I am comfortable on both the devices and wager on laptop as well as Mobile phone also but yes there are some people who don't have access to laptop as it's comparatively expensive for them and it's more convenient on mobile devices for them to wager.For me I am outside so carrying laptop is not always working for me so have both options to me.

People that are used to computers will use computers, but did you people know that phone web browsers now are also perfect for gambling. People have phones than computer, some people sees their phone as computer this days because almost everything they want is what their phone can handle, I do not see it surprising that exchanges, gambling sites and many others are having mobile app today, because they know that most people are now using phone to access their sites. but the safer way to gamble is still desktop as we can use smart anti virus and protection so our gambling accounts and funds will not be ruined .
This is not something I had thought but you are right, I am kind of paranoid when it comes to making a transaction and I check over and over again that everything is correct before sending my bitcoin, and in a desktop this is easy as the screen is big and you have perfect control with a physical keyboard and a mouse, but doing all of that on a smartphone is many times more complex as there are many more chances to make a mistake and I would not be surprised that on average way more mistakes were made by smartphone users than desktop users.
Phone is more convenient for me because I am use to phone than computer, some people can prefer computer while some people will prefer phone. I prefer the virtual keyboard on phone than the number keyboard on computer, my phone display is 1080p while my computer is 720p and not clear like phone. I prefer making transaction on phones than computer too. 
but for security purpose ? i still use Mobile specially Iphone for safer browsing and installation , but like what you said in terms of browsing? i still prefer laptop or Personal computer as it has bigger screen and the comfort in my computer chair in which the position of my body and hands are really in good feel.

I'm not really fond of doing gambling on a phone even If I'm traveling, I would preferably wait to get into my destination and do gambling on my laptop at least than do it on my phone. I just don't enjoy it that much playing on a phone given that it is small and the desktop layout of the website is far different from the layout in phone which makes me feel like new in my favorite casino website. It also feels somewhat laggy even I'm using an 3 year old flagship phone which is a big hindrance in playing crash game which accuracy is important. I am strongly in favour of desktop applications or even web based, as I think that phones are usually to small and I do not really trust much the apps, but there seems to be many people who would rather use their phone. Is that because they do not have access to a desktop computer? It may also be a regional issue, the same as people that do not use a browser?
I believe not many people like to use handset to do anything concerning online application than a computer especially desktop so even myself it always be faster for me to browse with a handset is paid off using computer it is people that grow up with the computer that can know or use computer to do all their work and the fast of their work with computer so myself I've mastered answered and answered and being what you use to do all of our work

Each user have got difference of opinion using different devices for the purpose of gambling. I'm much used with mobile devices for gambling. Once I gave a try with desktop and it looks like something new, though I played the same game that I spend often through mobile phones. Just like myself, I barely leave my phone behind because on my phone I can remotely do what ever I want to do as I do not go about with laptop so if I am to say, I do well with my smartphone unlike my laptop which I use basically for large documents uptime and other activities which requires high capacity files to work on. I do that mostly when I am billed to do that but the rest of he other activities are done with my phone and that has me going on with it smoothly without any form of challenges. I think I am now used to it as I do regular activities with my smartphone and sometimes, I try my best to see if I can be able to execute some task meant to be done with my desktop or laptop.

You can answer this yourself without a long day of looking at how frequently you use phone regularly. Most people are closer to there phone that even a laptop or desktop. You know that desktop is big and it's not easy to move up and down like the way we use our phone even putting it in out pocket. Unless you are programmer, so you can be more closer to your laptop than phone.
I appreciate both for a multitude of reasons op. I tend to use my phone way more than my laptop for reasons such as low weight - portability, heavily optimised apps, high battery capacity coupled with razor fast charging speeds etc.

But mobile games are more friendly most especially in outdoor games mobile device is easy to carry about and because of that comfort, they attract more users than desktop...
There is no doubt that phones are easier to play with if you are on the move. They are smaller, lighter, and fit into a pocket in contrast to laptops that need their own laptop case or a backpack. But seeing how big the displays on modern smartphones are becoming, soon they won't fit into pockets either. The only drawback which i see in mobile gambling is the small screen. Although we can carry mobile anywhere but what is so urgent to do gambling when you are on the move or going somewhere ?

Some games are just not optimized well enough for comfortable mobile gaming. They work great on desktop systems, but can't present the same quality on phones. Luckily, the whole point of casino games isn't to enjoy splendid graphics and the details in the surroundings.

Op you didn't mention activities which the particular device will be used. Because all depends on the activities the device will be used. Is it for gambling or for the forum? Desktop had it own features and functions and the same to phone, and also the speeds are different as well. There are different factors that making some people to use phone more than desktop just like me. Desktop consumes data more than mobile phone. Desktop can not be carried and move with flexible but mobile phone can do that with stress. With phone you type while sleeping but you can't do that with desktop
