Well for your sake I hope that he takes the bet as that would probably shut him up for good and when/if he loses you can just tell him that you've done him a favor and shown him that Bitcoin is worth investing in so he may have lost the $5 that you wagered but he now has the proof and the encouragement to trust that Bitcoin is profitable.

Actually, right now it feels a lot like the 2018 $6000 level just before the drop to $3000. I hope it is not going to repeat that but the lower highs with solid looking support is exactly what happened then.

Let's remember where it all started from and where we are right now: 14 days to flatten the curve turned into get n vaccines and still isolate yourself/get infected. I personally think that at this point it's all about choosing between risking side effects of vaccines and risking to catch the virus anyway and having its side effects instead. But as I said multiple times, one is a choice while the other is a probability.

The worst part is the Green Pass thing, which clearly discriminates people and is clearly a communist strategy they're easily applying all around the world under the excuse of protecting us. It's the exact same thing they're doing with Bitcoin, Monero and terrorism/crimes. They're using these excuses to try controlling Bitcoin and us. Just think about the rules and laws they've been adding in the past two years. Remember they tried to break Bitcoin LN and Monero.

They want to add backdoors in everything? China already has them. They want to analyze every European citizen's messages ever to determine whether they should be flagged as criminals or not and revoke our right to privacy? China already does that. The world's governments coming up with regulations through which its citizens get denied access to certain services if using crypto the non-surveillance way? China pretty much has a citizen social scoring system that's eerily close to that.. Remember China was the first AFAIK who came up with those "passes" needed for entry in public transport vehicles, restaurants, shops etc. Europe is doing that now.

All the stuff above is happening under two kinds of escuses: terrorism/crime and "our protection". But through them, we're getting very close to how China treats their citizens. I think it's quite clear "protecting us" is not their intention anymore (if it ever even was) and they're seeking completely different goals instead. By the time we'll all accept green passes and whatever else they're willing to be shoving up our arses, there'll be no more going back to what we previously had.

Maybe wait till 21st July, something's cooking up

Ok I get the re infection part, and I knew that, since vaccines are 100% ok and we all know that.

But then the green pass part? Why should I bear a green pass to board a plane if I can get reinfected and still be contagious/prone to reinfection?

"Reinfection" is not only possible. It is unavoidable. The simple reason for that is the FACT that side effects of the so called vaccines are presented as a different C-19 strain. The higher is the % of vaccinated in a country the higher will be the % of reinfected with the next C-19 "strain".

Welcome to the thread.. and hopefully investing into bitcoin...

Hopefully you are not gambling in terms of how you are thinking about bitcoin.. which is a kind of idea that comes out through the expression of "trying your luck."

Of course, bitcoin as an investment I tend to recommend figuring out your personal situation and view of bitcoin and you can attempt to learn as you go, but looking at your cashflow, timeline, other investments, view of bitcoin as compared to other investments, risk tolerance and your time, abilities and skills to learn along the way, plan and figure out some goals as well as tweak along the way too, as you are learning.

As far as BTC accumulation goals, I tend to recommend that accumulation happens through a variety of lump sum investing, dollar cost averaging and buying on dips, but also an investment into BTC is better to have a 4-year (or longer.. longer is better) time horizon rather than short-term the BTC price can go anywhere, up, down, sideways or many combinations of those directions all at the same time.. but surely you would need to figure out some kind of system that is comfortable for you and tailored to your own situation that hopefully goes beyond gambling, of course.

By the way, you can gamble with shitcoins (altcoins as you refer to them), but fuck that nonsense, you can talk about whatever you are doing in regards to that crap (aka shitcoins) in some other thread.
