I think allot of earlyish adopters are selling small percentages, but more of the newer money is still holding out as it's not yet at teh point of returning investment without selling a large percentage.

And this is why I use a trading bot..  I dont have to worry about all of this..

Buy Low Sell High baby..   I sleep well at night  Grin

This surge took me by surprise, I was planning on starting my bot up at $500 but I need to update the libraries and fix a bug.

Oh well, who knows, it still might correct down below $500 soon.
Which bot do you use, if I might ask please?

A bit off topic, but what's the best way to get USD into any of the exchanges quickly*? I used to use bitinstant but that's down. Wires all seem to take 10 days. I need some capital ready to soak up the blood bath Sad

Since what happened tonight, I need a new one too...

Coinbase will lock in a price instantly, and deliver your coins in 5 business days (a week to you and me).

But there are a few problems with this strategy:

1. Must have a US bank account
2. Must have already completed a couple microtransactions
3. 10 BTC per day limit for buys (unless you do KYC)
4. Typically higher than Bitstamp and BTC-e, less than Mt. Gox though.
5. They are all out of coins at the moment.

Well, they give you a 10 BTC instant transaction, but the cash for it takes about a week to pull from your account.  You can also buy or sell up to 50 BTC a day.  What I'm doing is mining, sending them to bitstamp, selling high, buying low, sending to coinbase, and cashing out there because the value is much greater...

Gresham's Lawyer
CampBX is still under D-DOS.

D-DOS defense is a finite and knowable issue to resolve, but it does take some investment in technology and architecture.
Any profitable exchange should be able to afford it.

Just sold 10% of my coins.  I believe in bitcoin and think it will go much higher, but at a certain point it seems ridiculous not to rebalance your portfolio.  I think it is wise to remain diversified.

In San Diego at ASME (engineer) conference... this is super distracting.

$7 Billion market cap.  It's going to be very neat to see more well-funded start ups that are bound to jump into the space now (with the added incentive).  Many more companies like Coinbase, Circle and others to come I'm sure.

the fastest way would be to go offer PPUSD for bitcoin in the trading forum.

well, they could also go to virwox.com and use their paypal (or most debit/credit cards, but not AMEX) to deposit money there, but SLL, then exchange the SLL to BTC and withdraw the BTC. only takes a few minutes. not sure what the fees are though. haven't done it since the 100's.

I've sold 25% of my coins, I'm sure I'll regret it, but this just feels impossible.

(Also Bitcoins were approaching something like 75% of my net worth... not bad because I invested something like 5% of my net worth in them originally)

Am I stupid =/

I did too - I consider it insurance. You know how many times i wished I walked away from the table when I was gambling? Well, I learned that lesson well. I still have a healthy amount, so I'm just now waiting to see if I want to buy back in lower.

You're not alone.
