I would like to think that this fast movement is due to the great advantages of blockchain technology, but I honestly believe that the current volatility of bitcoin is mainly due to the great speculation that exists around the market.

It's undeniable how bitcoin's market price made a very historic run last year when it hits 20,000$ and that's because of its volatility in market price because the demand of bitcoin is getting high over the course of time. And i believe that this year, bitcoin will once again set another new price high.

Because the investors flow, you have people who are buying because somebody told them it was a good investment, you have others who are buying because they believe its a good investment, you have people changing thousands of other cryptos into BTC, etc... With the huge population who uses bitcoin and the facility they can move their money comes a very big volatility. nonetheless this last week and a half it remained very stable compared to the previous ups and downs

This increases its demand and supply being limited make its price rise like anything. Market cap of BTC has been doubled from Sep till now and so is its price. Hope to see BTC rise more in 2018 if lightning network comes into the picture, Coz then people will adopt it as a payment mode also and will use it more often for day to day transaction.

I think it is probably because of it's popularity which is increasing and a lot of people are investing more in bitcoin which pushes it's value to increase more and more. The fact that the people earns in investment on bitcoin and use the money they earn to buy more circulates and centers to bitcoin itself that is why the value keeps growing and growing. Therefore, we should keep on doing what we are doing for bitcoin to be more successful.

Yes it is, i agree that because of its popularity through social media makes bitcoin moves so fast and millions of people having to buy bitcoin and not so many who are selling, and i think the more the demand of bitcoin makes its value goes high.

It is because of the people who are really earning. Many people are patronizing it because of those who earn. It is serving as a testimony for them to pursue bitcoin.

The only reason i know for this fast moving price increase of btc is that the demand increases but since we have a very limited supply of btc, the tendency will be the price increase.
