Many of traders are thinking that facebook ads caused this dip but crypto world run twitter and telegram more than Facebook.and global market was down so it was expected dip of btc. And one more thing that cause this further dip was fud rumors created by media that india was going to ban cryptocurrency.so Facebook ban hardly caused any dips.

I don't think a big impact will be found on the ico's just because of the ban of cryptocurrency related ads on Facebook. Now the concern project team will find a way to promote through different platform similar to telegram to reach out the people.

Yeah, without Facebook it's not a big issue in promoting ICO's ads. Facebook is not a good place to promote ICO's, it's for social and family connections. We still have a twitter, Instagram and telegram to name some useful social media sites and also they can use Reddit, cryptocompare and here bitcointalk.org.
Nothing to worry as cryptoworld is still good without Facebook.

facebook only banned ico ads, ico will rely on private users to spread the word about them. but I'm sure ico has a lot of social networking so they do not just rely on facebook only

We need to accept it because the popular it become, more scammers are getting attracted to enter this industry and fool more people. I think Mark Zuckerburg thought that it's  a very risky investment that they are entering having only less knowledge about it.

Pretty much nothing unless Facebook takes the consideration of use of cryptos for money sending or remittances. Almost every group page in the site regarding cryptos were mostly hidden rather than even promoted. People who join facebook bounty to advertise the ICOs doesn't get that much of attention because the crypto itself isn't really "known" but people are sort of "aware" to it. If there will be specific effect then:

-Spams from the site will be greatly reduced, because all those people out there tend to spam by sharing lots of content from the ICO page they need to do their obligation.

-It will have mirror-effect in the people's mind in the silence of these advertisement. Instead of thinking of it as a scam, they will be more curious to it. Most likely they will always start with Bitcoin or Ethereum

-The traffic of advertisement of the ICO will increase in the Twitter due to recent ban. It is social media, people will do everything to promote or market their service or product.

-More ICOs will fail? I don't think so. Facebook is a really large site, let's accept it but because of its largeness in a single or main purpose, people would likely just use to to chat people. The trust level in advertisement in Facebook isn't really as high as what we can assume. There are a lot of investors in Facebook but could they really trust something that fluctuates?

In general, we shouldn't worry about it. Facebook might "look like" the largest opportunity to earn a lot of investors in the crowdfunding of the ICOs but it could make things worse if these keeps going as not all the ICOs are legit and it could just cause degrade in the crypto if the new crypto investors will find out that the project was just a fraud all these time.

Facebook prohibits ICO advertising, which in no way affects the ICO bounty, because, in bounty campaigns, every user has to write their own ICO postings and post them to Facebook, without having to use the form of advertising. So it does not affect ICO's bounty campaigns.

ico will have no choice than to put the work into bounty hunters hands. increase facebook bounty and allow more participant to spread the information. although this might not be more effective than placing ads but it might work as well

Well, I think existing ICO pages are remaining, but without ads, just for conversation and any updates for community
I actually heard from someone that some of their pages were locked out and they were told to contact the admin to get it sorted out. I would not blame them anyway, it is for a good cause and I am sure a lot of users could have complained, maybe after getting scammed by some of the adverts. They had a very good reason to stop the adverts, but in terms of the impact it would have on ICOs, I doubt if it will ever be much.

As others have said, only ICO ads will be banned. So ICOs can't pay for sponsored ads about their tokensale. If anything, this could mean more Facebook bounties since ICOs will rely on private users to spread the word about them. I think it is a loss on Facebook's part, but then ICOs can pay for ads in more crypto-centric platforms. Only ones that need mass adoption or general use will benefit from Facebook ads as not many come to Bitcointalk.

Icos just lost a place where they can advertise, but that is not a problem, they have many other social networks for that. Its questionable how popular Facebook is for bitcoin users, I saw that bounty campaigns are paying more for posting on twitter, medium, and telegram is very popular too.
Facebook is very big, they can't stay immune on crypto, they will need to find a way to get into all this, by accepting crypto or making their own ico. What ever they do it will be big, because they are big, and they have a lot of people there, they have money to finance what ever they wish and ways to promote it. Probably their only problem for now is legality, they can't make anything now and risk to be banned in many countries. When we see more regulations in crypto world, we can expect Facebook to make their own alt.

Facebook bans only really bad ads which are making fake offers, promotions with posts and reposts still ok.
I think now everything is fine and I still see a lot of ads about ICO project again =.=. It's very noisy and uncomfortable although I clicked to hide the ads several times but it's still there. But luckily for now I also can send any link on Bitcointalk to my friend again without any "space" between the link anymore.LOL

Facebook have it new policy pertaining to initial coins offerings 'ICOs' . The policy specifically prohibits ads that promote ICO on it platform.
The banned is due to the fact there are so many companies who are advertising ICOs that are not currently operating in good standards and faith.
In the meantime, Facebook is encouraging people to report content that violates this new policy.
What effect do you think this will have on ICOs and future  of cryptocurrencies?
There might be a loss of advertising area or space but to think off not only facebook is the place on where those ICO could able to promote their crowdfunding yet there are still lots of places to choose from and also not all people on facebook are aware of crytpocurrencies existence which means theres still be some chances but it would rather be small on getting investors. If its banned then let it be but it cant really completely stop the ICO trend.

I don't think it made a big effect on ICOs because still facebook campaigns can do their job but only the paid promotions is restricted.Ans facebook is not a major platform of advertising about ICOs since many common people even don't know that word initial coin offering(ICO).But twitter has a big part in advertising about the new projects because most of the crypto related users uses twitter to get the latest news.
But many people think that facebook banned the ICO ads but they only stopped promoting them so banned is not a perfect word because it convey negativity to the people.

Facebook is considered as first social media platform right now
It's not the first social media platform right now. It's the most popular but it's not considered as the first social media platform. And whether they ban ICO's advertisement they really doesn't care about it because there are other ways to advertise and not only through them.

This takes a pretty big toll on all projects really. Advertisement is huge and has a pretty big impact on the investors who are planning on getting in. The only thing I can see that might not make this as bad is that a lot of average users on Facebook probably barely know about bitcoin, much less ICO's. So it's possible that the lack of advertisement on facebook isn't as big as it seems, but I think that theory is a pretty big stretch myself.

ICO's need to get out and let people know about their projects as much as possible if they plan on being successful. It's the way start-ups make it big, and I see ICO's as nothing more than a start-up, albeit in a more developmental stage.

It can create an huge trouble for those weak hand people and we can see some dumps if this one will be happen, but this one will be temporarily happen since their are still faceboon bounty ads will exist and huge whales, investors will see the coin product since the bounty participants itself will spread the word about their project.
