Personally I look out for if the coin has any real world use case and if it has a working product. Also I make sure to research the dev team as thats one of the most important factors in what direction a coin goes. If any of these three points are missing I avoid investing in that coin.
Well, many things affect my desire to do that. Mainly it is the ambitions of supporting promising projects and basicly gaining profits and being part of their success.

If a project makes good on these two factors then they are golden, you can be sure that a coin that has the best of both of these things will end up doing very well in that market. Those are the kind of altcoins I invest my money in.

I only want to invest on altcoins that altcoins that are trustworthy and not scams. Many altcoins now are scams and not trustworthy. People have bad image seeinf of these coins. I want to invest in these coins since it has good prospect and it is a raw idea.
As usual, this is an easy profit, we do this because they give a lot of bonuses for early registration in new projects)))
The first thing I look up is idea. If project has perfect idea it can success and beat othe hundreds of cryptos. Second important thing is motivated team and their actions in past half year(if we talk about coins that already are on market). And then I read WP and check github. That's enough to make a decision for me
Project and Team mostly, but lets not forget that alt coins can jump 500% percent over a week which big coins like Eth and Bitcoin can't do anymore. But i also trust on scidex. it is also very reliable coin from my point of view.
If that would be the case then I'm hoping to have it soon. 300% per week is very interesting. It always give different percentages per week but as been proven if altcoin reaches higher than Eth amd btc then its time to have these three the soonest to balance the equation.
I am not into any altcoin, just ethereum for now. I only invest in coins that are known and used more often because for sure it wouldn't have so many problems except for the natural fall of the cryptocurrency market. Unlike new coins that seemed to be almost uncertain at times, most especially when they would be more volatile after a sudden rise probably due to a pump up. After that when the hype is gone many will have trouble about price that is lower than the ICO price. It becomes a loss to the investors.

I'm not inclined to invest in risky coins because I do not believe in getting a quick profit, the exception is the advice of acquaintances to invest in some alts.
