Hello everyone, this is my review of the Utopia P2P ecosystem.
I installed this app on a Mac and it works well. The first piece of advice I would give is to pay attention to where you want your wallet to be installed so you won't lose it.

Design
I like the design of the app, it looks clean and it's easy to find stuff that you need.

Indicator of the popularity
I like an indicator of the popularity of channels, but I think an image of stars looks like an indicator of the rating of the group. So it's not really intuitive, but the idea is great.

Channels
There are a lot of channels on different languages and about different topics which are good, but I think you should group up some of these chats (for example by language) for people to navigate through them easily.
I see that you can use a filter to do it, but I think it would be better if there would be groups/tags on the left panel so people will see them right away.

UUSD
I like that you use UUSD as a stablecoin, but it would be great to see proof of reserves because I think most people won't use UUSD without it.

Merchants
Merchants have the same problem as chat groups, you should group them up. Right now it just looks like a random list of websites. It also would be great to maybe implement a rating of these merchants so people can share their experiences

Moderation
I think some sort of channel moderation should be implemented. There are a lot of empty chats that were created like 3 years ago with no people or messages in them. It looks like spam and is hard to navigate.

uMail
I recommend adding a user email on uMail tag, so the user can easily share his email with others. Right now it's not obvious what should you use as an Email address.

Login items
When I installed Utopia on a Mac, a new login item was added (so Utopia can be active in the background). I recommend you rename it because its name doesn't have any connection with Utopia so it might look alarming to some users.

Website
I also think that it would be great if you will update the design of your website. It has the vibe of an anonymous project, but it looks rough which might scare off some users. A new design will look more professional. You might want to add a light theme as well.

Conclusion
The idea is great, I see that the project is evolving. It has a lot of elements, but these elements have small mistakes. If those mistakes will be fixed, I think Utopia will be pretty popular among crypto enthusiasts.

                               Part 2 of my review

I finally was able to open the Utopia desktop app after multiple attempts, so I decided to quickly go on reviewing the whole application one after the other, starting from "File" section/menu. Clicking on File would open up a list of options such as: 1 My Profile, 2 Export Database, 3 Change Password, 4 Backup Private keys, 5 Wipe Encrypt Container, 6 uNA Database, 6 Lock Application, 7 Sign Out, and 8 Exit
Starting from "My Profile" option, when clicked it shows 3 different options I found quite interesting on the left side of the App, that's "Overview" , "Whois" and "Refer a friend". See image below:



* Clicking on Overview shows you your Avatar, uCode(which is more like QR-code equivalent for Utopia), Public keys, uNS and Nickname. The nNS is Utopia equivalent of DNS.
*Whois shows you almost similar information on Overview but arrange differently. I think the Whois for Utopia is an interesting and important feature.
* Finally Refer a Friend allows users to generate their own unique promo codes to share with those they wish to introduce to Utopia


Another interesting feature under File section is the option to Export Database which is the 2nd option after "My Profile". It allows users to export their data like Contacts, uMail, Files, Contact messages, Channel messages, and have the data encrypted and stored in a container called "Encrypted Container". This actually allows users to control their data which is really useful in a truely decentralized system but I was abit worried about what would happen to the data of those who fail to back them up. They will probably be lost forever just like you have on WhatsApp for failure to backup ones data. I wish the developers could make it possible for such user's data to be thoroughly encrypted and hosted by other users who are able to securely host all/most data on Utopia ecosystem... more like running full node. People who don't want their data to be hosted by others can opt out of this option.

Finally other list under the File option are  Private keys backup,  Wipe Encrypt Container, uNA Database, Lock Application, Sign Out, and Exit
 Those are self explanatory and pretty easy to understand, so I didn't bother trying them out. Though I wish I tried out "Lock Application" but noticed it was grayed out


Next I will hopefully be reviewing Edit and probably Search in the Part 3 of my review

I've tried downloading the Android version, I noticed that one of my recommended feature that was not present with the Windows version is implemented in the mobile android version.


It was very wise to let users readily back there seed phrase(s) and private key(s) .
I hope it gets implemented in the Desktop version.

Another further observation:

I think you implement within the Chat Lobbies, that whenever a post has been quoted already, a second user cannot quote that same message as well. Or maybe within a given timeframe.
I feel that this is an overkill for avoidance of spam, however it also makes it harder to comment on a post that has already been quoted.

