I've got into gambling because of the influence of some close friends. Of course, as a sort of respect then I have tried it. Well, something it went well in the first few days of being with him and it drags my interest until such time that I'm doing this alone and this is the beginning of suffering terrible losses. And then I inform my friend about it and receives some advice which it opens my mind and think that I was wrong. I've got fooled by that experience but I was also thankful because of that experience I realized that gambling needs luck and not all the time we have it.

Same here. It's not that someone influenced me to start my journey in sports betting, it was my own decision to do it because I was amazed and curious as well how comfortable it is to experience some winnings from betting such games like football, boxing, and basketball just like what my friends did. And since I'm already familiar with how the game works and knows how to analyze which team got a much higher probability, it wasn't that hard for me to start and within a few days, I was lucky until I experience the exact opposite of it.

A roommate of mine used to spend on sports betting. He used to make better predictions and win good sum of money and spend lavishly. This got me interested towards sports betting, and I'm kind of person who doesn't want to place bets on the opponent when my favourite team is playing. For this reason I prefer spending only on matches in which it is something assured with very low odds of winning. Until I was into sports betting everything is good, things started to collapse once after my entry into casino games.

Regret do always come at the end and there's no way that you would really be having those regrets on the start on which it would really be that normal it wont come in the front or from the start. People would really

be the ones who would experiencing those kind of situation or condition are to those people who hadnt been able to control themselves and tolerate out their gambling addiction.For those who do able to control
out themselves then it is really that good but for those who havent? For sure they are really that experiencing this kind of condition on which they had been wrecked up by gambling. Gambling should really be for fun
and not something for making money or minding about on being rich because it cant really be that possible specially on long term aspect.  Play according into your own leisure means and not on that income making
kind of mindset.
Dont let your greed and impulsive emotion would really be able to control you because if you do then you would really be creating out such kind of mistake which is something that most
gamblers do really be ending up.

Wow, that's a big change. Must have been quite a mental tug of war to go from viewing gamblers as reckless to finding yourself walking that route. I get it; the temptation of quick cash can be great, especially if a loved one is already enjoying success and a seemingly normal lifestyle

But I have to be the one to talk sense into this, buddy. Despite your friend's $100 win that day, how many times have they actually lost? Gambling is a surefire way to lose money over time. Surely the casino always comes out on top. Instead, you should think about setting up a hobby or skill-based side hustle. It may not be as exciting as gambling, but it has less potential downsides in the form of bankruptcy or addiction

It sounds very funny lol, but that would be a very wrong advise to give to a friend who just lost 80% of his monthly income to gambling, though there are chances that he could still recover his lose if he try again with the remaining 20% but at that point his mind doesn't seem okay due to the sadness of losing such amount of money therefore it's not advisable to predict another game with an unstable state of mind, however I believe he's learnt the hard way and experience they say it the best teacher.
 
 There's a saying that all fingers are not equally and everyone's luck in life cannot be same, however you should consider giving more advise to such persons that's been gambling for years and still has nothing to show for it, because they're gradually becoming addicted to it and loosing more money, my advise to them is either they quit or look for other strategies with a better chances of giving them profit.

What brought me into gambling is almost the same thing as the op, If not completely the same to be honest..

Before I started gambling, I've lived around, and with gamblers but it never catched my interest, I some how have always seen gamblers as a bunch of lazy and irresponsible set of individuals, this was basically due the kind of lifestyle most of them lived, I hated such lifestyles, and the fact it was almost only gamblers I see living like that made me hate gamblers and gambling..

Until I made a new friend in my working place, the guys was so humble, down to earth, respectful, very very friendly, soon, I went from liking him to loving him not just as a friend but as a brother, and when I discovered he plays gambling, I could not believe it, his mostly into lotto and sports betting, I tried to advise him to stop but he said there is nothing wrong with gambling, that its just one of his side hustles, and he advised me to start doing the same instead of depend only on my monthly salary, just few days after this advise, he won over $100 from a lotto he played, that money was almost 3x the amount we collect as monthly salary back then, this was when I really began to consider gambling, fews days later, I followed him to a lotto shop, and that was how my gambling journey began.

Basically people know that gambling has risks, good and bad are always felt by every gambler, but people are still interested in betting, factors vary, depending on the individual.

My experience, gambling is a challenge for me, I can develop my skills when betting, I like challenges, actually gambling has a lot of good and bad impressions that I feel, where I experienced all that when I won and lost, it was a pleasure for me when I could beat the bookies.

I often say someone has been involved in gambling they are like being hypnotized, no matter how many losses they have experienced and wins, they continue to take the time to do it, that is gambling strange but fun.

There are some people who cannot control their gambling activities but they don't want to call them as addicted gambler. They will gamble a lot and lose yet never take a break from gambling. The number of such gamblers is very high. If they are called as addicted gamblers, they take it in a negative aspects. A gambler can continue gambling as long as he has money, but when the money runs out, many regret it. Therefore, everyone should focus on how to conduct responsible gambling rather than considering gambling as a tool for income.

You would have advised him to use the remaining 20% of his savings in staking a new bet, who knows he could have recovered through a lucky win, lolz. Nonsense! What in heavens name was he thinking that amde him took such stupid decision of risking 80% of his savings
 on gambling. He doesn't deserve pity for being stupid. We are not assured that's why we're always alarmed to use money we can let go to gamble.
The results from gambling happens differently to different people. Some persons are so lucky that with their first trial they had their first win, while there are persons that have been gambling with online casinos for years yet haven't had a single win but hope keeps them going that someday they might be lucky, and who knows it could be a major jackpot. And this attitude just keep them gambling never thinking of quiting.

