my friend “luck is the residue of design”

I like the version which goes along the lines of "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity". I've found it to be very true as I let many opportunities slip by until I learned how to see them (and I've probably missed many even still).

I came across an interesting post here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64920899 well the main take is this Link https://blog.lopp.net/bitcoin-2024-annual-review/

It shows Bitcoin annual review by Jameson Loop and it was a well compiled review. 2024 was indeed different.

This is Pierre Poilievre. He is expected to be Canada’s next prime minister. He is also pro Bitcoin.
We are winning.
Corrected. They are winning. They need Bitcoin and accepting it is a sign the are winning.
$100,400

We are backkkkkkkk.
This is it. We have officially started.

Oh cool, 101k!

But lets be honest, 100k is so 2024. Next is 200k.
$100K becoming Old school already

What I hate is paying exorbitant taxes to subsidize luxuries for politicians, woke brainwashing of schoolchildren, gender manipulation of minors and handouts to junkies, welfare bums and "homeless" non-contributors. Don't even get me started on tax credits to banks and other corporations

Government spending is the root of the problem. Cut spending and tax cuts can follow.
The Citizens are now means to maintain their standard as 'nobles' and showcase their power

Citizens interest? Is that a Private Jet?

If nothing is done about all these then the future is in worse hands.

I sang this in the shower this morning after reading that (still rumored) news (not making this up).

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all of us command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

And jealous you guys could have Poilievre as your next PM!
If Trump has his way he will annex Canada and all the way south to and including the Panama Canal.

In turn for China and Russia looking the other way he will butt out of all Asian and European affairs.

Should be an unholy mess.

I am assuming that is a posturing tactic he is using in both of those cases (ala "little rocketman").  But who knows with Trump?

Well its an old idea that Teddy Roosevelt used to push

You're never too old to think young.
Poilievre has already stated his opposition to high capital gains taxes. Too bad it won't be until after the tax filing deadline on April 30 before he can win the election and do something about it.

I just paid off the last of my capital gains tax arrears today after 4 years of paying compound interest trying to avoid gutting my Bitcoin stash. Bought the dollars this morning when Bitcoin was at its peak. Indeed it has been a great day so far.

Talking to the taxman assigned to my case, he agreed that taxing capital gains on Bitcoin is like taxing foreign exchange.

Let's hope Poilievre is as serious about lowering capital gains taxes as he is about ending "carbon" taxes.

Glad bitcoin cooperated with you finally!  That badger truly dgaf.  I can hardly wait until March and I would love to see the carbon tax axed as the first order of new business!

Agreed. "Carbon" is just a lame excuse. All taxes are a money grab.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mind paying fair taxes to pay for plowed highways, fueled ambulance helicopters, sanitary sewers, etc. What I hate is paying exorbitant taxes to subsidize luxuries for politicians, woke brainwashing of schoolchildren, gender manipulation of minors and handouts to junkies, welfare bums and "homeless" non-contributors. Don't even get me started on tax credits to banks and other corporations

I've had 2 acquaintances I pretty much only hear from at bubble tops reach out to me asking about Bitcoin in the last 24 hours.  That is not the greatest sign.  Both of these guys have been in and out in previous cycles though so they aren't total newbies anymore.  I think the last time I heard from them was when Bitcoin was at $50K in 2021 so it is a sign of some sort.  If anything, the normies aren't ignoring Bitcoin anymore.  The gains are beginning to entice them into the market.

A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.
I wake up to a $100,000 Bitcoin price and Justin Trudeau resigning?!?! What an amazing morning already! Canadians finally have a reason to be happy about something! So glad to see the tide turning in the world. I have such high expectations for this year. If we get close to them I think we’ll all be extremely pleased.

Yeah I was happy until I found out Trudeau prorogued parliament until March 24th which prevents a non-confidence vote on his leadership which would have happened soon.  These bastards never want to leave once they taste power no matter how unpopular they become.

edit: On a brighter note, they never did get their budget passed that increases the inclusion rate on cap gains to 66.67% up from 50%.  Hopefully that dies along with his gov't.

Amen. Poilievre has already stated his opposition to high capital gains taxes. Too bad it won't be until after the tax filing deadline on April 30 before he can win the election and do something about it.

Carbon taxes are bullshit in the first place because they do not work as intended. Just like the US tariffs imposed on China; the costs simply get passed on to the little guy, the taxpayer/customer, who gets to foot the bill.

The politicians fill their pockets and the real environmentalists get portrayed as the scammers.

I agree, the walking is definitely helping, not that food intake isn't important, but any sustained cardio for a decent amount of time daily should improve the insulin resistance in your body and be more forgiving on what you are putting into it. I've tried to go by 30 minutes a day at least, currently do around 45 mins 5 days a week, the other 2 at least 15-20 mins of exercise, although all at once. I'm not perfect though and could do better throughout the day, needing to be behind a computer a lot for work isn't always helpful, but I keep myself active.

My grandmother would always tell me to just take a 10 minute walk after larger meals, which gets in 30 minutes after 3 meals. I've never been a big walker myself, but she did it after almost every meal, just walked around the neighborhood, or would do something outside, gardening, yard work, etc. Later in her life she added in a stationary bike because I think she just couldn't keep up with the walking around, but primarily was always a walker and tried to keep herself moving and active.

I think you would be considered a pre-diabetic at this point, which shouldn't change what you are doing, without maintaining it you will likely become a diabetic, especially if there is any family history, but it sounds like you're doing the right things to avoid it so keep it up and don't let your guard down.

Food and exercise goes hand in hand. We need to maintain balance between both of them to have good health. You can't have good health with only exercise or only food. Walk or exercise should be like our habit which we should enjoy doing it.

I have a friend with whom I do walk everyday. If you have a partner which do exercise with you daily then it help in regularity.

You just check blood sugar after doing 10min walk and one reading without doing walk, you will clearly see how much impact walk has on reducing blood sugar.

I am scared of diabetes because my father was diabetic and he has renal failure due to diabetes which resulted in his death (RIP). When I was first diagnosed with diabetes my a1c was 9. Since then I am doing my best to keep it under control. Wish me luck, so I can live long.
