If we dont go up from here then we're still in the main downward channel from the ath. We need to break this to confirm a true reversal

There is plenty of time to confirm the reversal, can't expect it to completely recover in 2 days. we've already made some unbelievable progress... I know very little about TA though, so just my thoughts.

Flexcoin is shutting down.

On March 2nd 2014 Flexcoin was attacked and robbed of all coins in the hot wallet. The attacker made off with 896 BTC, dividing them into these two addresses:

1NDkevapt4SWYFEmquCDBSf7DLMTNVggdu

1QFcC5JitGwpFKqRDd9QNH3eGN56dCNgy6

As Flexcoin does not have the resources, assets, or otherwise to come back from this loss, we are closing our doors immediately.

Users who put their coins into cold storage will be contacted by Flexcoin and asked to verify their identity. Once identified, cold storage coins will be transferred out free of charge. Cold storage coins were held offline and not within reach of the attacker. All other users will be directed to Flexcoin's "Terms of service" located at "Flexcoin.com/118.html" a document which was agreed on, upon signing up with Flexcoin.
Flexcoin will attempt to work with law enforcement to trace the source of the hack.

Updates will be posted on twitter as soon as they become available.

More likely is that Flexcoin pulled a Gox and robbed its own customers.

On the 1d chart of Bitstamp the MA's are about to crossover again. This has almost always been a good indicator of a price increase in the past. fyi.

Calling bitcon "solid money" is a lie, pure and simple.

How can you make this statement without having a definition of "solid money"?

Because it implies that bitcoin's market value is more relaible than that of dollars and such.  It is not, of course.

So... "solid money" is metal stamped into a coin with a nominal value that you can scrap to obtain the nominal value. What do you get when you sell the scrap metal? More coins? Pigs and chickens?

What makes these coins "solid money"? How do they sustain their value?

Copper is useful for wires, nickel is useful for counter tops, gold is useful for electronics and jewelry... That is what I meant.  I am not saying that such money would be good, not even that this is a good definition of "solid money".

I think by solid money he means whatever poisonous crap the central banks foist upon us at interest in order to rob us of our substance.
Please correct me if I am wrong, Jorge.

I feel is pietila and his team trying to manipulate when the market's not ready.

I'm waiting for "the team's" Bitcoins to be stored on a laptop in an unattended hotel sauna. Another accident is bound to happen, immediately followed by another vacation of a couple months. It really is awful (and beautiful in a weird way) to see the pattern repeated over and over in different ways, and how there is an endless supply of folks willing to be taken.

Loose "investment" formula:
1) gain some reputation, deservedly or not
2) gain a following by manufacturing (or simply promising) a high return in some fashion
3) have followers entrust BTC with you
4) claim theft, incompetence, etc.
5) engender sympathy (sometimes 4 and 5 are coupled) OR assume another identity
6) start again at #1 or #2 in 6-12 months. I imagine this phase may be shrinking.

Could you define "solid money" for us?

Hmm.  It should be useful, have value, but not be so attractive that people hoard it indefinitely.  It should have qualities that facilitate growth.  It should be produced organically, rather than by artifice or collusion.  It should be tangible so that you can tell whether you actually are holding it.

I know!  Manure!

anyone else think yesterday's leg up seems a little misplaced? I feel is pietila and his team trying to manipulate when the market's not ready. Gox business isn't over. Good news is starting to outweigh the bad though.....we should just hang out around the low 600s for a while. Let's ath around summer Smiley

Yeah, I think I should short at 690, have not a good feeling about it that I bought @685 yesterday

No, sorry, I can't.  You should ask whoever uses that term.

(But metal coins whose nominal value equals their value as scrap metal may be "solid money", perhaps.)
