My wish of course is bitcoin will become the new world currency, but the reality happened was now is that Dollar, Euro, and Bitcoin are very popular internationally and still Dollar is leading the race. Those currency  are being used electronically as payment. But what the good thing in bitcoin was the volatility and decentralization compare to Dollars and Europe.  Meaning there is a chance the bitcoin can be the new world currency in the future.
Even if the euro can not overtake the dollar, bitcoin can not do this. And the thing is that bitcoin will not have enough popularity. Many people will not be able to understand and take advantage of bitcoin for everyday life. For most of humanity this will be difficult. We ourselves know that bitcoin is not a simple matter.

These are not real "world currencies".

A real world currency would be a currency that isn't controlled by anyone, not even a world government.

A currency that is decentralised, accessed by anyone over the internet.

The new world currency in my opinion is obviously bitcoin or another cryptocurrency, i can't say which coin will be that for sure as there is increasing competition as well as division inside the bitcoin community

I have nothing against Bitcoin eventually becoming a new world currency

But I disagree that we shouldn't consider major currencies (like those pictured in your post) as global. Otherwise, the whole idea of a global currency loses its meaning and thus the term itself becomes meaningless and irrelevant. More specifically, we should judge something as a global currency not by the place of its issuance (or whether it is centralized or decentralized) but by how widespread it is, i.e. in how many countries it is accepted. And according to this metric, the US dollar cuts it pretty well as a global currency (and Bitcoin too, just for the record)
I agree, bitcoin can only be used as a new world currency if it proves to be speeded all around the globe and how much people are accepting it, in other words where ever you go around the world you should always be able to use bitcoin at any shop and at any hotel, the current value of bitcoin transaction compared to the us dollar is still really low and for that to change bitcoin has to become a major payment method.

For the time being, it's going to be the dollar.Bitcoin is a bit too niche to be the currency of the world. However, the future currency of the world will probably be an online one similar to bitcoin, because more and more people are just using cards and not physical dollars anyway.
I hope in next 5 years bitcoin can be new world currency, especially in my country.
US Dollar will remain the world currency until any other country manages to do so. This scenario is difficult to manifest in near future. USA will do all necessary thing to keep that power with them. Bitcoin has very low chance of winning the race here.

Exactly, especially bitcoin is not yet decades in the industry it takes more years to be currency and most especially to be an INTERNATIONAL one, we do not take away the possibility of being top of it but the capability of bitcoin is not enough to raise its own flag.
Bitcoin is still the youngest currency right now with low adoption and demand. But I don't think so about the international one because too many the homework for the bitcoin itself to passing every government securities.

being Bitcoin enthusiast, I am wishing that someday the new world currency will become the bitcoin. I know many of us here are expecting this things to be happen though in reality many people are not aware of this things so far all around the world.
Bitcoin has many problems which can not be solved either now or in the future. I like Bitcoin but I do not expect that it will become the world currency. I respect Bitcoin and what satoshi did to make the world better. However, there are still many potential coins out there which are based on Bitcoin and even better. Therefore, I think Ethereum or zcash will become the best

As much as I love to see Bitcoin as the new worlds'currency, i think it is quite impossible.  Bitcoin is not fit to be regulated, so that automatically turned off governments who wants to control everything.  As to be the world currency authority must acknowledged it.

The main problem of bitcoin is that governments of different countries will not accept it. They are afraid of this unmanageable currency.
I think that the dollar will remain the main currency for several decades

Of course its dollar, its on top of it.
We cannot deny the fact that dollar is being use all over the globe and more popular than what we have here the bitcoin. To be the next world currency, I guess non yet Smiley the fiat need to prove the power of it like what dollar is providing to each country.
For now it's dollar really, there are the biggest currency AFAIK, crypto currencies cannot even compete with some other legal currencies and the the value is not the only basis on how strong a currency is because if we do, it will be bitcoin that is going to be the strongest considering it's value now.
What makes a currency stable and strong is based on the number of users and we know dollar has a lot of users not only in it's own country but with some countries as well.

Sure, USD is strong right now. It'll collapse eventually.

I think this is only bitcoin Because you can think easily that most of the times the news for the payment is revolving in the world with Bitcoin and with some of another altcoins .
So here probably the bitcoin will be king of the more famouse currency to use at worldwide level as an international currency .
Here a small confusing thing is that the bitcoin is already get banned in 2-3 countries , Now here we can think that they can remove the ban and will support bitcoin or they will comes against it more Sad

Now the world currency is the US dollar. If I'm not mistaken, there have already been attempts to create a single world currency - bitcoin. But while it is still not so popular and predictable as the dollar.
US dollar will still dominate the world currency even their would be more attempts to try replacing it, as they already show the world how powerful they are and they really wanted to control in any aspect even the new President got a lots of criticism but still US will not allow any possible thing to happen to removes their dollar as the world well known currency.
But America can't stop people using Bitcoin in all of the other countries in the world, and they don't even seem to feel threatened by Bitcoin, having a reasonably lenient stance to it, so I don't think they would be directly hostile.
If bitcoin is really dangerous that could destroy the US's economy then there's still possibility that the US will force other countries to ban bitcoin. See what's happening to those countries with damn tonnes of oil which are now "touched" by the US? Everything is possible in this world. Not going to judge what US have done but they're really want to hold on the top position of superpower country.
Bitcoin was never a threat to a bigger government like US, they are so powerful and they are in control of their own country and even smaller countries. With the current market standing of bitcoin, we know it is not that strong compared to the fiat system yet and everything in order to prosper requires the blessings of the government but the prosper will only be limited to what government has set.

China definitely has a plan to pass its currency into the reserve currencies basket. Some months ago the Yuan was introduced in the Special Drawing Rights basket by the IMF, which is a further step to a world reserve currency status.

However, in my opinion, a single global currency is a bad idea, and I think the world has already realized it and will come with a basket of more currencies, like Yuan, Euro, Dollar, etc. The USD is maintained only because of the US agreements with the Arab and OPEC countries to sell their oil for USD. Yet, there is nothing fair in this game, and the situation will soon change as the BRICS countries try to go apart.

For thousands of years gold and silver were considered as universal between the nations. However, some groups of people got control of it in the 19th century, and afterwards they renounced the gold standard in favor of fiat money which they also controlled.

Gold reserve is still a sign of stability, and if the government would control it, that would be great for the economic growth. This is why China tries to back its currency by gold.

I think also usa has nothing against bitcoin and that is a country which respects individual rights and wishes, they can live very well using dollar and bitcoins together. Each citizen will use the currency he wants and each store will accept the currency it wants.
Dollar will continue ruling the world for the nexr decades for sure. Bitcoin is weak yet to be accepted by the majority population parcel.

Yes it is true, for the current USD still dominates the world economy, even in a variety of ways. His power is so strong everywhere. Maybe Bitcoin as digital currency a way to not be in the rule and power.
