friends, end this discussion that continues to spin without finding an end. OP already has rules, and let him do it according to what OP understands. reprimanding and deleting those who violate it is not a problem. Deleting without notification is also fine. it was stated in the OP.
this forum needs people who are willing to take their time to read. if they don't like it then they don't have to. just delete it every time they apply. If they are still crazy tag them with the craziness.
let this thread get back to its function again.
Some users see this thread as a means to get merited,if not why would they not read instructions on a thread before giving your count down. Some users might have even read it but it will be ignorant of the rules and regulations just because they are eager to get more merits which is now destroying the purpose of this thread. Since it is self moderated by OP, I believe he will have the time to delete those users that are not qualify to make their count down here. This is a good move to keep this thread from spamming and also to caution those users who feel they are too lazy to read or ignorant of OP.

But by responding and admonishing that the person has violated the thread rules, it's also not wrong, even though the OP can delete when deemed not to comply with the rules.
I don't think it's necessary because if the OP deletes post that break the rules, then the response post after that must also be deleted because it's no longer relevant. But of course it depend on how the OP moderated this thread although so far I think moderators will delete anyone's post that quote your deleted post.
Countdowns that don't meet the requirements need to be responded to and rebuked as learning or reminding users who don't read the rules in Op. Indirectly they already know the location of the error and prevent the assumption of favoritism or only certain users get merit assistance here.
Of course Op has his own policy in moderating this thread to make it cleaner from spammers who are lazy to read the rules. I think it is necessary to leave some inappropriate countdowns as examples for other users so that the same error does not continue in the future.

One thing about self-moderating threads is that the OP can remove any post that doesn't comply with the rules, is spam, or something like that. So even if you both respond to some users who don't read the thread rules then eventually the OP will delete the post after realizing it.

So I don't think it's always good to respond to some rule breakers or who don't read the rules even if your intentions are good. It can also bring down multiple repeat posts in the thread.
Just like me doing a countdown without reading the rules on v1 which the OP has now locked.
Not responding when someone makes a countdown to the next rank can be a response to that person that something went wrong.

Let's say you are given some merit assistance by those of us who are active in this thread as much as you need to get to the next rank, but still your ranking will remain at the current rank because the amount of activity does not meet the requirements for rank up.

The OP has created this thread with pretty good intentions. In our opinion, the rules made by the OP and some additions from several other members are not too heavy for you to fulfill. It just takes a little patience.
You are too hasty.

Before registering here, have you read all the rules in Op.?
I think you need to spend a few minutes to read all the rules listed in the main thread.
You have passed two basic rules when registering here.

  • 1.To avoid or minimize spam, it is henceforth required that You must be a jr member rank and up to make a count down post on this thread - 1 merit is not so hard to earn on your own I believe.

  • 5.You must have achieved enough activity level for the next rank before applying here, do not make a count down post if you are shot of activity for your next rank.

Next time, before doing something, try to read the rules of the game first, this is important for you to prevent the same mistakes from happening in the future.

How hard can it be to go through the rule of this thread?

Apply when you have enough activity for your next rank, I'm positive that if you continue to break rules of a thread those that we're suppose to merit you will start to add you to their ignore list.

Congratulations on achieving full member rank in the forum.  I visited your profile you achieved full member rank in less than 3 months that's a big achievement for you. And you undoubtedly made quality posts and your posts were very informative posts that's why you got a rank like full member so easily. Everyone in the forum has helped you wholeheartedly and you should thank everyone.
Now it's your turn to help others, you need to put yourself in the ranks of other generous people to help other users, especially those who are almost at a new rank. I just saw your Merit summary, based on the calculation of +1 merit you will get +0.5 sMerit, you can still spend around ± 36 sMerit.
We should help each other. Since he has  sMerit to give, he can send Merit to other members if he wants. Hopefully he will also want to help those on the forum who are stuck ranking up for a few merits. And to send merit to those who post good quality. Because we have to have the mindset to help each other. Only I will hope to help but not help others to prevent this from happening.

@Huppercase.
You are really lucky, once you get promoted to Full Member rank due to the merit help from generous users (after Countdown down here), you are immediately accepted into one of the paid Bitcoin campaigns.
This is very extraordinary in my opinion. Believe it or not, without the help of merit from generous people you have not yet reached a Full Member, they take turns helping you to speed you up to a higher rank.

Now it's your turn to help others, you need to put yourself in the ranks of other generous people to help other users, especially those who are almost at a new rank. There is no need to hoard sMerit because it will not bring any benefit to you. I'm not interfering with you to spend sMerit immediately, you have full right to contribute to the forum after some other users help you.

