This is what I did every trade I have made, sell when in profit and buy at a dip price. Seeing the market in the high price then take profit is a good choice. Following social media an influencer may give an impact to the price but take note only invest on what we can afford to lose. Never invest on the coins that are not popular this will bring loss in your portfolio. Always remember take profit since market is volatile.
yes, I avoided them. Those who offer a signal to invest in top assets with initial profits. but it turns out that afterwards there will be offers to buy assets that are not well known to us but already on the market. they're like trapping us. I believe your word to only invest in assets that we can afford to lose. don't even think about following other people.
I think that each user uses in the cryptocurrency market only that capital that will not harm his home budget. but in order to minimize losses or get a certain guarantee, you need to invest only in those cryptocurrencies that you know everything about. Examples of these are Bitcoin and Ethereum.

You can do some trading strategies for you to know when you will sell your altcoins, that's what I always do to save my profits and don't get burned. You can use Mudrex if you want to make some good trading strategies for yourself.

When should long-held alt coins be sold? When to sell even when we are in profit? That doesn't make sense. Let me know if there is a suitable alternative to this issue.

I think the time is right to sell assets that we hold for a long time when the Altcoin price has reached the ICO price or has approached the ICO price. however, not many altcoins are able to return their price to their ICO price once they are listed on the market. so you better sell the altcoins after the price reaches 1/2 of the ICO price. most importantly we can get a little profit rather than not get anything.
Just sell if you are already satisfied with the price, if it is increasing and continue holding if you will just suffer from the fees. I have many altcoin holdings from ICO projects before and even if I can sell it at this moment, it is just not enough to cover the hard work I've used to earn them, not to mention high fees on exchanges which will just be a waste of time doing so. I decided to just keep them in my wallet as a remembrance. But if you do feel that coin has a future because of the project itself, choose to hold and wait. And if not, and also you are aiming to cut the losses, then do sell those coins. It will just be your choice as an investor or user whether to sell or just hold.

For me I don't really have a specific target I want my alt coins to reach before I sell them. It's better to evaluate them right before we need the money instead of having fixed strategies month in advance. I usually try to invest in new altcoins by selling some older holdings which are making a profit. So if I need the money I usually sell the coin which is made the most profit for me.

Your question is such a noob one, if you hold an altcoin and don't know when to sell it, I think you shouldn't hold that altcoin in the first place, but I understand you might just be making this post just for the purpose of raising your post count which is not an ideal thing in this forum, you should try and make better posts or ask better questions that will help you grow in the platform.

Now market is bullish, so many assets have grown and a lot of people get virtual profit. Why did I call it virtual? Huge number of people continue to believe in endless growth, when they see x5 or x10 multiplying of their investments. I recommend to create own strategy for selling such assets, because endless growth is impossible and when you got profit, you already can sell small part of the assets. It`s better to earn a little, than lose your investments. On bullish market it sounds strange, but history proves, changes happen so fast, you even couldn`t resist it.

the old coins that we hold don't change in cost, and this is totally related advancement of the undertaking inside the coin proprietor group. On the off chance that the objective isn't accomplished [ICO isn't successful], at that point the coin won't be recorded. clearly, if the coins we have are of no worth.

You sell a hodling altcoin that you have in your bags when you are in profit; you cannot be confused about selling in profit; because you know your buying price, you know the present trading rate; all you have to do is calculate your profit percentages then decide to take it or wait for more profit margins. I do no think there are other  alternatives.

If you have seen that there is a huge opportunity to gain a very good amount of profit then sell your long term hodl altcoin because we cannot even say when will the market will fall knowing its volatility so always take profit.
Hold in the long term is very difficult to do except for those who are super patient in holding something, and what is held must be really good and good, because not all Altcoins can be suitable for holding in the long term.
Every investor is not a long-term investor, mostly they want to make quick money. But as you know sometimes you need to wait for the right day. As you mentioned it is not easy to be patient, long term investing is so hard and you should make the right coin for the long term. l mean every altcoin is not a great choice for long term investing. Everything is possible in cryptocurrency, we must make hard research for choosing any coin for long term investing.

all I know is to sell when it goes up and make a profit and buy again when the price goes down or is very cheap. it's that simple I invest in crypto assets. but I never choose an asset that is not popular in the market. I only believe in the top market and some popular projects with big exchanges. I am very rarely even have difficulty analyzing a project. even when I follow social media or from the community I will experience panic to sell or buy an asset that is discussed.

Indeed, if we want to hold coins in the long term, it is certainly not easy,
because it requires extraordinary patience for sure and not everyone can have such patience,
better think clearly before deciding to hold back in the long run,
however I think it comes down to individual decisions

if you want to get a lot of profit then you can sell it when the price is still cheap, it is sometimes very difficult to wait for the price to rise and no one knows when is the right time to sell assets at high prices, there are still ways to still be able to sell assets at high prices You can place a sell order at a high price so that when the price goes up you won't be too late to withdraw the asset.
They can set any amount they want if they are satisfied with it. If they are not monitoring well the market they should probably do this in order not to late for them if the price suddenly fall. Market todays are more unpredictable you do not know where and when the price will up and down. If the token is new and become listed to good exchanger it will definitely pump maybe 1-2 weeks. In this time, you can sell them or hold if the project has potential in the future. I will sell if the profit will satisfy me and I'm happy about it.

first, i will find the most trusted coin by the investors, then i'll hold it for my long-term investment. don't hold any coins carelessly.
i always hold it for 1 or 2 years. so i shouldn't check the market frequently. sometimes i always forget what coins that i hold. i'll sell it when the price give is high and give me a really big profit.

not every old coins will keep maintain its price,it's all depending on the development of the project of the coin itself.
If the projects is failed, then it will be gone forever and wont be listed in the market.
for me, i still hold one of old coins i keep since 2017 morph, and these days it keep increasing.

everyone will sell coins when they actually see that the price of their coins has increased, can close their initial capital, or even make a big profit and then sell. So what are you confused about this? Or do you have some really good coins and you are confused between selling for a profit or waiting for them to rise even higher?
I hope you can take it into account, my advice is not to be greedy. And if you're not sure, sell some and keep the rest.

It's not a quality topic for me because buy altcoins and sell it's decision in your opinion so that's why i won't recommend you without mention token name. After buying altcoins if you gonna looking profitable chert then you should sell. So im sure if you have no more commonsense about crypto market then you should wait future.

I would sell my holdings when it reach the price that I am or if I gain the profit that I want.
For me it would depend on each holders not everyone have the same idea so you should decide it on your own,
I have some bad experience in taking profit so I wouldn't give some advice when it comes to it everyone should decide it for their own.
