I think there are two types of risks. First of all, the price of the coin that we invested in is very low. Second, trade bans stipulated by states.

There are only 2 risks:
1st is that you will loose money by investing into a bad coin.
2nd is that you will loose money because someone will hack your private key.

What do you guys think are the real risks of cryptocurrencies and are there any ways of overcoming them? I've attached a good article below that covers a lot of the solutions to what people consider problematic at the moment, and it essentially says most of the risks are down to the user and not the technology (i.e. lack of education). Am interested to hear your opinions.

The interesting article: https://medium.com/@DDhopn/what-are-the-risks-of-buying-crypto-ff1c991a6c83

P.S. I am heavily involved in crypto, just keeping an open mind
Just like you have noted, it is all about not being educated adequately, but I'd like to call it ‘lack of information and inability to accurately interpret available information ’... Its is actually a defect that people needs to deal with

The main risk attached to crypto is loss of funds either from exchange hacks, personal wallet hacks or scam ICOs. The one caused by the user is ignorance or carelessness leading to personal wallet hacks. Exchange hacks or scam ICO issues is not solely the user's fault. Proper crypto education will help solve this a great deal, hence reducing risks to minimum.

I believe that we risk losing absolutely all of our funds, but at the same time I can definitely tell you that we can earn incredible money, so I think that the risk is quite justified.

Well, there are many, here only a few:

Risking savings or too much money
Many don't use this rule and wake up badly. So don't invest more you are willing to lose and very important, don't take a loan.

FOMO & FUD!
Every research can be ruined if it's driven by FOMO or FUD. It's important to look at the facts and don't let emotions result in wrong decisions.

Avoid being hacked
It's important to be careful of hackers. Don't store too much money in exchanges, check website url to avoid entering your password on a phishing site and don't click suspicious links.

Personally, my opinion is as follows. In our turbulent times, there is always a risk, especially when it comes to some kind of investment. And if we are engaged in cryptocurrency, then our earnings depend on the price of some kind of cryptocurrency in the market. And in this case, we can only observe and do small calculations for ourselves so as not to burn out when the price can fall very low down. You need to be always ready to save or increase your investments.
everything related to investment in real life or cryptocurrency certainly has a very high risk. crypto's real risk itself is that it is very vulnerable to fraud because there are many people who want to get profits quickly and easily by making fake projects with teams that don't have a clear reputation

Real risk would most likely be included on all sorts when it comes to investment. Lack of knowledge, prone to scams and swindlers, prone to hackers and more. These are the real risk and so as with
trading risk too where crypto prices are way too volatile which causes for you to lose up money instead of gaining. Risk can somehow be managed or be lessen by way of experience and gaining knowledge
gradually about on what you are engaging.

When the use of a thing is not known or when knowledge is is lost, then misuse is inevitable. One of the problems we have as humans is that we sometimes refuse to learn some things that would add value to us and that will be beneficial to us in future.
Most of the mistakes we make as users or humans could have been avoided had it been we had taken our time to learn the right things at the right time.

Risk is the internal character in any business. I don't think ban is the main problem for cryptocurrencies, rather technological advancement can be a problem for crypto if better technology is seen in the upcoming days.

Potential investors should be aware that this is a very speculative instrument. In addition, cryptocurrencies have a number of vulnerabilities. There are cases when hackers received unauthorized access to digital wallets and crypto-currency exchanges. Thus, in 2016, investors ' funds worth more than $ 50 million were stolen from the Fund called DAO.
In addition, the cryptocurrency market is incredibly volatile. The said DAO hack led to a sharp drop in the price of Ethereum. Such events are extremely difficult to predict, and in order to avoid significant losses, the investor must constantly keep abreast of the relevant cryptocurrency community. Therefore, it is necessary to approach the issue of investment very carefully

The real risk of the crypto is the scammers, lot of people using the anonymity of crypto currencies to scam to people in many ways like creating a scam ICO with fake team or by creating fake wallets or exchanges and sometimes scamming the people without paying the money to them.

the real risk is when a wallet is hacked and the balance disappears. because we cannot report to the authorities or the government about the theft. the second is the fluctuating price, but I think the risk is already being experienced by crypto users.

All the risks that you know are present in cryptocurrencies, it's no longer a secret that today cryptocurrency is a high-risk project, which in most cases obliges you to evaluate risks before you invest in anything.

I think that the real risks of crypto are connected with the fact that not all people accept crypto still considering it the one that you can't rely on. to my mind, it is better to avoid risks and keep coins
This isn't a real risk at all.

You think that slow adoption means a risk? no it's not a risk but its a problem that we have to deal with. But this problem will soon have its own resolution as day after day there are more people that are coming in and starts to get interested with crypto's.

It will always be the user and not the technology. The lack of knowledge and understanding is really what drives the risks in any kind of industry. Let us have an anology: for instance you would want to learn how to drive a motorbike the risk of being in an accident is not to be blamed to the bike but rather your knowledge and experience on how to drive it.
Lack of knowledge about investment in cryptocurrency is the things that we need to avoid because it will bring you a huge loses. The real risks in cryptocurrency is the unstable and volatile market which the price always change and there are time that the market will totally down or up.
