Do you actually need to be explaining to every user why there posts were deleted? I think you should be a touch of Jolly Jollygood here. Remove it and they will discover through their pm.

I think on the off chance that users are actually reading replies it's not a bad idea for him to quote and give a reason why he is deleting so that people who didn't read the rules get informed. There was so much abuse in the last thread from people who didn't read.

Later on he might decide to stop replying, but for now it's not a bad idea to continue IMO.

Look at the last thread compared to this 1. The last thread was super busy with newbies trying to get merit or people posting they need 100+ merits to rank up. We had some sig campaign people posting regularly as well for that free post count. This thread isn't even half as active, people are actually reading the rules and listening so far. Much better.
Look what's happening now, after some new rules added and Op is in control of this thread by moderating it himself, This thread is cleaner and tidier than attacks by spammers looking for free merit. In the last thread, almost every day we see people looking for merit without reading the rules first, including Newbies and Jr Members, many users above Full Members have also been found applying from long distances to rise in rank.
People have started to get organized with the rules in Op, Self Moderated has closed the space for free merit seekers who are lazy to read the rules.

Volimack, you should read ahead. right above you (before your post was deleted OP), you don't need to open page 1 and read the rules. but if you go there it will be better for you.
please for other members who want to apply in this thread (especially for the first time) read the thread rules first. too many repetitions. hopefully after this no more.
OP, You should clean this one up.

Hello user, sorry to announce to you that I am deleting your request, it breaks rule number 5 which clearly states that you must have achieved enough activity for your next rank before applying here, you currently have 100  activities and you need 120 activities for a full member rank.

Please stay active, and contribute positively to the forum, and apply again when you have achieved enough activity.
Thank you.

And besides, you already have enough merit for your full member rank, what you are lacking now is enough activity.

Thank you so much boss 🙏 and I really do appreciate it. I would also like to thank the OP for this thread and everyone that are contributing in the smooth running of this thread and assisting potential ranking members to their next ranks.
You are feeling joy after successfully reaching a higher rank than before. Now you are promoted to Full Member after receiving merit assistance from a Merit Source or non Merit Source. Other members take turns helping you to be able to wear the hat as soon as possible, after everything is achieved now it's your turn to help other members who have the potential to move up to a higher rank.

Be a user who cares about the sustainability of the forum, contribute as much as you can. The people who help you never expect anything from you because they believe that by contributing to the forum they will be helped by other users. After successfully reaching Full Member, now it's your turn to help other users.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹

And what prevents when viewing posts to send merit to these very posts? After all, this is the point of the merit system, to evaluate posts that are as useful and constructive as possible. But if you look at the history of the last thread and this one, then we get the feeling that everyone here who gets a rank, they all have the most useful posts written on this forum - these are applications in this thread.

I completely get the part you are coming from and I understand, agree and apologise for making a rule and not seeing it as important to completely abide to it..
On my part, I've taken correction and from now on, I will merit posts from applicants as I review them, and no longer applications on this thread..

Happy to see this admittance and willingness to do the better.
This is important to maintain the essence of the merit system. It is not all that applies here is worthy to be merited. If you check their post history and there is no merit worthy posts, you have the right to skip the user.

Thanks Guys

Hi jenny56, I am deleting your count down post due to failure to adhere to rule Number 5, which stated clearly that One must earn enough activity for their next rank before making a count down post here.
I sincerely hope you understand and do not take this to heart, you currently have 49 activity, and this means you are just 11 shot from the 60 that is required for Member rank, please be more active and also be patience for your activity to reach the required level,

Do you actually need to be explaining to every user why there posts were deleted? I think you should be a touch of Jolly Jollygood here. Remove it and they will discover through their pm.

Finally, welldone  for making this thread self moderated.

Read the rule and come back when you fully understand what it says.
For now you don't have enough activity for your next rank and according to the rule you need to first get enough activities before you can post a countdown post.

