Well, after doing some researchs, I would like to list some factors of a good ICO project.
1. Vision/Innovation of the project to solve economic problems.
2. Why they need base on blockchain technology?
3. Experience of Founders and team.
4. Competitive projects.

Really liking the look of Crowdholding.

Solid white paper, great strong team, actually have a product behind them (99% of ICO's don't) and constantly improving in everything (from marketing, to events etc), all their numbers add up, strong social media, great concept and marketing and content creation.

They launch tomorrow, these guys will fly!

Lately is better to wait for coins to go on exchange and then buy it since they loose value fast after ICO, but to be honest it looks like crypto economy is healing and we could see ICOs with huge investments and profits again.

It's really difficult today to find some interesting and promising ICO for investment. There are so many "empty" projects, which have only idea. But some are real and can bring a good profit. I prefer to invest in projects, which have some the finished products or the development.

Well, that way you should be careful choosing ICO to invest, if you want to invest with ICO you should look into the site, then check all project team profiles, if all teams use linkedin and in their profile there is a picture of their project. , I am sure they are very serious about making the project.

- Good team behind
- Good whitepaper and concept
- Some working prototype if they have
- Active communication via slack or telegram, they should be able to answer every doubt investor will have.
- ICO with low hard cap and short time.
- ICO without any pre-ICO

Why pre-ICO is bad ?

I think the key thing about pre-ICO is the discount. Some of the ICO can give very huge discount for pre-ICO or private sale. This can cause the later investors to suffer. One popular example is give 250% bonus, so for the same price, the earlier investors can get like 3x more tokens so even if they sell at half the price, they still profit.

1) good use of blockchain tech as a solution to a problem previously unsolvable without blockchain
2) good use of tokens after ICO. otherwise, why even issue tokens...
3) good white paper. not BS copied and pasted from sources they don't appear to understand. includes understanding of their market and how they will achieve they technical goals
4) tangible demo. if they can't show you anything, it's an awful big leap of faith
5) any kind of 3rd party recognition is nice. news articles, "best of" lists, even legal representation (law firms won't counsel companies they expect to fail as it looks bad for them) especially in countries where the law poses a major problem- essentially a backing law firm says "we think these guys don't have fatal legal problems"
6) where are they from? I like the US since that is where most major tech companies are from, I wouldn't suddenly expect that to change just because of the blockchain. I hate to profile, but the sketchier the country their based in, the less I feel I can trust them.

There are many characteristic of good ICO. But to check almost all of them you need to spend a lot of time and have patience. The most important thing is to be sure that ICO is not scam. To be honest you never can e sure in 100%, because sometimes ppl spend millions dollars to achieve more. And their ico looks good enough to investors.
1. Looks at the team, each members play role. Discover their background, education, professional skills. Members should have prefect reputations.
2. White paper - the main document of ICO. There you should find all details about development and implementing stage of project, description of idea and all ways to use product, amount of money step by step.
3. Web-site, social support in all resources that you can find.
4. Good but not necessary to have a demo version of your product.
5. Bounty campaign and promo activities should take not more than 10% of all tokens, in my own opinion
6. Road map with understandable and real stages.

Due to this reasons i choose Confideal. There ICO will start in 2 days. Please take a look - https://confideal.io/

So reasonable,
Take a look to this article - https://medium.com/@confideal/why-will-confideal-ico-be-successful-ad293f09d7e1

Watch reviews, look at the team (country), ask the questions through the communication channels, see how active the company is (e.g. if it takes part in sponsorships or not).
In the long perspective assess the tempo of the token sale and reaching of capitalization

The success scale of an ico can be measured with invested amount. If project cant collect enough amount this is because of wrong coordinated marketing or advertising methods. But there are some examples about failed projects which increased a lot during ico.
