You can determine the right time to sell by comparing the price in the amount you bought the coins. if you think you earn enough and you are contented then sell it. im only selling the portion of my coins to get my capital and then hold the remaining to earn more. i think if you dont need money let your investment to grow and give it some time so you can get big profit.

i go with a % also.

but it is all in the speculation! you do some analysis, for example it can be TA and also combined with the news you get from here and there and then see how much rising potential the thing you've invested in has.

for example when you invest in an altcoin that has been at a fixed price for some time with a decent high volume (indicating accumulation) and you find a news that can cause a rise, you can easily aim for a 100% profit in a couple of days and sell there.

another example is when you find an altcoin that is randomly getting pumped. or an altcoin that is big, like the top 10 coins, and see them rising, it is best to aim for a smaller % and dump there. for example it can be 5% to 15%

it is also based on your strategy. some people prefer a much longer investment so they aim for bigger % and some do more of a short term, day trading kind of thing and they aim for a smaller %.

**** and for bitcoin: i only buy and HODL Grin

Before trading altcoins you need to critically analyse the prices from different sites before you start trading   otherwise you might run at a lost.

Sell when the price is right! Hehehe! That will be an awesome move! Sell when the market is not panicking and when it's all time high!
In my opinion, sell only when you think the amount of profit you are getting by selling your Bitcoins is well enough. You can only make a decision of selling your Bitcoins if the market price is good enough.

I am personally not in favor of this thing that one should sell his Bitcoins. You need to hold your Bitcoins for as long as you can.

I sell when the prices rises and giving me at-least 2 time profit. And if the prices increases but not that much then i will hold them until the price become double. Even though some time if i need money i can sell at any price.

When do you decide to sell?

Is it a sat, a % of profit, or even a randomly thought up number in your head?

I am new to trading Crypto, but when I traded other stocks, I would aim for a certain percentage.
This seems much easier to hit that percentage, but much more risky.

How do you determine when to let it go?

well in my case i mostly sell when the value of that specific coin is much higher compared to its past and current price. but it usually depends on you if what is your goal or what is your preffered value in order to earn much more profit on your invested coins although there are stil people who would always wait long enough to see if the coin reaches its peak value.

I will sell it when it's achieving profitability.
I sold it gradually and also look at the condition of the market if the market has experienced a downturn then when it bought back. And again gradually so that the market does not decline drastically.

I always sell when i know that it is the right time to sell. And when do the that right time? When the price is right. When I like the price of what I'm going to get then I probably gonna sell my coins that I'm storing. Because you dont want do sell that when you will only get a little bit of money, of course you are gonna sell whenever you met your expectations. Because our hard work always deserve tons of money. And thats how I sell my coins.

Usually I only sell bitcoin when its price has recovered as it is now, but for now I want to sell it at $5k, that's my next sales target.

Yes.Me to having a same idea as like you.Since the price of bitcoin is now started to raise back it's old value. So you can wait for a week or 10 days to get that value of 5000$.Now the price is Around 4400$.After a week I think this will reach that value So.This is the best time to inverse.

It is depend on your profit expectation. If you trade in short term, you should put a profit rate to your trades. %15 - 20 is ideal profit rate for trade.

is this for day traders? I mean if you keep selling and buying , how would u know how much it would go up and go down. Unless you are the insider of the firm, maybe this is possible.

Maybe by monitoring the movements of the coin he had and many people are doing that and they are been settled to earn some low percentage a day. And short trading is best to execute with bitcoins since the movements are so unstable earn with it if we let our eyes watch closely unto it.
Today is the perfect day to sell bitcoin in the market, because this day bitcoin value were raised up to $4300. For now it better to sell before the bitcoin value is fall down. We cannot sure if the bitcoin value was stay on high price or it was declining. To be sure selling is the best option we can do for now.

It is really a good price to buy bitcoins nowadays but I am also hesitant because the price may even go higher - all we do really is hold, invest, and trade. Those 3 are the basic and prime ways to earned some or grow some of your bitcoins and altcoins.

I usually sell when I gain 5-20% of the profits from the altcoin business. I think if I did not sell at the time then surely the altcoin would drop because the whale and the investor would sell very quickly.

I am even ok with 3% gain because it gives me confidence and a sense of assurance everytime my tradingview gets notifications that I have just earned 3%. With .5 btc, in each trade, getting 3% gain is god enough but when your bankroll is small, you really can't appreceiate much your earnings..

Well with how the market is moving today, with some uncertainties of how the exchanges in china will unfold, even a 5% profit would be good enough for me. That's for trading alts as i'm holding to my btcs for better or for worse
I always appreciate having a target percentage of profits when you are trading and especially if you are doing with bitcoins.

You need to be very sensible when involved in trading since trading is pretty risky and the market fluctuates all the time. No need to be greedy and miss the chance of earning good money just by dreaming for bigger one.
It's good to dream big but that is for your long term investment, if you can do both short term and long term then you have a big chance of increasing your money faster. Once you are successful with short term trade, you will gamble more because you feel making money is easy in an instant but still always observed to minimize the risk since not all the time we get the success.