Thank you so much boss 🙏 and I really do appreciate it. I would also like to thank the OP for this thread and everyone that are contributing in the smooth running of this thread and assisting potential ranking members to their next ranks.
So you can also do it like you are assisted to get your ranking. Not everything that helps you is a Merit source, they have limitations to be distributed. So, you can also distribute your merit and support this system, as well as for other members who need help for rank up
Congratulations, you have completed your Count Down for Full Member

It's done, you have just achieved Senior Member Rank after getting additional merit from one of the most generous Merit Sources in the forum. I have seen your merit summary, there is no doubt for me to say you are one of the most generous users on the forum. Since joining the forum, you have sent 108 merit 63 times to 37 profiles.
Hopefully after this you can maintain your generosity by stopping here more often to help other users who are almost reaching a new rank.

But if you look at the history of the last thread and this one, then we get the feeling that everyone here who gets a rank, they all have the most useful posts written on this forum - these are applications in this thread.

I like the very concept of this topic, I always support such initiatives, they are aimed at helping and developing other users, this motivates them to remain active on this forum. But the very implementation of this concept, this help... it is strange. Absolutely crazy distributions of merit for some apply that serve a different purpose. I doubt that anyone here really sits and evaluates the posts of other users. It works like this: oh, someone applied and lacks a merit. Perhaps I will send him, as much as I do not mind. Done. And here scold those who apply, as if they do not read the rules. I wonder if those who send merit read these rules? The question is open.
This was the initial concern before this [v2] thread was created by the OP. Given that the concept is very good in helping to run the merit system, but if you look at many members who help lower-ranked users, it seems like they are ignoring what you are saying.

Not defending myself, I once gave input or advice to one of the users here who submitted a countdown app to the next rank where I asked that he not only focus on making posts on the local board even though it was useful. From there it can be judged that any user who wants to ask for merit help to rank up can simply leave the countdown app and then let others judge his posts. This includes the suggestion of @_BlackStar.

The OP is right that anyone who reads your views should be able to follow them.

In our local, there is a thread moderated by @skarais that is quite helpful for users to rank up and so far it is working quite well as expected.

OK, you got me there, but then, first take a look at the post history of the dude, and see if he is worthy of the merit or not.

Yes, I merit applications, but I don't just merit applications, I first of all check the post history of the applicant, if I find his or her posts worthy, I decide to either merit the post or the user's application here, one thing I make sure of is not to merit application from bounty hunters who dont post anything else on this forum other than proof of Authentication.

And what prevents when viewing posts to send merit to these very posts? After all, this is the point of the merit system, to evaluate posts that are as useful and constructive as possible. And I am also urging as many reading this comment to please follow suit..
And speaking on merit farming, I personally believe that there is no community where there are no bad eggs, and this bad eggs will always find way of perpetrating their evil plans, but it is my believe that the rules here, coupled with the fact that this is a self moderated thread, will help in reducing merit farming to it's barest minimum, if not eradicate it completely on this thread.

The fields provided have invited many people to reap the fruits here, hopefully in V2 there will be more generous people ready to help users who are almost reaching a new rank.
Of course, but it also invites multiple merit farms between one user and another.
You may notice what I'm saying, though it's hard to tell. Look at how eager newbies are to leave their applications here while they are bounty hunters who tend not to care about the merit system and the quality of the posts. It happened on V1, but the same thing may can be done by other users on V2.
There's no denying that, we've seen that in the V1. Merit Farming will still occur even without this thread, similar cases may occur here between one account and another. I totally understand what you're saying, it's hard to detect real farms if they don't do Merit farms directly.
The new rules set by Op and Self moderators can prevent spam from happening here, applications from newbies who don't care about the quality of posts can be immediately eradicated by Op if deemed inappropriate. There's a chance the same thing could happen in V2 but there are very few of them.

New rules for countdown which should strictly followed...

Junior member merit (+1-9) CD to Member

But One shouldn't countdown before Activity reached.

I feel that this one is quite easy to achieve, since they only need 9 to rank up and could already start posting right after gaining 1 Merit. Perhaps start from 5 instead?

I feel like same as you. Gaining one merit is not hard, which is only 10% for the next rank. Users will post applications right after getting one merit from a random post. Imagine you have to earn 10 dollars to get 90 more dollars. I know you will be freaking out to earn just ten dollars. I feel like this is the same as my example. Maybe OP can rearrange the rules if he wants.
