You would either call them very rich, or just an early investor/miner. If they bought that amount of bitcoin, they are probably a millionaire.

Someone with a million dollars, euros, pounds or pesos is a millionaire. No one (Okay maybe Satoshi) has a million Bitcoins and probably never will.

So what's someone with BTC1000 called? A thousandaire? There's got to be a better name. 'Bitcoin Whale' is just so meaningless and some people don't consider BTC1000 a whale anyways.

What should we call a Bitcoin thousandaire?
I think bitcoinaire would be good term for anyone who has 1 million dollar worth of bitcoin. But unlike a person with millions dollar,a person with that much bitcoins would hardly accept that in public so whatever you call him doesn't matter

I think we should call him the luckiest person on the earth to hold that high volume of bitcoins, but practically I don't think any one of us would be holding that big amount in future.

I love the Bitcoin thousandaire. However, I think that bit-thousandaire is more appropriated and more beautiful.

I would call them clever, rich or just plain lucky depending on how they amassed that amount of bitcoin.

I'll call him the millionaire, it is a lot of money, because if someone has 1000BTC, he was able to say a millionaire, I hope one day I had more money than it  Grin

i think 100,000 would be enough to designate someone a bitcoin baron.

10k or 1,000 is something you could acquire pretty easily with some fiat and/or a gov auction.

calling someone a whale that holds many coins but does not trade seems like a misnomer to me.

Another useless thread. Doesn't matter all the wannabe suggestions ,they're not going to get implemented anyway.I would simply call him a bitcoin enthusiast if he has 1000 bitcoins. In simply terms ,just a millionaire ,nothing special about it.

i think the special thing about it is to see there are still individuals that believe in bitcoin enough to invest  430,000 USD give or take in bitcoin.

Anyone above 1000 Bitcoins should be a old timer or rich people and we should call them Whales... not anything else. In some third world countries with poor currencies these guys are multi millionaires

and they fall under the top rich people in their countries. In a first world country, this will hardly get noticed and most people in the average income have assets like a small house valued at that price.

In Londen you could possibly afford a 1 bedroom flat for that much money.  Roll Eyes

i find bitcoin whale to be a very easy term and a lot people use it to mark a wealthy trader. but if i have to come up with another name for some one with at least 1000 bitcoins, then it would be 'bit elite' or 'elite holder'. elite must definitely be in the name if you ask me.

Cheesy Thanks for the laugh. Unfortunately it might be the truth in many cases.

I think anyone that was around during the particularly tumultuous times in 2011/2012 would laugh in agreement at that "scammer" term. Cheesy

IMO, we should call a guy with more than 1000BTC a Bitillionaire, but what should we call a guy who has more than a million bitcoins?

Satoshi. He's the only one who even comes close to that, and there just isn't any single individual who could possibly own that much anymore. Not even Ver or the twins.

That's a good question. And I'm sure that we will need some kind of nomenclature for the people who has those kinds of bitcoin ammounts.

see the current price, it didn't seem too rich.
but if told to call him, I will call the 'BTC Master'.  Grin

Yeah, not the richest at a moment, but still the best amount to hold for the future, as if the price skyrockets in future then he could be called as a super rich guy.
He will be the BTC King. But I think that cant happen. It is so much money and not every rich person has Bitcoin.
He will be very rich if the value is rising than it is very good. And that will be also very nice for us.