Hello! First of all thanks for your detailed review. But it seems like you didn't understand how our web proxy works.
In order to work with socks, you have to press Tools>WebProxy and in the opened window you can open any site from anywhere in the world anonymously and safely. You just have to enter your query into the search bar.

You say that Utopia slows down the computer. Can I ask the parameters of your PC?
Utopia is super fast, but can take up to 1.5GB of RAM. For a modern computer, Utopia P2P works really fast.

Another observation on the utopia webpage,

After going through some parts of Utopia p2p Ecosystem I must say that I'm quite impressed by what they seek to achieve and how they managed to pack in many different kinds of features in the application. The Application is actually feature rich but I wonder if this was part of the reason it keeps lagging or showing me blank white page for sometimes whenever I try to start or open the application, and it stopped opening atall the last times I tried opening it. Maybe part of reason is because it probably syncs or downloads most or everything locally in order to work offline judging by how the mobile app worked for me. I guess they need to be structured to load or work harmoniously. Or maybe it not well suited for my kind of device which is actually abit old but quite powerful in its time. If this is the case I will actually advice developers to try to build applications that works on most devices starting from the old ones. That will be quite an achievement and I think it will be efficient way using technology rather than building a tech today and few years later it becomes obsolete/outdated and probably useless, because according to the developers, it's unable to run new/better/advanced applications  Why not build applications that run on any devices without sacrificing on high quality, or you think that is impossible? Well, I tell you it's is possible.

Well, while using the Utopia p2p Application in my laptop, I focused more on understanding what the founders(1984?) or developers were trying to achieve with the App, I read abit of their "manifesto" and other related writing and immediately it occurs to me that they are probably trying to build some sort of parallel society in the application/system. That is actually a good idea and I hope the understand what it takes to do. I went through the features of the app to understand more and I continue to be impressed by them and what developers hope to achieve with the app. The features are beautifully arrange, very attractive and will be quite hard to resist by several cryptocurrency users and enthusiasts.
 While I continued going through the features especially to see if they are according to purpose of the founders/developers, I checked out the mining section and tried to learn more about it. While going through it I concluded that this must be some kind of Proof of Work mining, as part of the miners role is to solve problems for the system with their RAM and probably get rewarded with the system currency Cryptons, after proving their work, as proving ones work is necessary in a Trustless environment before getting rewarded. I thought this is right for a truely Decentralized and Trustless System and it's the kind of Application I will probably be using in the future ... then I saw a section written Proof of Stake and Delegated Proof of Stake and was really disappointed by that as  Proof of Stake is definitely not the right consensus mechanism for permissionless/trustless/decentralized cryptocurrency system. Besides, it's not a fair mechanism and can lead to massive corruption and elitism which the founders seem not to support in their Manifesto as they claim to be building a fair system/society where everyone is equal even though I think people are not equal but are only equal before the law. By the way, I hope the system is built or will be built on fair or good rules/Law and Justice System where everyone is free to participate and the best chosen via a merit system rather than how much money/stake they have which is exactly what PoS about: based on how much Money/Stake you have rather be based on merit and everyone able to fully participate like PoW. PoS  can easily create a corrupt and evil justice system.


After using the application for sometimes , it could not open anymore after several attempts to open it. It continued to be stuck at the white blank screen for quite long, then I decided to continue on the Mobile App which I updated before using or testing. The app isn't too  feature-rich or appealing unlike the Desktop app. But I used it anyway, and luckily I noticed they already added a feature that enables users to extract their private keys.

I hope developers find a way of reducing the amount of data the mobile app consumes while syncing. Maybe they focus on what is more important for users by giving them an option to sync only data they are interested in without completely removing the information that identify the data. For example, considering that Utopia could somewhat be considered a Nation in Cyberspace, things could be very ordered in such a way that all Markets and online store have a section called Marketplace, Schools could be in Education section, Courts under Law/Justice Department , etc.... So users of Utopia who don't really want to use the Marketplace, School, Law can choose not to sync their Sections or just only sync the individual parts they are interested in within each section.
If a new user opens Utopia he/she will only be shown the unsyc features and can individually start to sync what they are interested in and their content.
Finally, if you ask me to rate both the desktop and mobile Utopia Application, I will give the Desktop 45% and the mobile 20%. This is a very high rating in my opinion considering is probably still a new system. I'm actually impressed what they have achieved so far, assuming they actually started in 2020.

