If there are still free spots, here I am. If there aren't, no biggie. I was not sure I'll have time to try this out, that's why I didn't post earlier.
Hi NeuroticFish, we still have slots left and we're happy to let you review the Utopia. I'll send you a personal message once the team send the 5 CRP.

Thank you. Meanwhile I'll (slowly) start checking this and that, basically the things that don't require CRPs.

EDIT:
I create again a voucher to see how much it will cost me to gift someone with CRP tokens, Surprisingly it only cost 0.0075CRP to cover the fee which is almost negligible.
You can claim my Voucher so that I can check what will happen. Use the code below:
Code:
UTP-EZOC-MWNR-IL46-5YPB-7KGP
I do try to claim it for myself but I want to know if there will be a notification to me once someone already claimed the voucher or not so that I can't re-use other vouchers that I already gave to someone.
  • I created three uVouchers with 0.125 CRP each and are giving away two here:
[/list]
Code:
UTP-PKJU-F5GS-Y7EB-N4WO-XMLS
UTP-WMAJ-NK64-3HUR-D2FO-Q5BR

I claimed your vouchers codes guys and I received 5.23CRP I will transfer them to Crypton exchange now, thank you, now you can complete your reviews, and good luck to everyone, frankly, I see that the UTOPIA team is very professional and it seems that the project is still in the development stage, so investing and holding CRP coins will be a good decision because it can achieve new ATH in the future, looks like a hidden gem to me.

I hope Mr. Joeperry will extend the signature campaign or publish it again or publish more social & review campaigns for this project so that we can get CRP coins, as this is a good opportunity, I am waiting for good news from him  Wink

Got the 5 CRP (thanks) and tested the Utopia client.  Smiley

  • When installing, I cannot select a different drive for the installation in the menu. I have to enter this manually. It works, but I was a bit irritated that I couldn't do it with a click.
  • I use the Utopia client in german and I have to say that the translation is very good.
  • When you open it for the first time, the wallet looks very clear, but at first you are a bit overwhelmed by all the possibilities that this client (wallet) offers.
  • Downloading the blockchain was very quick. Apparently I was already in sync after about 15 minutes.
  • In itself, the scope of the ecosystem is very impressive. There's email, gaming, file sharing, a browser, messenger and even voice messenger and more. In itself it really offers everything you need.
  • First I looked at the channels and found a channel with free uVouchers. I think that's very good. So you are not required to buy CRP first to test the functions.
  • After that I wanted to learn more about the functions of the client and opened the "Official How-To". Unfortunately, this is not available in german. Although I use the client in german, the how-to is in english. This should perhaps be revised in the future. Either way, a lot is explained there and you can find answers to many questions.
  • On uWallet, I saw that the client supports CRP and UUSD, Utopia's stablecoin.
  • I created three uVouchers with 0.125 CRP each and are giving away two here:
Code:
UTP-PKJU-F5GS-Y7EB-N4WO-XMLS
UTP-WMAJ-NK64-3HUR-D2FO-Q5BR
  • I gave away the third uVoucher in a channel.

  • The uVouchers were redeemed and everything worked very well. (Thanks albon)

Suggestions:
  • I particularly like the option to play poker. It's just a pity that there are no free rolls offered where you can also win CRP and where everyone can participate. This would create an additional incentive to use the poker feature.
  • You could offer a slot machine where you play for CRP. This could perhaps in turn appeal to new users, especially those from the gambling sector.
  • The mining bot should perhaps also be offered for other operating systems. Not everyone uses Linux.
  • Under "uWallet/Mining" and under "Fiskusdaten/Liefern" there are text passages that are unfortunately not translated. This should be improved.

My conclusion:
I have never seen such a comprehensive wallet client. There are (almost) no wishes left unfulfilled and the client is really well made. Since everything is anonymous, I'm surprised that Utopia hasn't really been known yet. I've read something about Utopia here in the forum and informed myself, but otherwise I hardly hear the name. Also, I haven't heard from many people using Utopia yet. Actually it's a pity, because Utopia really offers a complete ecosystem, which is still completely missing in many other projects. Utopia definitely still has some work to do on its notoriety, but once that's done the project could potentially make it big. So I can only give my recommendation. If you are looking for a complete solution, you will definitely find it here.

Side note:
Utopia's website looks ok but could do with being a bit more professional and friendly in my opinion.

My experience with using Utopia wallet
Look, please note that first of all it's an ECOSYSTEM, not just a wallet. It's important as you've researched only one side of the complex product.

Sorry, I do experience the ecosystem as I browse the marketplace and other functionality aside from wallet. I'm just used to call the app as a wallet. I will try to add further review.

Edit:

I already updated my review with more insight into the Utopia ecosystem. I only added what function I use since other feature is already for developer level.

