I'm a noob about to school a miner on hash rates so forgive the arrogance but you're wrong. If that were at all true no coin value would go up because the difficulty always increases. If BTC hadn't got the tar kicked out of it and panic selling were not in full force the correction would have ended around .075 where it turned hard south on the chart instead of north.

Not that we can know that for sure but that dominated all other factors. Look we have been listed on all the right exchanges (which does not include crypled) in record time and there is still much bafflement outside the initiated as to how and why vtc rocked it out of the gate. The supply of coins here is nil compared to any of the rest when you relativize it to demand potential.

Obviously more coins is selling pressure but easily absorbed if the mood is right in the market. Just had very negative mood since Gox. I will add the BTC chart is terrifying me a little, but it really always has so it's nothing to take into account... aside from I am sure others are seeing the same technical picture as I am and wondering if there is a bubble bursting. Same has been said time and again of btc though so will cross fingers and hope the trend resumes.

You must learn that once coin pick up some momentum, difficulty (thus nethashrate) is highly correlated with price...How do You think, what have driven BTC prise so high? ASICS...sooner scrypt asics will be relases, sooner VTC go sky-high.

I am sure this is true when nothing else is going on. But having stared at charts for two days straight with not much sleeping involved, pretty clear vtc is in lockstep with litecoin which is in lockstep with btc. I can see a case for a flight to quality into VTC but I think we are maybe too early for the market to have figured that angle. So we probably won't get a vert rally of substance until ltc and btc rebound or at least stabilize, no matter what the hash rates are. I could be wrong, it's a new coin and I would rather be long vtc at this price than ltc at 19 if things are going to get rockier, or especially if they are going to get better. Either way it is across the board weakness, it is just exagerrated in vert at the moment as it overshot a little out of the gate.

Yeah, R9 290 here too. With your settings, and the amended settings above, I'm only able to push 260kh/s too.

I think you should try to get your GPu engine/memclock back to stock settings and tweak it from there. You've got them really low atm. I've also seen people using I-17 or even higher with the 290's

I have a question about the windows qt wallet. Is it supposed to be reinstalling each time I open it? It always starts with the setup wizard. None of my other qt wallets do this, I normally just open them and they synchronize.

Also, can someone recommend a good pool? I will be using cudaminer.

Talk about it with coworkers/friends/miners .. convince them of VTC's future.

Just buying, selling or even holding.. is just an attempt to wait for others to do those things... whereas you can take control of the situation yourself.