Here is my Utopia review. (Utopia P2P Ecosystem build: 1.1.774)-->(updated to 1.2.334)

Log-in & Sign-up:

   I like the ease of creating a Utopia account, you just need to provide a username/nickname and an optional field where
you can put your first name and last name. A suggestion, perhaps it will be helpful for noob users like myself if there is a password hint. I know it is a responsibility of a user to secure the private key and/or the seed phrase(s), but maybe a hint or reminder for the password would not compromise the security of my account.

   One more thing while logging in there is this switch feature to "Remember Me",

but I've logged out/and exited the application twice and I don't think the "Remember Me" feature does anything aside from remembering the last nickname that logged in. I assumed the "Remember Me" function will auto insert my password but I was wrong.

   Another thing is I like the welcome screen and walkthrough guide after sign-up like personalizing my theme, etc.

Another recommendation though, maybe you could enforce users to ensure that newly signed up users will jot down there seed phrase.

Update Tab:

   

   I really like this tab where you can check for updates, although, I think its better if for example a user is using an outdated version, that the user will be reminded or prompted that he may want to update his Utopia app.

Built-in Browser

   Your dedication on anonymizing users-browsing experience is commendable. I just don't think this Idyll browser works.

   I have checked the "Options" on the browser and went to the network settings. I am sure that I checked that Utopia is running and SOCKS v5 feature is enabled. I also made sure that SOCKS settings are configured correctly in Idyll Browser.

UMail

   I was under the impression that this uMail is like an email service provider, Alas! I think the email system works internally, meaning the receiver must be within the Utopia network as well. My bad.

Send/Receive Cryptons

   

   I have experienced receiving and sending cryptons when I was still participating in the Utopia signature campaign. And from what I can remember, I didn't find it hard to receive and access my cryptons. It was also very easy to send it to the exchange( which I forgot which particular exchange I sent my cryptons before).

Conclusion:

   The platform is generally great. In terms of GUI and ease of access. It is also worth noting that even though I'm a noob user, most of the features are user-friendly and there is a walk-through guide in the beginning so, it was very easy. Although I have jotted down some recommendations, it is fair to say that the app is great and a must try especially for people who wanted to have a more private, no-BIG Brother that watches you while you surf and browse the web.

Plus, I think young people are the first to upgrade to newer versions.
also, many large software houses have stopped development and support for Win7 systems, especially 32bit. I see no reason why a small team like Utopia would spend time developing something that is almost at the end of its life.

INTRODUCTION:

The website of Utopia had some good designs,we should appreciate the developer for the same.The team had hired a professional designer to create such website.The second one is the concept of the project,it’s based on the Messenger.We are depending on our mobile phone for day to day activities,this application had huge hope.

KEY CONCEPT:

It was impressive one for the investors,because we depend of messengers on daily life.We use letter on the old days,later we moved to Telephone.Then we move to the messengers after the invention of Mobile phone.Now we need of safe and secure messengers to hide our chats.Even the freelancers need of messengers with some secure one.Because most of the messengers store our chats in their data base.This also includes the photos and files.Now the Utopia will replace the most of the messenger with his advanced features.The concept of this project is long lasting one.Messenger was used by the youngsters in most of the countries.Based on the youngsters,huge dating application are the launching with premium fee.This Utopia is free platform for now.

MY EXPERIENCE:

I had already downloaded Mobile application of Utopia,it was good.But I had seen,the Utopia application is not available for the Windows 7 32bit Operating System.As we know in many developing countries,the Laptop is based on the Windows 7,the Utopia team should concentrate on the missing version of Windows 7 32bit operating system also.I had seen Utopia had application for Windows 7 64bit OS.But most of the young people uses the old version of Windows 7 for their Personal Computers.It’s not a mandatory one,it’s my personal opinion to include the Windows 7 32bit OS Version.

CONCLUSION:

This application had 1984 groups in total,it had group all over the world.I had seen many channels was created based on crypto currency and forum based.It allow the user to create a channel for own purpose was impressive one.Utopia also allow the user to describe the purpose of the channel.Utopia AI was made this messenger was updated one as compared to some of the normal messenger.Utopia is advanced secure messenger which is required one in a current situation to secure our chat.

