As a founder/CEO in the midst of a token sale, I have become increasingly aware of what's both good and bad about many of the other token sales in the very crowded market.

Here are some of the common themes that have come up in my conversations with prospective buyers and reviewers from our Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/thestayawhile/:

1) A working prototype would be great.
2) Convincing a real person with some standing in the crypto community to vouch for you is another way to build trust.
3) The less trust that I have to put my trust into your team the better. The more you can show me that you your team has put their social capital/reputation on the line the better. (The scam ICO's that keep their team secret are the opposite of this.)
4) You make people comfortable and imply that you would be easy to find if something went wrong. That is why projects with very public leaders tend to have more trust than projects that obfuscate their identity in any way.
5) Explaining in plain terms why you would need your own coin.

- Good team behind
- Good whitepaper and concept
- Some working prototype if they have
- Active communication via slack or telegram, they should be able to answer every doubt investor will have.
- ICO with low hard cap and short time.
- ICO without any pre-ICO

Anyway don't invest everything in one ICO, never more then 10% of your deposit in one even if you think it will be 100% super. Remember it. And take look at finshi capital one more time. It's a last day of ICO. May be 5% put in it.

What are some characteristics of a good ICO?
Looking for good ICO in recent time is not an easy task, as many new project or ICO are now turning to be scammer. Not withstanding, #jibrelnetwork is a good ICO which I can recommend for you to invest your money. For more about #jibrelnetwork check my current signature and read their white paper.

I think that there is always a risk when choosing ICO. But, I can also make my comeback, which I advertise. Himself put there. Serious publishing house, pay attention to white paper.

Be careful with any kind of ICO.
I would stay away from them, unless you have some inside tips.
Or, if you have done this before.
Basically, almost all of them are not what they seem.
Better invest (what you can afford to loose) in something valuable, and HODL.
Don't check the price daily, it's useless. You have ups and downs.
Good luck.

Take a look at one in my signature. Didn't know why there are so few info about it in English speaking tread. FinShi Capital is venture fund formed on blockchain technology. They already got 13 millions$ at ICO. FinShi Capital is currently reviewing more than 30 rapidly growing fintech projects, any of which might be invested in after ICO. Then the startups will grow exponentially, and after some time they will be sold to further investors and strategic buyers. And all token holders will get most of profit

There are some good ones.. like ARtoken.. AR token is made by Cappasity.. And it's a great, California-based company established more than 3 years ago that has attracted $1.8M from VCs and angels... I think it already means a lot...
