There may be fewer people using Bitcoin, and some people may go to other places for mining.
The price of Bitcoin will also be affected. Some people will sell their coins due to market panic, which may cause some companies to ban the use of Bitcoin, and the utilization rate of Bitcoin will decrease.
But it won't kill Bitcoin。

Drastic steps can be expected as long as people like Janet Yellen remains in power. And in any case Joe Biden steps down and Kamala Harris becomes the president, then I am afraid that you will see CCP-style economic policies in the United States. But how effective can be a ban in the United States? There are tens of millions of users in the US, and even if we assume that 90% of them comply with the government order, it leaves out millions of others. So is the government going to jail all of them? They will do what they are now doing with torrent downloading. A few "masterminds" will be arrested, to scare the rest.

Some time ago there was bad news for crypto currencies coming from the United States (US).  The US Treasury announced it would take steps to crack down on Bitcoin cs market and transactions.  the reason is that Crypto already poses significant detection problems by facilitating widespread illegal activities including tax evasion.  My assumption is that if cryptocurrencies continue to be used for crime, there will be a significant decline in the future.

This would surely be a bad news for the whole crypto market because the US has one of the largest users of cryptocurrency. The early sign is that the market would bleed first as people would try to rem9be their investment from the market.

the US is a very important country in the world, if the US ever banned bitcoin (something I don't think the US would do because they are a democratic country that loves technology and if they wanted to ban bitcoin they would have done it a long time ago) the price of bitcoin would drop a lot and it would be a big disaster, that's because other countries would follow the example of the US and would also start banning bitcoin in their countries. luckily it won't happen

but if they ban it, it could see another crash of crypto industry and china may take the major control of crypto mining then.

china doesn't care about cryptocurrencies, they are firm and decisive on this matter, miners in china won't have another chance to turn everything back like in the past because the chinese government doesn't want cryptocurrencies in their country and they are not the democratic type of government and that the changes his mind due to popular pressure

Why should tbey ban crypto-currencies when they can control the whole world economy though it. they also have rules and laws, thus they controlling criminal activities on crypto-currencies from their country even probably they are going to start taxion on crypto assests. but if they ban it, it could see another crash of crypto industry and china may take the major control of crypto mining then.

It is very likely that the US will not be able to ban cryptocurrencies because there are many investors from America who invest in bitcoin so that it can damage their economic growth as well and also many of their officials, almost 60% of them jump into bounties or invest in BTC, and even if America does the prohibition of cryptocurrencies then it is legal by the government but there must be a drastic decline in the price of the cryptocurrency market

Technically any country decide to ban cryptocurrencies but the decentralized nature of cryptos mean that even with bans people can still transact and use cryptocurrencies. Nigeria for example banned cryptocurrencies late last year but even cryptocurrencies transactions grew a lot more since then and people been using more of their P2P method

I don't think the cryptocurrency will band in the USA but the USA would like to keep the cryptocurrency market tied to a strict rule.

The United States cannot ban bitcoin and crypto, but only enacts amendments to new legal regulations.  The US is also the country with the most bitcoin ATMs, they will not go to a dead end.  Recently, the CEO of Coinbase said that the change to tax regulations in crypto is meaningless.  Lol, Coincidentally or not when I read this news, bitcoin has gone strong again.

yes interesting if they banned cryptocurrency, they have started to destroy it, because we know that almost most of them have cryptocurrency in their wallet account there will be a world of peace that makes the wheel of life spin  Roll Eyes

That's an accusation, no one knows if they owned cryptocurrency or not, but if they decide based on biased decision making, I think that is not good as it's not good for everyone. US are open with crypto AFAIK, in fact, they regulated crypto and there's plenty of bitcoin ATM machines in their country, so I don't see any reason why they will ban crypto in the future, unless they cannot monitor or regulate it effectively anymore.

Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

I don't think it will be much of a problem with the prohibition of crypto by the United States, some time ago there were also many countries that banned the circulation of digital currencies such as China, but it didn't cause a significant problem in my opinion. Digital currency will be increasingly in demand by many entrepreneurs and rich people in this world so that digital currency will grow better
There will be more problems than you think when the US is considered as a great place to live with high paying jobs as well as quite attractive benefits, the reduction of crypto workforce here will reflect the perception of the US as well as reduce the number of investors, China has also kicked out all crypto and mining factories in their country, the US is the destination but if they continue to be rejected, not having a stable place to live will be a huge loss to the strength of crypto when the role of miners is quite large

The fact that banks are accepting cryptocurrency doesn't guarantee that the government will not ban them. If the government prohibits the banks from dealing in Bitcoin or any other crypto, then they are supposed to follow that order. They can file an appeal against the government measures, but for the time being they need to obey the directive. IMO, the chances that cryptocurrency trading will be banned in the United States is next to nil. But the government can make the lives of cryptocurrency traders miserable, by increasing the taxes and imposing new regulations.

That's certainly true, mate. Banks accepting crypto isn't a guarantee the US government will not ban them. They can easily revert their stance towards crypto at will. The government will justify its actions by saying that crypto is solely used for money laundering and tax evasion. But we all know, that's not the truth these days. The number of people doing illicit activities on crypto is very low compared to Fiat. My guess is that privacy coins like Monero and Grin will be the first ones to go, as the US government will pressure every centralized exchange to de-list them. Only transparent cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum will survive in the long run. While it's unlikely the USA will ban the whole crypto/Blockchain industry, anything can happen in the future. We should be prepared for the worse, in case the market goes all the way down the drain because of a full crypto ban from the American government. Just my thoughts Grin

If it does happen, it will definitely have an impact on the world of cryptocurrencies. and it is not impossible that it will happen and many parties will suffer losses in large numbers.
If I'm not mistaken, China has banned crypto miners.
yes, China did. it makes crypto miners in China have to clean up all their devices.
and if it happened to the US, of course, the impact would be even greater.
but looking at the news that we have seen these days, there are many positive ones. I'm sure countries like the US understand how to handle crypto instead of imposing a ban.

If you look at the news, it's much different if we search on the internet, there are many who support it. As I recall Michael Saylor is an American citizen too and Elon owns a company in America and another important point is that the crypto world is dominantly dominated by its own citizens. so in my view, the percentage might be very small if that happens.

Do you see any reasons for the US to ban crypto? Personally I don’t think that it is possible. More and more US banks begin offering crypto services. For example, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley etc. And one of the most authoritative bank, Bank of America, has even formed a cryptocurrency research team in an attempt to profit on the growing interest in the digital asset market and has approved Bitcoin Futures Trading recently.

The fact that banks are accepting cryptocurrency doesn't guarantee that the government will not ban them. If the government prohibits the banks from dealing in Bitcoin or any other crypto, then they are supposed to follow that order.
