Technology of course, good anime, crazy fashion and sakura.
Technology in japan is great too, their culture is something we should look forward to, disciplined and hospitable people.
Anime. Specifically a certain TV series from the last century. Also from my childhood. Name is "Rorouni Kenshin: The Wandering Samurai". Also known as "Samurai X". It also brings some memories of it's beautiful soundtracks. They were really soothing.
I always see the country of Japan is a developed country. and many people are experts in creating sophisticated technology. like cryiptocurrency .
Tokyo city of course. And Japanese food, it's simply insane. Also the Fujiyama volcano which is the historical heritage of Japan.
When I always think of Japan, the first thing that comes to my mind is cherry blossoms, ramen, and also sophisticated technology
And beautiful women. Aah yes, the women. I forgot to mention that earlier.

The first thing I think about is the cherry blossoms. Then the Japanese are very disciplined and high work ethic. And beautiful women and cool, make the heart happy and always smiling

I think of fish and other seafood. Also lots of buildings and technology.
When I always think of Japan, the first thing that comes into my mind is Anime. That is because I am an Otaku. I always wanted to go there and buy tons of Anime stuffs.

Actually the first thing that comes to my mind are samurai.
Japanese are hard working but very strange people. I would love to visit Tokyo some time.
I think Monster Hunter. As its prob imo one of the best developed game out there.
Samurai, Sakura, traditions, technologies, originality
For me, Japan is a different world, on this earth. People there are very kind, but at the same time can stand up for themselves. Then there is a very well developed discipline. Discipline in their blood seems to me. Respect for the elders is in the first place.
First think that comes in my mind is technology.wow its amazing technology in japan.we see metro trains,buses,atomic powers,little things for life easier.and second thing is theris progress and devlopment.we saw that many earthquake occurred and japan do not penic.its theirs strength.
Spotless and polite people. Sometimes too clean. 
Very innovative, artistic and of course delicious food! Oh, and everything is rooted in culture and history.