My experience with using Utopia App

Installation:
I'm using a windows 10 desktop with an i7-7700 processor and 16gb ram. The installation went smoothly after waiting for unpacking the files. I suggest that you should have a portable version like Electrum which users can access the wallet quickly without any installation required. I don't have a problem with the installation but I believe user that has low specs desktop will have a hard time installing the apps because the files are heavy.

I noticed that the domain of utopia is showing like this https://u.is/en/ which will cause a lot of confusion for users that will download the wallet files on the website. Maybe use a domain with the same name as Utopia so that it can be easily spotted when searching using google chrome. Newbie users can be a victim of phishing in case someone purchased a domain with utopiawallet name.

Wallet Design and Functionality:
The design is very neat and fresh to the eyes since you have the option to change themes in 4 styles. The UI is like the windows desktop which we can move the status bar location from top to bottom and also the multiple tabs are good. I try to create and claim the voucher for myself and it works properly. This is a good feature for sending gifts to a friend.

Mining bot, I don't have a chance to test it since it only works on linux but the delegation for PoS mining is not explained properly. What miner can we delegate and where can we see the list of public addresses that we can stake since our contacts are empty? Maybe add the contacts of a trusted miner in default so that the user can delegate immediately.

I want to try the game feature but it requires other players to test it. Maybe add some feature in which users can compete with an AI so that it will be useful with or without other players online to play it on the wallet.

Marketplace:

I'm amazed at how many merchants already accept utopia payment services and the filter feature to categorise all the merchant types. I hope that you will have a web3 feature in which users will just connect and disconnect the wallet in able to access the website page instead of registering and manually logging in.

Overall my Utopia experience is smooth as I don't encounter any bugs when I'm trying the wallet feature. I'm not a developer so I can't use other advance features of the wallet. The only thing that bothers me are those lot of red lights on the status bar and the huge data it consumes while my wallet is just open without any transaction happening.

I explore the channel above and I'm amazed at how wide the Utopia ecosystem is because you can create a discussion about any topic that you want and interact with other users. It's like a reddit inside the Utopia and you can set if you like the channel in public or in private. I believe this channel is perfect to find someone who will play with you on the games.

Maybe add some category on this channel and this will be perfect to easily spot the best discussion or where to post a topic that new users will create.

Adding Beginners and Help, Mining Discussion, Games category will be great.

My thoughts on Utopia p2p ecosystem

the Design and Layout:

I was impressed with the dark mode and light mode option as it was one of the things that pops up before my dashboard when I logged into the app, I'm the type that always wants to use dark mode on every site and I find a website uncomfortable if there is no such function. The color scheme and design work well for me.

App functionality:

The navigation is intuitive and straightforward, user-friendly, and simple to install, but it freezes for a few seconds before it comes up whenever I try to log in; I'm not sure if this is a general issue or just my system; it's not a big deal, but if it is, I'd like it fixed. I did not use the message function because I have no contacts. The Uwallet was the first thing that drew my attention; I noticed that the wallet accepts two tokens (CRP and UUSD) with the same public keys (when I clicked on get UUSD, I didn't get any new public keys, so I assumed that both tokens use the same public key). I received the 5CRP and decided to put it to the test one of the accepted merchants, so as a gambler, I decided to deposit 3CPR to my 1xbet.ng account via perfect money, and I was funded as soon as possible.

I tried to create a crypto card but it was not possible because the card issuing fee is 3CRP, I was curious about something and I hope to get an answer, I didn't go through all the accepted merchants so I want to ask if this crypto card can be used on Amazon and Aliexpress websites.

I still have 1.3CRP to play with, and while I tried to play poker but couldn't because I needed to create a table or get an invite ID to join an existing table, I wish there were other 1 player slot games available.

Overall, I was impressed with the design and the variety of functions; it's a great project for privacy, but I'd like to see more games added (perhaps crash and dice) to make it more exciting. kudos to the dev team; the design is excellent.

can you check the load on the processor when you go to the Network dashboard and "console" tab?
On my Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU @ 3.10GHz, only in that case did the CPU usage go up to 60%. in all other cases, the loading was from 0.4% up to 2%

I thought I already did that... isn't that shown in the picture I attached in my review...? I thought I was already at the "Console" tab...

7. I noticed that examplens posted above that, at some point, CPU usage jumped to 60% while using Utopia. So far, in my case, the app never went above 0.9% of CPU power and, in most times, it consumes between 0.1% and 0.4% of CPU. Perhaps this depends on the PC configuration.

However, I double checked and now something strange happened. I accessed again "Console" tab and now CPU usage is always at 4% and above (it fluctuates between 4% and 4.8%).

I don't know why it consumes now more CPU power than before. But earlier, when I tried, CPU usage was at 0.9%, as shown in my screen shot. And it's not an aging issue, as I accessed "Console" tab just after opening the app and CPU usage jumped to 4%. Then I left that section, I accessed a different one ("Wallet") and CPU usage dropped to 0.9%. Then I went again to "Console" and CPU usage jumped again to 4+%. I hope this helps.

