Not sure but I feel that it is likely to be a minimal proportion because not everyone in the world tends to make use of Bitcoin. They need to have to entice much more people if they want to turn out to be some thing even bigger in the long term.

Surely this is a hope for all users will the development of bitcoin that continues to increase in the future so that it brings a good impact to the economic changes of its users spread across the country.
Indeed, with the growing number of new investors involved in investing in bitcoin certainly brings a positive signal for bitcoin advancement.

I voted for 2-5% of people on earth will own bitcoin by 2020, As we all know, actually that bitcoin are start to be more popular mostly this year, because of the high augmentation of bitcoin price , from around 1100$ to ~4950$ which it's a very big increase of price, it never happend in the past.
So, by 2020, i think all the world will have access to the internet, and the technolgy will be more powerfull, so also bitcoin too. I think many people will enroll this community, so my prediction is what i voted.
I have the same opinion regarding the number of people knowing about bitcoins in the coming years. Bitcoins have attracted investors this year tremendously because of massive increase in their values. Bitcoins are never ever going to lose their values from now onwards which will ultimately result in the bright future of bitcoiners.

I think that less than 5% of the people on earth will own bitcoin. As you can see, there are still many places which do not have a good condition to learn and obtain more knowledge about bitcoin. Furthermore, they do not own good technology to adapt the cryptocurrency

Not even everyone in central europe got full internet acess by now, so I can't believe by 2020 - which is just 2 1/2 years from now - the complete world population will have internet acess, and that's probably one of the biggest "problems", when talking about owning bitcoins or not. But that's just my ten cents  Tongue

Given, that only rougly 50% of the world population got access to internet (2017), I don't think more than 10-20% will hold Bitcoin in 2020.

I think 60 percent of people own bitcoin by 2020, many people already investing in bitcoin. Because many people use internet and own computer so that people started invest and convince to use bitcoin.

I agree that we might see exponential growth in the user base within next 3 years but still, 60% of world's population is a too much extreme prediction. A person using a computer might not use Bitcoin for some reasons so the number of computer/internet users should not be the main criteria to determine the prediction of Bitcoin's growth. I doubt if we really have 60% of the world's population using the internet.

Yeah i think so too. It needs to be a little bit more conservative because 2020 is just 3 years from now. I don't even think a quarter of the population would have owned btc then. The rate of btc usage is consistently rising but i don't think 3 years is long enough to see everyone owning btc

I agree with that. It isn't that far away and the growth rate of new users isn't that significant too. By 2020, I don't think it will even double what we have now. I think it would be safe to say that it will still not be significant enough to be a force to be reckoned with that would force all governments around the world to do something about it.

100% growth in the user base is not a difficult growth rate to achieve when there is a time of 3 years but we need to put concentrated efforts in a positive direction on the community as well as on the individual level. Currently, we don't have any negative atmosphere about Bitcoin in the world (ignore those scam companies which are using Bitcoin to execute their scam as it has nothing to do with Bitcoin). In fact, media attention and expert's views are building good perception about Bitcoin so if we can somehow reach to the mass digital fiat users then we will easily cross 100% growth in next 3 years.

if you look at this year .. bitcoin prices continue to rise. it's because bitcoin is getting popular., many people who know the advantages of having bitcoin. so they prefer to invest bitcoin from others. I can not think of bitcoin by 2020 .. it might be that year people have been using bitcoin as a legal means of payment. 40% of the world's countries will legalize bitcoin. because they think bitcoin is beneficial to them. it could happen because if you see today, bitcoin users are getting more and more day.

Exactly, 60% in just 3 years might really be high for the entire humans. Again, there are some continent that have very very few people who have heard of bitcoin & this number will still add up to the entire number or percentage which will make the 60% a far cry as you have alluded to. Moreso , I like your analogy with computer usage not being measured as numbers who know how to go about btc or have heard of it. Thus, the number of people using computers or internet platforms would not automatic mean they know of bitcoin too.

By 2020 at list 40 to 50 percent of world population should own bitcoin and even use it. Many young men and girl has access to internet and bitcion is making great Wave all over the world and people becomes knowledgeable about bitcoin and others cryptocurrency.
Suppose for a moment that 3 billion people make 1 transaction, and suppose the average transaction is 300 bytes small.
The result is that blockchain grows 900GB, 6 times bigger than it is now.
At 1MB blocks this takes 18 years.

Before you think many people can use Bitcoin in 2020, calculate how few transactions blockchain can store.

Maybe 80 percent the way bitcoin is moving
before posting you should read your senior post above, if 20% human beings on earth using Bitcoin then the price is definitely above 10,000 $, 50% still too high.
Indeed! 80% is a big number. Hardly 5% of the world population is aware of bitcoins at present. 20% is also a very large number of world populations. Bitcoins are increasing day by day in price and at the same pace, their users are also increasing. Still they need to go hard way to attract that much users. So I am sure after 2020 when the people of the world are economic strongly then 50% or above people are adapt it.
It is very to comment on it by now. But one thing is for sure that number of investors will be much more than one can even think of. The way Bitcoin gained popularity in first 7 years, I think future of Bitcoin and investors in very much bright.

With current situation bitcoin is hardly known to all the people on earth. The number might be near to 1 percent of whole population or less. This can be known from the number of wallets and users they are having. Im just speculating the scenario but according to blockchain info there are more than 16 million wallets. If we consider thousands of user per wallet theb also it doesnt reach 1 percent of population. This data is really imaginative but we can have sense from this data that bitcoin is still not reached to everyone.

There are many factors such most of the countries are in developing stage and they lack the advance infrastructure such as internet services, information technology and even hardwares. People dont have knowledge about banking system so i believe they are unware of bitcoin thing for sure.

So coming ro your question i hardly think there will 2 to 3 percent people will get into bitcoin.
i agree with you sir 2 to 3 percent get into the bitcoin because the reason a very big population in the whole world are billion people, 3 years are not enough to explore the importance of bitcoin for the big popualation, to educate them all.

I have been surveying about bitcoin during 2010 until now the Chinese population has been using bitcoin and reaching almost 15% of the population has been using bitcoin as a person-to-person for payment tool, they say "bitcoin will be the currency in modern times as it is now and bitcoin prices From year to year will increase until mining runs out "

When you say 15% of China is using Bitcoin right now, I am sorry but that is impossible. If so many people (200 million+) were using Bitcoin the price would already be $10,000.

I think a fair estimate is 5-10% of people will own Bitcoin, because still 99% of people don't know about it. IF so many people don't know about it, it will take a long time for them to learn how to use them... 2020 is only 2.5 years away so this is not a long enough time, sorry. But hopefully someday 15% of China will use Bitcoin. Wink

The numbers are not impossible because of the price.
The numbers are right now physically impossible due to the blockchain.

We have close to 250 million transactions in the chain. It's impossible for 15% of China using bitcoin as it would mean more than 66% of the entire trasnactions would have been made by the Chinese , but only one transaction for each.

So if we had every of those 15% of China making TWO transactions we would by now have more than 50 millions transactions more in the chain.
And this excluding the rest of the world.

Yeah, the percentage who owns the bitcoin is still very low by 2020 because many people still do not trust bitcoin, they always think bitcoin is a scam, in their mind, making money online is not possible, online earning jobs are just wasting time and there is no proof of payment. Investing in a virtual currency is not a good idea, it is risky and dangerous and also because this thinking, I have many reasons to believe that the percentage of people who own bitcoin in 2020 is about 10 -15%. Bitcoin needs more time and more development to prove its potential and power to the economy of everyone in the world.