Like someone else, what attracted me to gambling is the ability to multiply my money while enjoying playing the game for a short period of time. It was later on that I know the risks. After that, I only play gambling responsibly. Those analysts you are telling forgot that manipulations can happen too in gambling. Those who does that will have a 100 percent winning rate.

Your friend is lucky to meet you because if not then maybe he already ended his life due to depression cause by gambling. We should not compare our selves to others because like you said, some are just lucky, some are skillful, and some has the guts to do a risky thing only to win in gambling.

I once experienced playing with friends where we played gambling using our respective laptops in one of our friend's rooms. Seeing each of us speak harshly to each other when they lost at gambling was a different sensation. But when one or several friends win at gambling, we celebrate it together. That may have attracted the attention of some of our friends who had just joined us, so they only saw us playing gambling together. After that, they became even more curious and tried playing gambling with their laptops. It was an unforgettable memory because we could play gambling together in our friend's room while discussing various things.

well, that's you saying, then what about the others? because someone who is addicted does not feel he is an addict but he feels fine with his gambling.

btw, even though self-control is very important like you do and you say you are a seasoned gambler but I am sure you still go to gambling even though it is very rare and I call it you are addicted. it's just that your addiction level is very low and hasn't reached a higher level.
I don't accuse you of being an addict but I've felt the same way in the past. I agree that gambling responsibly is the main key to being safe at gambling.

Gambling mainly depends on luck and each people's luck are random. If not then it will be a disaster for all of the casinos. At one point many of them are closing down but on the other, their business are growing quickly. Don't be too discouraged if you cannot win in gambling. It's not the main objective of it anyway but it was about having fun. Yes even if we lose, the fun part is still there while if we don't, there won't be anymore.

If money only matters to you, well, that is a different story. Obviously, you will still be smiling. Regrets always happens at the end. Don't beat yourself too much as it was already done but just focus on how you can improve yourself on the current moment and onwards.

Most gamblers who have a gambling addiction just like you believe that there is no problem.

I had a period in my life when I could not control my alcohol consumption and as a consequence I could not control my spending on gambling and other entertainment. If I had been asked at the time if I had an alcohol addiction I would have said I did not. I have not been drinking alcohol for a long time, so I can say with certainty that I do not have alcohol dependence. A lot of time has passed since then and I have learned to control myself when gambling. I don't lose money that is meant for important things and I don't gamble every day, but I still can't say with certainty that I don't have a gambling addiction.

I'm not an addicted gambler, but rather a seasonal gambler who enjoys it for entertainment purposes. I've also had my fair share of both losses and winnings, but I approach it with a balanced mindset. Gambling attracts me because of the possibility of winning, even though the risks often outweigh the rewards. Remember that success in gambling is not guaranteed, regardless of expertise or knowledge. Each individual's experience varies, and while some may be lucky, others may face more challenges. My advice; It's important to be mindful of the potential financial consequences and please, gamble responsibly.

Well, as for playing poker, a while ago I met a guy who had a lot of money, he was always buying clothes and cologne, and going on trips all the time. I figured that money ran in his family, but in the end I found out that it was because he played online poker. It would be 2007 or so, when it was very easy to win as long as you learned to select starting hands and play ABC poker. At that time for a moment it crossed my mind if I could play but I discarded it because I saw it too strange, as everything was linked to gambling in general, a world that I did not understand. About a couple of years or three later I decided to learn and play when online poker began to decline due to the proliferation of schools, which lowered the ratio of fish/regulars at the tables, the rise of rake, events like Black Friday and the regulation that took place in European countries.

I have never made enough money from poker to think about devoting myself exclusively to it, but it has given me regular extra income, being the best years in terms of profitability the first, 2010 and 2011 I would say, and also the pandemic, from mid-March 2020, which showed that there were many bored people at home without much idea of playing who decided to play poker while drinking beers.

      -  I can't say that I was attracted to gambling, maybe I was just curious, although I know that gambling is not good when it is really excessive. Because of curiosity, I decided to put money into gambling here in crypto gambling, only a small amount, around 20$.

After that, there are times when I gamble twice a month and there are times when I experience gambling here for two consecutive weeks. But right now because I'm quite busy with other things, I haven't been able to gamble at the moment.

You're right because going into gambling without all this qualities is like going into a wild goose chase because you'll end up losing more and making little or no profits, nobody is said to be a gambling expert from birth, i take a gradual process to matter the act of gambling and come up with good strategies, so it's a good idea to learn from experts as well as taking note of their mistakes and learn from it as well, because being an expert doesn't guarantee that you ain't prone to mistakes, in gambling one wrong choice can make you lose a very huge amount of money so learn and develop new ideas.

 Nobody is above mistakes,  but there are some people that refuse to take not of their errors they keep on making same mistakes claiming there are chances they'll profit from it some day, and they forget that the more you wait for those chances the more you lose more money because you don't bet for free, so instead regularly loosing money why not come up with other strategies, try new methods or other sports you're familiar with and bet on them. Instead of hoping on your mistakes. In gambling Mistakes are bound to have but learning from it, makes you a good gamblers.

Aside from that, gambling offers a wide variety that you can play whether you're with random people and even with you friends and if you're feeling in the mood to be alone, there are games as well that can suit your mood. But what I wanted the most is the thrill, excitement and entertainment it can bring to me because that is what I'm after in the first place then money comes in second as I just treat that as an added bonus.