Here is my review:

I installed Utopia client for the first time on my Android mobile. When creating an account, an encrytpion key was generated and I was given a public key which is needed along with my password to access my account.
Since the mobile version is still on beta phase, it only allowed adding/removing contacts, sending messages and creating/joining channels. I noticed the number of Links wasn't stable and kept changing between 0 and 10.
Since this version was lacking many important functionalities such as uWallet, uMail, Idyll browser..., I decided to test it on my desktop device.

I installed the client on both Ubuntu and Windows. For Windows the file name is UtopiaX64 and for Ubuntu it's utopia-latest. I believe the file name should contain the software version instead of "latest" to avoid any confusion and the user knows which version he is downloading.

When I was asked whether I want to create a new account or to import an existing one, I chose the second since I already have one (created on mobile). It appeared that I need either the private key or seed phrase and I didn't have any of them. Unfortunately, there is no option to extract the pk or seed from the mobile app, so I had no option but to create a new account.
After creating the new account, on the welcome pop-up window you can choose whether to launch the client automatically on OS start or not. I turned it off but, surprisingly, after restarting my PC, Utopia started automatically! I turned it on then off again and the problem got resolved.

Again, I can't find any option to export the private key/seed from the GUI! Those information are stored on the user-name.db file but you will have to decrypt it to see it, which is not something anyone can do.
I believe it's necessary to add an option to allow users to extract their seed from the GUI after providing the correct password.

I have to mention that i faced some problems adding a contact, sending messages/files between desktop and mobile accounts. Either I don't receive the authorization request or it takes some time to arrive. Also, when trying to add a new contact from mobile, I couldn't scan the uCode. I hope these issues will be fixed when a stable version will be released. All those features work fine between the two accounts on Ubuntu and Windows.

Not sure if this is important or not, but lately when I opened my PC, a pop-up window appeared notifying me that Utopia client crashed, although I have "launch automatically on OS star" turned off! Here is the error log:

Here is some other notes regarding some of the Utopia ecosystem's tools:

- Idyll browser: You need the uNS of the website hosted on the Utopia network to be able to access it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any one to test it. My suggestion is to make it possible to access websites hosted on the web too whilst disabling javascript, cookies.. for privacy reasons. Also, It would be helpful if you add something like a web directory or a search engine on the main page. I tried the uNS serach feature under Tools->uNS Manager->uNS Registry but it didn't help.
When you try to register an uNS, there is an expiration field which is set to never and you can't change it. If it's uneditable, why it's there!

-Deep Link: Every user has a deep link associated to his account which looks like:
Code:
https://utopia.im/public-key
When opening it on the browser it will show the user's public key with a Start secure chat button at the bottom. The button is an URI which will open Utopia client and automatically send an invitation request to that user. It works fine on Ubuntu but on Windows it works only if the client is running otherwise it will only open the client and nothing happens after you enter your password and access your account.
Also, it would be better if it shows "user doesn't exist" if the public key hasn't been registered yet. Not sure if this is technically possible, though.

-Exchange: When I created an account on crp.is and requested an authorization code, I didn't receive it until after few retries. I received it multiple times at once and it was the same one. I think it's better if it was a different one for each request (one time code).
Also, I noticed there is a fee for depositing some coins such as USDT. I believe deposits should be for free.

-uMap: Opening the uMap shows the location and number of channels. I suppose those channels are positioned based on their geolocation but there is no map, the background is completely white.
-uBot: Unfortunately, I couldn't test it as it needs a VPS or dedicated server and you can't run it on the same device with Utopia client.

Overall and after testing the Utopia ecosystem for few days and getting familiarized with it, I can say that I am impressed by the wide range of services and tools it offers to enhance users' privacy and by how they managed to combine all these tools into one software which is really intuitive and easy to use even for beginners. There is still plenty of room for improvement, though.

Good luck to Utopia team and thank you for giving me the opportunity to know about the existence of such a wonderful ecosystem.

Utopia review

Please find below my thoughts and suggestions for Utopia.

Installation was performed on the following configuration: CPU Ryzen 1800X / 32 GB DDR4 / SSD / Windows 10 Pro.

1. First of all, I noticed that on the website, on the download page, the 32bit version is not available. It is mentioned there but it can't be accessed. Ironically, just above it there is the 64 bit version and there is stated that it's the recommended version but, as the 32 bit version can't be selected, then the 64 bit version is not just recommended, but also the only available version.

2. During installation, Windows Defender popped.

3. Within same place as the one from the above picture (meaning at the generation of the private key step), at the bottom-right of the page there is a meter showing 0 and no explanation about what it means. Just next to it there is network signal meter which, in my case, was showing a very low signal or no signal (I don't know how to interpret it) but, however, I had connection to Internet in that very moment, therefore the network meter does not seem to work correctly.