I am using latest version of Utopia ecosystem (1.2.334 x64¬) in my Laptop with window 10 and here is my experience with Utopia so far.

My Previous Experience:

I slightly remembered that I used this APP 15 months or two years ago and that time I was thinking that it’s just a chatting app because I read on website “Utopia P2P Chat APP “.

Current Experience:

I downloaded latest version from official website. I already read some review about domain name otherwise I would have a hard time to find official website. Like others member I will also recommend to change website address to something start from “Utopia”

New App has so many option to watch and yes this is not just a messaging app but a complete Ecosystem including secure chat, staking, Mail, Crypton network wallet, gaming and much more.

Dashboard:



It consist of many option. All major ecosystem tool are separated by top bar and it’s very easy to navigate to other option with just one click. Another good thing that I checked is opening different windows in tabs and I am able to use different window just by clicking on each tab. Each window size can also be resized with mouse click and I am able to do it according to my need.

General Setting:
 I checked out General Tab and found that there is lot of option I can use to adjust language, notification, proxy setting (in case of not working with current proxy), display, shortcut and sound setting. By default all option is suitable and no need to change but these adjustment give freedom to change setting according to your need.
UMail:



First I was thinking that I can send mail to anyone having Gmail or other like other mail account but after checking I found that we can send mail to only Utopia users. By the way you can attach Voucher (crp+usd) and credit card to mail.

Uwallet:



I like wallet system so much because it is not just a sample cold wallet but here lot of option. You can send and receive CRP token which can be get from official exchange or other Cex also. I delighted to see that you can also shop through this Crp token in their official shop. Besides this staking is also available to mine crypton. For better use credit card is available which will allow holder to get many benefit and fee concession. You can swap CRP to UUSD or Vice versa through official Swap tool. I swapped 2 Crp to UUSD and its quite fast and not faced any issue.




uVoucher:
This feature is so interesting and I think it is best option to gift any friend. I received 5 Crp to check this service so I created voucher and redeemed to check the fee and time it takes for redeeming and I will give 5 star. Below is 2 CRP uVoucher. Anybody can claim it.
Game: only two games are available and unfortunately both are not allowed in our country and religion because both related to gambling and betting.

Final Decision:
Utopia is x ecosystem with some advance tool for peer 2 peer secure messenger. Every tool I checked was so good except gaming which I will advise to add some new games and it will be much better to add monthly gaming contest for higher score. I think it will bring more user to Utopia Ecosystem. For mobile version I recommended to bring something new like wallet and gaming.

introduction
I have had my own share of the Utopia experience. i must say it way beyond what i expected, I mean having everything i need in one community and yet it is all decentralised and my information remains mine at the end of the day.

I will like to start with the idyll browser before moving to the Utopia community. It is just as simple as every other browser yet we own our information. The privacy guarantee for both website hosts and users is what every internet user has always wanted and here it is with full assurance of confidentiality.

Over to the Business of the day. The Utopia ecosystem is just a one community that meets the need of its users. I mean what else can one ask for. A currency to trade with within the system, A lively channel, an opportunity to earn while been active, A secured mailing system as well, a mining option,  as a trading platform all, It brings everything we can think of in one ecosystem.

I downloaded  V1.2.334 on  windows Os 10+, I am a lover of dark screen so I opted for the dark theme so I can get the beauty of chatting in my favourite colour. I made my first chat in the open channel and I loved the welcome and how everyone was eager to help me get familiar with the ecosystem.

Overview
This is all I have always wanted from the internet, A place I will express my self the way I feel without someone threatening my existence simply because my information is tied to my opinion. I have played around a few features from the Utopia ecosystem and I will say I haven't seen a flaw yet. At first when I created the account and was left with a blank message folder I almost panicked but when it finished loading and I saw the numerous channels to engage in added to the winning option and trading platform I just felt relieved.

My Chating experience
The few time i spent using the app the level of communication and engage was encouraging, There wasn't a time people stopped communicating both those sharing the experience, difficulty, achievements, and those who needed some amount of CRP to enable them trade. From my own observation it is community where we bond with each other with full trust ..

Internet consumption
Utopia ecosystem is more economical on mobile phone version compared to desktop version. It consumes less of internet bundle as compared to using the desktop version.

uMail
Sending mails now seems better. Business associates and crypto conversation through emailing and attaching files to mail now comes with privacy which is one feature that will attract all crypto entusiast

Contacts
The public key feature which serve both as wallet address and unique identification to add contacts will make co-existing within the ecosystem  more fun and convenient.

