Any guesses to why stamp is slowly dropping all by it self? Delayed reaction because of ddos?

Selling in front of the Senate hearing, expecting a flash crash like yesterday to buy back lower.

Too risky for my blood.

I think that its probable that at some point, within the next 24 hours, on some exchange, somewhere, there will be sub $500 prices.

Yesterday you thought the bubble would never end, today it's doomsday. You panic in either direction.

Anyone that susceptible to emotion has no business trading.

No offense, really, but you're going to lose your money.

i paid in BTC

Ouch. One of the smartest things I've done was pay for my BFL pre-order with dollars instead of bitcoins.

While I've only mined 0.902btc in the 27 days I've had it, it has almost paid for itself.

Last night it briefly had passed the $810 I paid including shipping, taxes and (ugh) customs brokerage.

What the hell does that mean? What's the "physical bottom" for gold?

the cost of pulling it out of the ground,  it can undershoot below that, but it can't stay down there for long typically, because it is used as a store of value, is fungible, and was the worlds currency for a large bulk of years (after salt, before pound sterling), it tends north of physical bottom

That assumption is incorrect, it doesn't matter how much it costs to produce if people don't want it that much and there's tons of it in existence.

You know it costs money to mine a bitcoin, right?

Speaking of which: does anyone know if it's workable to cash out on btcchina, buy gold bullion, and get it shipped to the States? Could a company be started to do that to exploit the huge arbitrage in the exchanges?
I know right?  Professional arbitrageurs must be drooling at bitcoin exchanges.