4. Alt+F4 does not close the application, but minimizes it to Tray.

5. During the "welcome screens", when reaching the page about Community Support, there is a link: https:support.u.is. Clicking on it opens a tab in the user's external browser, not the built-in Idyll Browser.

Same thing happens when clicking on "Get Cryptons" and "Shop with Cryptons".

6. Not sure if it's intended, but it seems that lowest character limit for usernames is 1 character. I managed to create a username named #.

8. I am not sure about this (perhaps I did not look where I was supposed to?) but changing layout from View menu does not make any change. I selected all options from there and I did not see any change.

9. At the login screen, selecting "Remember me" remembers only the user, not also the password.

10. During welcome screen, on the theme selection screen, the user is informed that there are two pre-installed themes; however, they are four: Light, Dark, Classic Light and Classic Dark.

11. The app is localized in 29 languages, which is impressive. However, I noticed that some parts are not localized in any languages. These parts are the following:
- "Import account" string from login screen
- "Light", "Dark", "Classic Light" and "Classic Dark" strings from theme selection screen shown during welcome screens
- "Light", "Dark", "Classic Light" and "Classic Dark" strings from View - Switch Theme submenu
- "Backup Private Key" string from "File" menu
- "Verify Transaction" string from uWallet menu
- "Threaded UI render (experimental) string from Tools - Settings submenu

In order to not add all these screenshots here, I uploaded them all on imgur: https://imgur.com/a/6kpwu1E.

12. Localization-wise, I would recommend you to perform a thorough check on all languages, using testers native in each localization supported. Using natives is a must, in order to make sure that the translation was not only correctly made but that it is also idiomatic. By chance, I am a Romanian native and I observed that some parts are not properly translated in Romanian. I uploaded on imgur three examples: https://imgur.com/a/MHMZE09. However, I did not check the entire app's localization in Romanian. If you are interested in a thorough check, please let me know.

The idea is that, as I observed those errors in Romanian -- at a first glance -- it is possible to (1) have many other similar errors present in Romanian localization and, also (2) to have various translation errors in other languages.

.13. The Games section is a nice addition. I was thinking to suggest you to implement more board games. Maybe backgammon would be a plus.

I will end here this feedback, but I will come back in case I will find any other bug on the website or in case I'll have more suggestions. I hope this helps.

here is my review of the Utopia system.

Well, I installed the Windows version of the Utopia platform.
The first thing that started well, is that it offers the possibility of a custom location for the wallet.db file. After 1+ month of use, Utopia takes around 450MB on my storage, from initially 200MB installation.
My first impression is that I am more than pleasantly surprised by the possibilities I see. it is a complete ecosystem, with all important features included.
I got 5 CRP for testing, and use it to create some uVoucher while someone claimed it already. Also, take one from here
Also registered on Crypton exchange at https://crp.is and move some CRP there. I must say, everything working fine and fast. Registration on the exchange went through using the public key from the utopia wallet and really everything was very simple and clear. I was never in doubt about the next step, which confirms a good user experience.

I would not consider the application as a big consumer of resources in regular time, especially if we take into account everything that is done inside it. a very small part of the CPU power and a little more RAM memory. However, in combination with Chrome for a long period of time, I felt memory usage. (maybe clearing the cache would help, since Chrome doesn't do it automatically)

still a little more aggressive use of the application, more precisely going to the console, power consumption jumps sharply. CPU loads going up to 60%.

although there are almost always 15+ connections, I didn't notice any noticeable overload on the network.

Linux-based design. the first thing for which I would suggest improvement is certainly the user interface and design.

the options are crowded and even after a long time, I was not able to understand the hierarchy. all options and settings are everywhere, and the navigation itself through the application sometimes seems confusing and cluttered. All tabs stay open in I top bar, so it confuses "where I am" even more. I believe that it can be simplified.
Also, it seems to be too dedicated to discussion, chat, and messaging. But maybe it's the first goal of the developer, one more old-fashioned chat application. (Just an impression)

I became interested in CRP mining delegating so I asked for more information. I'm a little surprised that I had to go to several different pages, and websites in order to partially get the information that interested me. For example utopiaecosystem.com, u.is, utopia-ecosystem.com, blog.drhack.net/utopia-release-and-support...
it's fine if supporters make additional help pages and instructions but I think that everything should be consolidated in one place.

in the end, I would give a very high rating (4/5 probably) and I believe that I will stay with Utopia for a long time.

As what the instruction said, your name should be on the spreadsheet first and after that Utopia will send 5 CRP before you can start reviewing the project so if you don't see your name on the list then you are not accepted. Although, everyone is free to review the campaign if they wanted to (without reward, if you are not accepted of course). I hope this makes clear.
