3.Try to make a post on the forum and also see the crowd sentiment;
4.See some data on coinmarketcap.com , : https://icodrops.com/ , https://icorating.com/
5.Watch this tool from investing.com - find here the explination: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.29503403
**LATER EDIT:
6. Team - research moust of the members on linkedin and google , also the backers or advisors.

Doing this can be of help to get a sense of a really good buy... at least this is what  I do.

What are your thoughts ? How do you do it??

Cheers!

Nice advise but what can help me more easier is the ICO ratings of a certain altcoins. Where I don't need weeks doing research and days are enough. We don't need a lot of time just to buy altcoins, I think, 3 - 4 days are enough for us to make research. But all in all, you got a great advise.

There are lots of things you need to do and to know first before buying an Altcoin. First you need to be experienced enough and I recommend reading and joining bounty campaigns first so you will not have regret and at the same time you will learn. Once you're ready, it is best to read the white paper and check the videos they play so you can check their products and their market. Joining their telegram will be helpful as well so you can ask questions if you will have.

I do some things before buying an alt coins. First, i research about this coin if it is legit because there's too many coins now and it is difficult to determine if this coin is original. So research in the google or just do posting in this bitcointalk.org and make survey . I am sure thaat the others know the kind of coin because their life is in here.

I read white paper, i made some research of the company, people behind the project and I ask myself several times if I will really engage myself in the world of  cryptocurrency then I tried and trust one project.Until now I'm doing it.

Before buying an altcoin you need to research first about the background and stability of it. In the cryptocurrency world there are a lot of coins that exist with different function. The competition is tight and it's up to the buyer how meticulous he/she is. And I do agree that you need to read more about the coins that might interest you. Join a forum cause it will help you a lot too. Experts are willing to answer and help you.

of course, analyze first because if it is just indiscriminate buying will not fully get results. many considerations that must be made, therefore before the start of trading essentially the coin must know in advance.

As a newbie I need to be more knowlegable about buying altcoin, more sereach, and some ideas also from other member before buying altcoin.

As a newbie you must check if the altcoin is legal, you must assure that you'de safe when it comes of buying and investing a money.

Yes, that's right. The only thing I would cross out the second point. Well, personally, I did not, and yet is not going to. I think he's unnecessary.

That is just a method as good as any other, but at the end of the day you are trusting the information available on the internet including the one that other members give you about the coin.

Your tips and guidelines are very helpful not just for beginners but most of us here. We can't deny the fact that we made some mistakes in the past by investing  without investigating or searching about the project and its team. This information will definitely help us to choose the best and legit coins to invest.

I totally agree with them, research and read about the altcoin  before you buy or invest in it. Find facts and see if it is realistic. Read the whitepaper, it is important. Find out what the coin is trying to solve and how will to accomplish it. What the developers plan in order to accomplish it? Is it attainable or not? Try to look at the roadmap as well. What are their goals and have they met this? Is the roadmap updated? Check also the team members if they really exist. Join forums and telegram to know the sentiments of others regarding the project. And remember, never invest what you can't afford to loose.

i think before we decide to buy any altcoin we must do research carefully about the coin on coinmarketcap, on its website to know will the coin have a good roadmap or not, is the community more active and what exchanges are accepting that altcoin, finally wait for a good time to buy that altcoin such as when the entire market drop rapidly.

Actually in my own experience ,when before first i buying those altcoins in the market ,i must observe if those altcoins is become profitable, and there is a chance to become a highest value in the market or maybe theres no chances,so by tracing this  things in coin market base or searching in different kind of website about the characteristic of this altcoin, therefore i can recognize that this coin is become usable and profitable.

Before you trade or buy some altcoins you have to be sure that you know the basics of trading like how to use technical analysis and fundamental analysis. Technical analysis really helps a lot because you will know to read the chart if it's downtrend or uptrend. Goodluck.

Good tips! But I wonder you don't try to read about the use case of the coin. I know reading whitepaper can be overwhelming and boring but you should definitely do some research about the project.

I'd like to make a supplement. Don't buy hight. It means you need to buy at the moment everyone around is writing and asking: Is that the end? will there ever be a growth? What to do? Market is red! Crypto dies. This is the moment it's necessary to buy
