Crypto is currently very difficult to get big profits because the market is in a bad situation.
fluctuations in the value of coins have become a common experience in the market so it is natural, and not like what later because no one can predict it.
Crypto can still be profitable even though it's a little but not like 2017.

I had about 3000 of a particular altcoin which was $40 in value around December, 2018 and i decided to hodl with the aim that its value will increase. As it stands now, the value is $9 indicating -77.5% reduction...

I think it occurrences have a bright future and the present project existing in the crypto world have not scratched the surface of the enormous potential that this blockchain technology currently inhibits, so there is no reason to lose hope and there is no reason to be pessimistic about the future of cryptocurrency.
however there is every reason to be smart as regard investment and staying safe.

Yes, i am still holding some altcoins and time will tell if i get profit from it or not. Either way, i still have a good feeling about crypto. Even if i myself might not get rich with it. But i see crypto as part of our future and glad that i can experience all this here.

As we look the market too positive and not even crypto have been legalize but somehow many big companies accepting it by now which is good enough to prove that crypto have its future. For those people whoa have a lot of money in their wallet, why not to lost this opportunity, maybe you are string enough to risk some of it in crypto and you'll definitely that crypto is a good investment.

if in my opinion, crypto is a digital payment technology that will be used in the future and has almost the same function as currency, so I'm sure crypto will become legal in the future and make the price will increase very high, so investing in crypto for now will get a big profit in the future.

in the world, any cryptocurrency can occur unexpectedly. therefore I still believe that someday the price of coins that I still hold will be of high value and I still entrust my funds to BTC. because in my opinion BTC has great potential to grow taller and I chose BTC because the coin is the other driver of the coin so that whatever happens the price of all coins will be started by BTC first.

I am still holding my ETH,BTC and TRX coz i have faith in these coins. Though i already lose money because of the price fal down, i am still positive that one day they will make me a millionaire! I am not looking for 1000x thought lol x10 or x20 would be great for me.

I think the crypto is now slowly moving its market and its price has risen and someday the crypto goes back to a good place, and until now I'm still waiting for the rise of the crypto market. and hopefully back in a normal situation

x1000 is difficult to make and indeed it was difficult to do , I think this percentage can only be done in know little about coins , but impossible to do in eth xrp , they have increased dramatically and we can hope for X50 high in the top coins

This is still true. I just got into a realization that a bear market are much longer than bull market in the crypto space. In the stock market, there are months that are bearish and months that are bullish but in this market, bull runs are very short after a long years of bear period.That 1000x will surely happen in 2020 or 2021.

I think the downfall of the prices of crypto in the market is the people that are using crypto or investing in crypto has a huge population by now. If the prices are high, majority of the investors and traders would sell and the problem is all would gain profit, that's why there should be a fluctuation of prices.

i still think holding not only one altcoin will be a good idea, i suggest you should buy many altcoins like ETH or XRP or EOS, they are top altcoins have the highest chance to become the leading altcoins in the future as long as we keep believing and holding to our coins for long time.

holding more than one might be good, but too much can make you lose focus. so my advice is better choose coins y
only best.
and I think the crypt is good now, maybe sooner or later we can see a bull run.
