The Poker room was more interesting for me, there was one table open which had buyins above my league so I couldn’t join. To still test the features, I opened my own room with my own rules and could choose much lower limits. It took 3-4 minutes for some other player to show up and we managed to play for half hour. It’s nice to see so many different things being combined into one single platform.



Improvements/Open Issues
The software seems to be already running quite smoothly and I am not sure how much it can be improved more. One thing I noticed however was that the internet traffic is quite high when it idles the software, this might be the case due to some mining in the background. But for some people like me that only have a limited internet access sometimes that can lead to some problem. Maybe it could be nice to give the option for the users to allocate a certain bandwidth limit for the App itself, so that it doesn't slow down other internet usage. Another issue that I found when going through the large number of merchants working together with Utopia was that some website where not active anymore and others where blocked by my antivirus program. With such a large number like 1856 different merchants being available on the Utopia network, there can always be some companies that stop existing. But maybe you could make periodical checks on the companies to exclude all the ones not active. Especially when on the first two pages of stores in the sub categories websites are not working it feels a bit strange. One way could be that sort your merchants based on the number of clicks they receive, so that the most popular ones are always on top. That would also let everybody see where the other spend their coins. Also, another thing is that some merchants are only available in certain countries, so maybe it could be worth it to add a filter to only show merchants that work in countries we live in.

Very well, this is my review from my perspective after obtaining 5 CRP to test out some features of Utopia App on my Windows OS. In my review, I'll focus more on the features and user experience.

    UI/UX    
User Interface and User Experience play a crucial role alongside the features offered by any application. After installing the Utopia software, which took around 10 minutes with a 50 Mbps WiFi connection, I immediately imported my previously created Android account smoothly using the private key. Then, I found the four theme options very comfortable to use in my dimly lit room, so I chose the dark theme.

As a beginner, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the abundance of menus on the main page. Despite having comprehensive features, I believe that some elements could be removed or hidden to achieve a simpler look. It's like Microsoft Word, but its purpose is not to create documents or edit files.

My little suggestion: You could make the Menu Bar slimmer to create a more concise appearance.

    Messenger      
Utopia's selling point is its messaging feature, which is enhanced with expanded functionalities. Therefore, essential messaging features should be easily accessible to users.

My first chat experience was in the #Utopia Chat Lobby channel. Sending messages was incredibly fast, and I could even send high-resolution images. The separation between channels and private chats greatly aids users in their chatting activities. I really liked this model.

As a user of centralized messaging apps on my smartphone, there are some important points that Utopia can consider to enhance the chatting experience:

• Fast message delivery: No issues with Utopia.
• Message forwarding capability: This requires some consideration, as it's not straightforward in Utopia unless you copy the link.
• Ability to favorite messages: This feature is available in Utopia and is very helpful.
• Ability to reply with a quote: Utopia doesn't miss out on this feature. Great!

I faced a difficulty when trying to send a private message to someone in the same channel. If they were offline, I couldn't send a private message. However, when they were online, I could send a private message and request their public key without knowing their public key beforehand.

My question is, could this be a consequence of Utopia's peer-to-peer (P2P) feature?

    Personal Profile Customization    
To customize the profile picture, it can only be done for resolutions up to 5000 x 5000 px. That's fine, but for larger resolutions, it might be a bit cumbersome as users would need to compress the image beforehand.

I also tried setting up the referral code. Since Utopia offers rewards to anyone who successfully invites new users using a referral code, I attempted to create a referral code three times, but it always failed. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if there are specific requirements for creating a new referral code.

There's a slight inconvenience with the username. I can't set the username for free here. While having a username makes it easier to be contacted, I think the idea of paying for a username still needs further consideration. If the main reason behind implementing this rule is to prevent spam or fraud, it could be gradually addressed by implementing new rules.

    Airdrop Program    
Is the Airdrop Program still ongoing? My Utopia application has been online on my laptop for more than 48 hours non-stop, but I haven't received any Airdrop income notifications. It seems that Utopia needs to display the number of online users to better understand how long it takes to earn coins from the Airdrop. Also, clarifying the sustainability of the Airdrop program should be expedited.

    uWallet    
Crypto card
The mentioned card cannot be used for buying and selling transactions on popular marketplaces like VISA and Master Card, but it can be used for shopping with some merchants that have partnered with Utopia. Personally, I didn't have high expectations for this Crypto Card since I don't provide personal data like a passport, ID card, driver's license, etc. It's understandable that it's not like a regular credit or debit card, as I believe reaching that level would require a lengthy process.

Creating a Crypto Card incurs a cost of 3 CRP, which is a reasonable price for some additional features.

