My brother was playing about the altcoins and I was asking him what it is he told me something the bitcoins. So I was watching a documentarie about it and I like the freedom of it. So I was also doing some of the altcoins and starting to collect bitcoins.

I became interested when I saw it on the news. There was a report about it on the news where they explained that bitcoin was used for illigal stuff to launder money. That's when I became interested and looked up some information about it on the internet and what the concept of it was.

I just saw it mentioned on the news and thought "that's an awesome idea" then got involved straight away. I think it's going to be a long wait but bitcoin should eventually be used as a worldwide currency an alterantive to fiat money around the world.

I became interested in it because people around me were actually talking about it. They talked about how they regretted not investing in it and that's when I asked them if they could explain to me how bitcoin worked and how it came to be. And 1.5 years later here I am. I'm still learning new things about bitcoin everyday and everything that has to do with bitcoin.

I came to know about bitcoin a couple of years back but I didn't think any of it, until earlier this year. Back when I first heard about it 1 bitcoin was worth around $50, it was actually my mom who told me about it. I didn't think any of it so I didn't invest in it. It's one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made but it's not too late to invest into it now.

$50 is nothing when i first heard about it it was around a $1...... Cry

In 2011 a friend of mine said he discovered a strange and fascinating phenomenom one could mine on the internet: bitcoin. I was interested but didn't took it very seriously. In the early spring of 2013 I noticed the rising value of Bitcoin and decided to buy a very small amount of it, just for giggles. The friend in question already had between 70 and 100 BTC in his wallet and bought a whole bunch of LTC while it was $0,40, selling it off not much later when price increased to $3 or $4. In april 2013 he sold half of his Bitcoin stash and was able to buy a car with his profit. In the meanwhile, I managed to lose 90% of my (luckily miniscule) initial amount through awful trading.

In the final months of 2013 I managed to get some profit with slightly increased trading-skills and riding the initial success of Dogecoin, but max. amount of Bitcoin never exceeded 0,08. Throughout 2014 and the first half of 2015 I lost interest in Bitcoin, but now I'm keeping an eye on it again and learning more about all its aspects.

I was first interested I about how bitcoins works. I was starting with faucets and I was really happy that I just earn 50 cents in a week.
So I started doing also some bitcointalk and signature campaign to earn more bitcoins so yeah. For some post and for some little time you can earn a little of money.
Also I was interested about the price of bitcoin.

Got drawn in by the stories of miners making dime. Got in a bit late on bitcoin mining, so mined a shed load of LTC instead. After I converted them to BTC.

Main interest in Bitcoin is honestly the price hype. I am not ashamed to admit that.

I have been active to bitcoin just recently. I have heard about it years ago but I am ignoring it. But recently, I learned that a colleague is earning sums of money from bitcoin so it got my attention. Then I started focusing on it until now. Now I am slowly learning the ways to earn bitcoins. Hopefully I'll get to the level where I can confidently trade bitcoins and earn sums of money too.

I used to have two PCs sitting idle couple years back and I went to another forum to see if I can use them for anything. Somebody suggested to mine BTC and the saga began.  Grin

Its pretty hilarious I heard bout it back in June 2012 nd I thought it was useless to use and it would die out I had recently came back in on the scenes at around August 2015 when I saw the price of it.

I don't find it hilarious , I find it sad. Probably you had a lot of regrets for not being involved back then cuz if were you, I will be like that Cheesy Imagine hearing a stuff worth tens of dollars each before and used to become a thousands of dollars and now its worth hundreds of dollars.

I first heard about bitcoins through a friend of mine who was actively trading and making dollars ever single minute. With my curiosity, I went ahead and seek his advice on the same. I found that it is something that I can easily handle and control. he has been the person helping me throughout the journey i begun a few years ago. I can say it has been great. I have earned from bitcoin more than I have ever earned in any job I have been.

As the forum thread title says, I am interested in your Bitcoin story, how did you become interested in Bitcoin?  Smiley

I got interested in BTC about 3 years ago or so after stumbling into the forums somehow and ending up on just-dice.com
I remember doog gave me .01 BTC and that was the first tip I got. I also remember Mirecea popescu giving me a whole BTC back when they were worth nearly $100. Those were the good old days. Now I'm up to my eyeballs in debt and scrambling to get my klyemax website up and running so I can start buying back investors shares or paying them out weekly dividends. Its been a long and hard path so far but in it to win it, and clear my name.

The first time I heard about Bitcoin, was when I was standing in a shop and the guy in front of me asked, "Do you accept Bitcoin"
I had no idea what it was, and I did not want to look like a idiot, so I went home and I Googled it. Those few words, pulled me down the rabbit hole. I was hooked, when I grasped the whole concept.  Grin

Oh the lady in the shop replied, "No Sir, but my boss is looking into it."

I heard about it roughly 3 years ago in 2012 during the first year my gaming pc was born. I was learning about the world of pc hardware and the various things done with graphics cards after hours when they are idle. I got into spending my extra gpu power on Folding@Home which was a big thing on the pc forum I was frequenting and we had a team/giveaways every month for people that supported the cause. Then there was a bitcoin section added and for all intensive purposes it overlapped with the F@H section since there were similar rigs for both (couple graphics cards, motherboard, psu and tons of fans).

I took a few glances at it and read up on what information was available which was pretty vague other than download some client and spend resources on hopefully getting some virtual coins. In my off time I did download the client and get it running to the point of it catching up to the current blockchain. From there I cant remember if I did mine or not but if I did it was using the miner on the client. It was all confusing and I put the whole bitcoin thing on the backburner til 2013ish.

I think Bitcoin was around $140 ish and I do remember debating on whether or not to buy some, mostly because I loved looking at the btc/usd charts and all of the information and news was flowing nicely. I started visiting a few faucets every now and then and messed around watching it hit $1000+. Around November that year I created this account here and lurked reading everything not really feeling the need to post but checking on things regularly.

A month later Dogecoin came out and I learned about the altcoins and how to actually mine. Getting in early I did manage to earn a nice amount of dogecoins each day but I didn't really have much value behind them and it was a nice fun project to mine for at night. After that get really into cryptocurrency stuff, mined a bit, bought a bit, lost a lot, learned a lot, and had fun every moment of it!

Because its quite hard to earn in the start, but I still tried it she let try gaming(coin flapper)
Faucet first which is very easy. I got 1 mbtc in an hour and continue to play
Until I got about 5 mbtc it took me at least 6-7 hours to complete it but it was worth
It for m because it was my firs time , then she introduced me to bitcointalk
And fired trading that when I really got hook in bit coin.