V1 Vs V2 Countdown thread difference

[snip]
Every member who wants to make a countdown application on this v2 topic has started to get used to reading the rules besides because in v2 the OP has moderated the topic himself which makes the atmosphere more friendly.

When applicants want to make a countdown that meets the requirements, just make an application and those of us who have sMerit to help need to also open the posts one by one as constructively as possible.
This seems to me to be one of the ways we all keep this v2 topic live as expected.

This message is not purely from me, but for me it is something very good to be reminded again.

By the way, your calculations, thanks to the help of ninjastic.space, can be a comparison between v1 and v2.

You are absolutely right, it amusing to me though, for one week now, that is from 26th of March to 1st of April (yesterday), only two applications have been received on this thread, unlike the previous thread (v1) where there were like 10 or more applications every week, I go through applications and get confused on who to merit and who not to, as there is never enough merits to go round, at a point, I felt like abandoning the thread as I felt totally uncapable, but I still thank as many that assisted in the previous thread, and also thank as many that brought up this idea of closing the previous one and starting this version which is self moderated, the stress here is far lesser -

I've had some merits on reserve for some weeks for applicant here, but because there are only but few users applying, before I visit the thread, other users have beat me to meriting the users that applied  Grin.
Indirectly "Self Moderated" has netted merit beggars here, I also continue to monitor this thread, but as you said only since March 26 only two applications have been pinned here. Here we can draw a straight line and conclude who is begging and who deserves immediate promotion to a new rank.
This thread is more organized, no spammers like in V1, only those who meet the requirements can apply here. Previously in V1, applicants were waiting for help, now you are waiting for applicants to arrive. Good job buddy.

V1 Vs V2 Countdown thread difference

V1 thread opened at 9 july 2022 by @Fivestar4everMVP & closed by him at March 21, 2023.
V1 topic was non self moderated and there was a lot of spamming on this topic. @Fivestar4everMVP opened the V2 Self Moderated topic on March 22nd as per the opinion of various experts. Let us find out the difference between these two topics.

V1 topic's total post per month and Countdown post per month described below....

July 2022 , Total posts 67, Countdown posts 09
Aug 2022 , Total posts 42, Countdown posts 16
Sep 2022 , Total posts 64, Countdown posts 23
Oct 2022 , Total posts 127, Countdown posts 36
Nov 2022, Total posts 82 , Countdown posts 26
Dec 2022 , Total posts 96, Countdown posts 20
Jan 2023, Total posts 146, Countdown posts 39
Feb2023 , Total posts 160, Countdown posts 51
Mar 01-21, Total posts 140, Countdown posts 30

New V2(Self Moderated) topic Up to date (Today before my post) posts History..

March 22 - April 02 , Total posts 51 , Countdown posts 05

Since the previous topic was not self-moderated, the amount of spamming that used to happen, especially in the last months of the count down, has been at a high rate, but with the newly opened V2 self-moderated topic, we have come out of this problem.

Thanks specially

I think you can still get some good posts from anyone regardless of whether they are currently ranked up or not. This will also help them get closer to the next rank, especially for those who still need merit to rank up. I think it's a good idea instead of you waiting for other applicants hoping for help in this thread.

But I have no right to insist, it's a friendly suggestion for you if you really want to help other users to get closer to the next ranking. But anyway, this thread tends to be better than the previous ones. Great job from you.

Do you actually need to be explaining to every user why there posts were deleted? I think you should be a touch of Jolly Jollygood here. Remove it and they will discover through their pm.

I think on the off chance that users are actually reading replies it's not a bad idea for him to quote and give a reason why he is deleting so that people who didn't read the rules get informed. There was so much abuse in the last thread from people who didn't read.

Later on he might decide to stop replying, but for now it's not a bad idea to continue IMO.

Look at the last thread compared to this 1. The last thread was super busy with newbies trying to get merit or people posting they need 100+ merits to rank up. We had some sig campaign people posting regularly as well for that free post count. This thread isn't even half as active, people are actually reading the rules and listening so far. Much better.
Look what's happening now, after some new rules added and Op is in control of this thread by moderating it himself, This thread is cleaner and tidier than attacks by spammers looking for free merit. In the last thread, almost every day we see people looking for merit without reading the rules first, including Newbies and Jr Members, many users above Full Members have also been found applying from long distances to rise in rank.
People have started to get organized with the rules in Op, Self Moderated has closed the space for free merit seekers who are lazy to read the rules.
