I don't know about ETH really, or for that fact any other crypto, for the next 20 years there will be nothing to challenge the status of Bitcoin as the gold standard of crypto. And Litecoin as much as I like the coin and project, it specifically marketed itself in the past as a silver standard, next to Bitcoin. So in terms of price it will never catch up, but in tech? Litecoin got segwit first remember?

to be able to catch up bitcoin ,is less likely but what I see now is that the price of ethereum has started to rise from before even though there is a slight decrease, expect ethereum to go up again and be at the highest price

I agree with this 100%. It is so often the case that once the BTC surge starts to slow down, then money pours into alts, and they increase as well. And also if you look at the charts for the huge bear market, you can see that alts started to drop in early January 2018... but you will also see that BTC peaked and started to drop shortly before that. BTC price movements can often be very useful in predicting how alts will move.
That's because the movement of bitcoin does affect market price movements, including the altcoin price. after prices have risen and returned to stable, etheruem and altcoin usually begin to follow growth slowly. but if there is a decline in bitcoin, with the altcoin market also following the decline.

I'm consistently putting small amounts into ETH and LTC as a kind of emergency fund that likes to grow.  When, exactly, do you guys think that the recent surge in BTC will result in a "catch up" surge in ETH and LTC?
I do, but it looks like you are a new adopters of crypto right? have you seen the old chart and that should be 2017 chart and the price of anyother coins will grow after bitcoin has down with its pump. Price of ethereum and litecoin will follow the surge that happens on the bitcoin price after it has stopped.
This pattern was repeating so many times and it's so easy to know where will be the direction of crypto.

it will not possible in the next 10 years because the ethereum and litecoin is very low when compared to the Bitcoin because when we see the values for this investment we can see the result easily with our eyes without any research between will be more and more developed.

It will be not possible in 20, 30 years also. However, I guess that the teams of Litecoin and Ethereum do not have a goal to let their altcoins grow so greatly so that could reach Bitcoin in price and market capitalization.

One of Bitcoin "whales" it is standing on it its fame. Other cryptocurrencies will never get it no matter how good, fast and safe they are.

We actually can see that ETH is more aggressive than BTC on the recent price surge. Bitcoin on the other hand continues to increase but much slowly and there are times it rest thn rise again. ETH has its consistency of going up and those who choose to invest in ETH rather than BTC this time chooses right.
The price of ETH right now is up by almost 20%, it moves better than bitcoin for the past 24hrs and I think ETH is aiming for $300 mark level again. LTC is also doing great, 14% increase for 24hrs is already a good sign compare to the 3% increase of bitcoin. Consistency is the key for a bull run, and ETH is proving it and invest have to choose the more active coins who pumps a lot so they can secure a profit, I believe ETH is not finish yet so don't sold for now.

What catch up are you implying?
Same price with BTC? Grin

Dont worry it will.
ETH and LTC have been in the crypto space for a long time and I think it will just be a manner of time before people finds out they are two of the best options when bitcoin is surging in tx fee.
I myself still use ETH when I find exchanges giving me a load of tx fee just for a little amount to be transferred.

it is possible but the Bitcoin is in the moon and the ethereum and litecoin is in the earth so reaching the moon is not possible with normal vehicles it needs Rocket to enter into it so if the development is like a rocket then the facility is available for reaching the Bitcoin.
of course it's not easy and it's hard to believe if ethereum and litecoin are chasing bitcoin. yes indeed their popularity is almost the same, but if it is under bitcoin I still believe, we can compare the prices of these three coins themselves are very different. bitcoin will remain the main coin and cryptocurrency leader.

Well we cant tell yet on when ETH and LTC catch up to BTC, But as of now its only BTC are smoothly increasing the price. We hope some coins also will be join of BTC increasing the price because that we waiting for to increasing all of coins the prices.

It will be naive to think that it can happen. Litecoin and Ethereum (by the way, why are these altcoins chosen?) will grow, but they cannot catch up with the main cryptocurrency.
Some Litecoin holders believe that this token can reach more than 200 dollars this year, but the alt will be following Bitcoin only. halving can affect its price positively, however.

it will likely catch up when btc price will stable for a bit, eth and ltc and all other alts will surely have a price growth, but seeing the btc price is extremely great as we are waited it for a long time

I don't think eth and ltc will gonna pump so high same as bitcoin. Considering they can not reach the market cap of bitcoin. They may near to catch up  the price but not fully. But you've chosen a right coins to invest because they are potential projects. And I do trust these coins.

Looking at current market prices, Ethereum and Litecoin are also experiencing growth. I think this price growth is due to the encouragement of Bitcoin whose prices continue to rise. But this is quite interesting because the conditions are now almost the same as in 2017. Ethereum and Litecoin will definitely continue to grow and I remember when in 2017 these two coins gave many advantages.

I suppose they won't catch up to btc. They may rise the same percentage in price bitcoin is rising, but the price difference between bitcoin and these 2 altcoins will give always proportional advantage to bitcoin.
Altcoins like eth and ltc will only catch up bitcoin on the day they push the crypto market up, and not btc, what I guess it's not going to happen.

I think Ethereum still make price movement for now and we can see it increased it's price (when i post this). Maybe with bitcoin pumped, other coin will follow it and a lot of people can be very happy with that.

Of course if the BTC experiences a price increase, the two coins will quickly follow the rise in the price of Bitcoin and you can see it at this time how much the price of coins that you hold right now certainly has got a very good price right? so we have nothing to lose if we believe in coins that clearly have good quality like LTC and ETH.

It usually follows bitcoin which appears to be pumping now. Eth and litecoin has suddenly jumped as we all knew they would. It's just a case of who has the most patience, weak hands will walk away while the hodlers will eventually benefit from these rises

When we do talk about catching up then it would still takes time basing on their current value but if we do talk about price increase then not only ETH and LTC would rise up when
Bitcoins price tends to rise up.Just take a look on the current condition of the market which you do see that most alts is being dragged on Btc price recovery.
Don't stress out yourself too much on when they would able to catch up with btc.