Seed phrase absence during account creating
This happen to be my biggest concern because most users might forget they have a seed phrase attached to their profile and can be useful to recover their account when the forget their login detail or while trying to import their account into a new device. making the seed phrase available during account creating will limit the number of users misplacing their account due to forgotten login detail.

UTOPIA P2P ECOSYSTEM REVIEW

Welcome
First of all, I was a subscriber to the Utopia Campaign previously, so I am somewhat familiar with the application. I updated the application to the latest version of Windows Desktop V1.2.334. I am using Win10 64-bit.

After I updated the application and opened it, it found some difference, but the most important thing is that the speed has improved somewhat compared to the previous version. In the old version, I was suffering from slow computer and slow internet when synchronizing, but now I find things have become better and the synchronization speed was much faster than last time. 5 CRP in my balance immediately, while I remember when I got the CRP from the campaign it took a long time to appear in my balance.
This is a good positive improvement at first glance.

The application contains many and varied options, but it is easy and clear, with an attractive, easy-to-use interface.
In fact, the application contains a lot of options and tools that I think it is difficult to explain all of them in detail because the review will be very long. But I will explain the most important ones:

Email:

When entering the application, you feel as if you have entered your usual personal email completely with the ability to send and receive personal messages with a great deal of privacy. This is a really attractive feature to have your own private email for Crypto and exchange messages with the Utopia community with ease and privacy.

Chat:
There is also a chat tab that enables you to chat with members of the Utopia community through open channels or create your own channel, almost similar to Telegram. But the negative point is that there are few active users even though there are many channels.

wallet:
The most important thing, in my opinion, is the wallet tab. Here you can receive and send CRP coins to any address via the Send and Receive button. You can also create your own crypto card, which you can use to send and receive CRP without the need for the public key.
With the wallet, you can also send CRP to any address with a very low commission of just 0.1%. This is a very good positive point.
You can also make swaps from CRP to UUSD via wallet but I wish there were more coins added to the list.

Mining:
There is also a nice mining feature where the Utopia system uses your device and the network to audit and you get mining rewards divided among all the miners and this of course affects the device slightly due to the use of the processor and hard disk.
But I wish there was a more detailed explanation about mining so that the user knows exactly what will be used from his device and what returns he will get by participating in mining.

games:
Also there is a Games tab where there are chess and cards that can be played with other players in the community by invitation by public key.
This is a good idea, but I wish there was a larger list of games available for both single and multiplayer play.

Contacts:
You can also create your own contacts by adding them using only the public key, this is a very useful feature when sending and receiving.

Conclusion:
In fact, there are a lot of different tools and options that are very difficult to explain in this review, but in general I can say that the Utopia ecosystem is a very attractive integrated system that can be likened to a complete workstation that has everything you could need in Crypto.

The negatives that I found are that the system is somewhat slow as it slows down the computer and the Internet, and this negative has become less after the last update, but it can be eliminated by developing the application in the future.
Also, we need to expand the Utopia community so that there is a real use and benefit from the system because the current numbers of community members are not enough to make the system achieve its purpose.

I visited the Utopia website, and I can see it's a good one. The details are primarily precise. I'm impressed with the Trailer of Crypto Cat on the website in the Watch tab; There are more videos in that section. Sadly, I can't watch each of them right now, but I'll watch them in the future.


Now coming to the main stuff, I'm using the Windows Desktop version.

1: After logging in, it shows me the dashboard, and I can see it's clean and easy to understand took me like 2 minutes to understand that section at first glance.

2: The app consumes a lot of internet data, and it can be hard to keep up with the app if someone's on a limited internet package. For me, it never goes below 500kb/s speed unless
    I set a rule in Netlimiter.

3: I like the games that Utopia has on the app [Chess and Poker]; however, it's easy for someone to cheat the chess game by simulating the same moves against the computer on
   another pc or on the same.
 - It created a poker table pretty quickly after I gave the inputs to the Utopia Poker game (Thumbs up!) However, it's hard to find games that are live because of a lack of users (This
   might change in the future)

4: I received the CRP tokens but can't find a good use for that other than Chess or Poker, so I'm donating 1-CRP token.
