Since lyra2rev2, no longer: too much advantage for the gpus. Well, technically you still can, try tpruvot cpuminer.

Thanks for the answer. Increased gap between cpu & gpu performance in actually good news, recalling the fact that previous algorithm was heavily utilized by cpu botnet )) Concerning the tpruvot - it appears I need to compile the latest github source to check the lyra2rev2 performance, as released version doesn't seem to support it.

Hello Vertguys, is it possible to mine with cpu nowadays? And what software are you using? I know, my question sounds crazy, but still  Grin

@jamesl22 Hello!

What's the status of Elasticity project?

Best regards

I never really liked the idea of "Elasticity". It would be too easy for whales to manipulate the market. And what exchange would you use to dictate what the "price of the coin" is. You would have to put it in the code, and what if that/those exchanges got shut down or stopped working with that code...

I don't feel like getting into it now because it involves somewhat complex economics but I say the way a coin is distributed should never change once launched. Hashing algo is another thing altogether, and I'm proud of how the Devs did a good job of squashing that botnet in good time.

Are we all aware that there is now one Vertcoin wallet containing 20%(!) of all coins?

It's possible this is Cryptsy cold storage or something, right?
It is unlikely to be Cryptsy, in my opinion. I have been monitoring the top five wallets since before the last pump. I think a more pertinent question is: Why would someone collect three million Vert? and What does it mean for Vert?

Unless there is some very special situation, in the long run the distribution will always be uneven, on every kind of "goods" of "value".

Guys,

Today I've find a block.
I saw incoming message in my wallet but when i clicked on it the wallet was empty??
Any idea what is goin wrong?

check the image:

You didn't find a block. You had an accepted share (which is like finding the hash for a block with very low difficulty)

False, that's a block.

So what is wrong then?
Why I dont see any transaction in my wallet?

but... still same error Sad
Ah, yeah, I should have made sure that make all built the libraries and the tests, rather than just the tests.

That being said, is Qt Creator linking the leveldb and boost libraries properly? I've never used Qt Creator because command line compilation is just: qmake && make . But, from your pastebin, it looks like it can't find leveldb or boost... so perhaps making sure Qt Creator knows where the libraries are is the answer.

to your stations, man the pineapples!!!

hi , i'm trying to compile an OSX qt but have hit an error.

i've tried qt creator 5.2.1 5.3.2 and 5.5.0

the deps in the vertcoin-qt.pro say boost 1.52
i've tried 1.54 and 1.55
macports was playing silly buggers else i would've tried 1.52 as well, but apparently 0.8.6.2 updated code to 1.55 so i figure it's probalby not boost ?

my error is a tad excessive
http://pastebin.com/PASA0H4p

but here's the tail end ....
Code:
      std::_Rb_tree, std::less, std::allocator >::_M_insert_unique(std::string const&) in libleveldb.a(env_posix.o)
      std::_Rb_tree, std::_Select1st >, std::less, std::allocator > >::_M_insert(std::_Rb_tree_node_base*, std::_Rb_tree_node_base*, std::pair const&) in libmemenv.a(memenv.o)
ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64

Because leveldb is part of the sources.

To answer the original question, it looks like QT Creator isn't compiling leveldb for you, so it's probably easiest to pop open your terminal, navigate to vertcoin/src/leveldb, and run a make all.
