Only invest what you can afford to loose.

I tell people you can start with as little as $5. There are several ways to purchase cryptocurrency at minimum values. The biggest thing is only investing what you can afford to loose. Most people getting into the scene are not doing this even though it's stated endlessly. I would suggest finding a project you really believe in and invest what you can afford to loose and continue to do that over a period of a year. You can't go wrong with getting into Bitcoin, Ethereum or NEO.

If you believe in the technology (blockchain) and invest in the protocols (Bitcoin, Ethereum, NEO) and promote and support the tokens you will succeed in this industry.

I personally started with $500 as that is what I was comfortable with losing. I put in more capital every week and have been doing that for the last year. I also invest capital at certain points in the market that I repay at certain bench marks.

That's right. Investment, especially in this market is such a risky business that always think of investments as a 50-50 loss or gain scenario. I am not discouraging you, but that is really the case right now, especially since the market is not doing good. Most people now are just being patient and are only holding onto their coins instead of trying to do business when all that is waiting for them is a loss. To add, in this market, the bigger the investment, the better margin of profit you might also get; however, just also be ready with the scenario that your investment might not turn out to be highly profitable.

In accordance with the basic principles I learned in the Forex market, a good investor with the intention of making the trading a profitable business, should not start with a capital of less than $100,000, but from practical experience I learned that even with a capital of $1,000, a talented trader can do good things, but not enough to make a living from trading, but as an extra income.

In the case of crpytos, an investment of $10,000 might seem ideal to start.

I think that this amount starts at $ 1,000. And the higher the better. If you invest $ 100 and make x10, then you will not even feel profit. Another thing is if you invest 5,000 dollars and made x10.

What is a good amount to start with when investing into crypto?

I see lots of posts about “I have $100 / $200, what should I buy” and most of the time the answers are with that amount just invest in an ICO etc etc.

I would be interested to know what people here consider a good starting amount to invest...and I know the basics of not investing more than you can afford to loose but for arguements sake, what’s a good number to start with?

I’m not so much interested from a whale perspective of investing like $500k or $1mill, more so the normal everyday average joe male/female investor who wants to dabble in the crypto market. Would it be $1k, $2k, $5k, $10k, $20k etc? People new to the game or interested to start investing in this space may find this useful so they know a rough number which would be a good starting point before turning  that into riches (the obvious dream).

For reference I initially started with about $3k (it’s not loads but it was a start) and over time I’ve added more and more (it gets addicting) into the pot as and when I have the money to spend and when the time seems good to buy.

First of all invest your sleeping money into Crypto World. You can take start from $1k,using your skills you can multiple your investment. At present market is still under dip, good time to buy following coin in ratio as.

1.60% into BTC
2.25% into ETH
3.15% into NEO,ADA,XPR,IOTA.
If you are skillful trader you can also engage in day trading otherwise you can hold your investment as well.In this way reinvest your profit into BTC,ETH you can multiple your investment and get higher return.

You can invest any amount as long as it is the money that you can afford to lose, since market is not stable we can't foresee what will happen in the future. It is also the amount other than your emergency fund, because it cannot be withdrawn anytime when you need it.

As for me any amount is suitable for investment. There can not be common standards, because each person has a different level of wealth. I think that you can start with 100 dollars. This amount is not so pity to lose. But thanks to investment, you will get experience and will be able to work with large sums.

There are just three key points investing into crypto:
1-Invest only into the stuff you understand
2-Remember that you don't understand most of the stuff even if you think you do
3-Diversify

It is up to you my friend, investing is risky too but worth it if you earn. For me, when you start investment you should have a funds for it or budget you do not have to invest a big amount and all your money invest in affordable money only, try a $25 or $50 if you want. Good luck

This is the amount that will allow you to feel free in the market and not choose between investing in shitkoins or any small coins. But on the other hand, it is these coins that can show significant growth, unlike the top coins.

I started with $10 because that's the amount I can only afford at that time, I dont have work yet and just follow my friend's advice to try out investing in cryptos. Honestly investing with just a small amount is not worth it because you cant gain good profit. For me ideally the good amount to start investing is $200 and above, so you can buy different coins and not just btc, its profitable to have more coins in your portfolio but dont expect too much because investing is risky.

As many have stated before me, there is only one rule on how much to invest:
Only invest the amount you can afford to lose.

I guess it cannot be overstated. Try remembering dot-com bubble. Same thing here. Most of the coins we see today will not exist in a couple of years. Only few will remain. Chances of losing your investment are high. If you can handle losing $10, then that's your ideal amount to invest. If you earn $100K a week, I guess $100K is a great starting point.

Most of the ICOs have this minimum of $100 for investing on their coin so in this case look for a best or have a better potential to succeed in the near future with a price that is also promising. Like this ICO which is called Streamity, you can invest with this coin while it has a privileges for those who wants to invest with them like a bonus coins for a minimum purchase.

if it is true to invest in a good ico, it will return 10x of capital.

In my opinion the best amount to invest is one that will not affect your financial condition. If it happens to lose your investment, it should not negatively affect you or
generally speaking, invest as much as you can lose.  Smiley

Why everyone always says something about loses Smiley
Investing is associated with risks of course, but risk is not total loss, it can be deposit decreasing but not at all.
I think best decision is to invest free money - so if you got in difficult situation you will be able to wait for situation to get better. That helps to keep patience

Actually there is no good amount needed for you to invest in an ICO. It will depend on your capability on how much money you can afford to invest. This is in line with the savings you could make or extra money in your pocket because you could not also make use in your money that is already intended for the other costings in daily life expenses. However, if you wish to be successful in your investment you should have invested in the right and good ICO project. You must consider the concept of the project, the team behind the project and how they work in the ICO. Another way is to buy an alt coin during ICO period and get discounts. And you can also sell it right away after the ICO period in that way you can earn through the discounts you get during the ICO period.

I think to start investing on crypto is on depending on our funds. Its much better to using our idle money to investing on crypto and not using borrowing money. Using idle money can make us more relax and enjoy and price have high volatile