Voucher
This is a very interesting feature that I really enjoy, as it allows for more creativity. It's quite fun to use vouchers for giving gifts, organizing quizzes, or even riddles with other members. This unique method of transferring funds is quite refreshing for a messaging application of this caliber.

Someone creates a voucher, and others redeem the voucher to receive a certain amount of CRP balance. One of the best features!

This is my balance history to explore the features of Utopia. Initially, I had the intention to play a game of poker, but the lack of opponents compelled me to postpone my desire.

Here is my review about Utopia and his associated software.

Installation

I installed the software on a computer with the Debian 11 (bullseye) x86_64 OS. Nothing to complain about, everything worked directly with the .deb file. I have to say that I did the installation via gdebi in CLI, it did not cause any problem. This computer has 8GB of ram, and an i3 2.10 GHz CPU, it's a pretty basic configuration. No problem, nothing special to mention.

First impressions

I would like to point out that I had never installed or used Utopia Desktop before, so I approached it with curiosity but skepticism because it was totally unknown to me.

It's nice to use because the software syncs quickly, and doesn't interfere with my other heavier applications. The initial sync must have taken about 5-8 minutes to complete, I was surprised at how fast it went. (my internet connection is pretty fast, it's fibre optic)

Overall, it's very light, and the whole thing is responsive. Utopia Desktop consumes very few resources, which is a positive point:




User Interface

The UI looks very old school, which is fine with me, but I think some users might appreciate a lighter version. I find the interface well done, and clear. I just worry that younger/lazier users might prefer something more intuitive, with fewer sub-menus.

A major positive point is the number of languages into which the site and Utopia Desktop have been translated. I would like to congratulate the team as it is rare that translations are a priority, and I really appreciate that.
The languages available are : English, German, French, Czech, Hungarian, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Czech, Portuguese, Dutch, Greek, Ukrainian, Romanian, Korean, Thai, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Turkish, Arabic, Bengali, Persian, and Filipano. This is impressive! Adding Bulgarian, Finnish, Swedish, Slovenian, Moldavian and Serbian could be great, so that the whole world can use the interface in their native language, including all our European friends.


Mining

Mining is easy, and rather user-friendly. You install bots on computers or third party servers, and you get your rewards every 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, I can't take advantage of it, as I am limited by the Public IP mandatory thing, but will definitely give it a new try when I will be back at home. I will give an update in some weeks about the mining part, I want to have my own connexion for it and some time to give a better feedback about it.

I think it's sad that mining is not possible on the servers hosting the client, but I don't know the technical prerogatives behind this decision.

Channels

Channels system is great ! You can find pretty everything. It could be great to have more life on some of them, but eh, I guess it is just a question of time. With time, hopefully the community will grow and some channels will become more actives.

For examples, you can find channels to find people to play with (chess or poker), or to talk with ChatGPT. Some of them are here to help you if needed, as the Mining-support one, and some others are more generic (as the Utopia Chat Lobby). By the way, I take the opportunity to add a little whim from my side, but you should give the opportunity to play chess against an AI and not limit it to the game between users, it would encourage more users to stay online waiting for potential opponents

Some users are complaining about a lack of answers in some channels, I mean from the Utopia’s support team. It could be good for everyone, to add support agent/moderators as the community is growing.

Idyll Browser

Idyll Browser is an integrated browser based on TOR. It gives you the opportunity to connect to P2P Utopia Network.

However, I find it very difficult to find the addresses of this network, it is not intuitive, and it would be positive to add a group of pre-installed bookmarks to guide new users. Moreover, not being able to access sites outside the Utopia P2P network is limiting the interest of this browser IMO. Why shouldn't we use TOR which allows us to access .onion and clearnet? Why not just integrate TOR instead of Idyll and add a plugin for P2P-Utopia links? Wouldn't that be better for users who want to protect their privacy even outside P2P-Utopia?

uMail

This integrated messaging service is good, I don't have any specific comments to make about it. Perhaps adding a module to integrate PGP from the ground up might reassure some users who are still sceptical about their protection on the basic ecosystem.

uWallet

Everything is clear, intuitive and easy to use. Experienced crypto users will find their way around within seconds, and beginners won't even have the opportunity to make a mistake, or to miss anything. This is really THE strong point of the software for me, kudos to the team.

As has already been said, integrating the prices in FIAT directly into the interface could be a good improvement ; more « lambda » user-friendly.

Also, I would like to point out that I have had several times a problem swapping my CRPs into UUSD (see the screenshot below). The software was not able to propose me an exchange rate, and this despite several restarts of the software. In this case waiting fixes the problem by himself in a few hours, but it would be good to make the swaps more fluid, as an impatient users could be unpleasantly surprised if this happens at the wrong moment..
