First thing is the situation in which you are. If you don't need money then you can just hold it for a long time and sell just portion in the future to get back the money you invested so you know you will not lose the money. But have some price in mind to sell (if not 100% then just 50% or 25%) because then otherwise you will be too greedy and maybe lose a lot of profits maybe not invested money. I think a lot of us was burnt in 2017-2018 after bull market was finished.

When should long-held alt coins be sold? When to sell even when we are in profit? That doesn't make sense. Let me know if there is a suitable alternative to this issue.
In this kind of case there are actually two types of people, the first is the holder and the second is the trader, now those who hold a large number of tokens will always monitor price movements just to determine when it is time to release, regardless of how long he has held the token. , and another one is for the trader, he will always monitor the price and the number of requests in each day and always make orders at a slightly higher price in order to find a profit in an amount that he has set himself, this type of person usually doesn't like it. hold for a long time as he will tend to make sell orders in the market.

I think you should make a suitable goal before buying any coin and when goal achieved simply secure your profit and make new investment in other coin you think this might be raise and you Can collect profit
Cryptocurrency is not stable and we cannot say that i will always give you profit.

Depends:
  • If you have a shitcoin you should find an appropriate time to get out of it before it collapses. It is mostly when the hype train reached its peak.
  • If you have a valuable coin (such as Bitcoin for instance) then I would only sell if I would need money to cover my bills or to buy stuff, but not to hold fiat instead.

if I personally sell altcoin that I hold when the price has increased very high and gives me a very big profit (at least I get 300% profit from my capital), so when the price has increased and gives me profit according to my target (the profit I get is at least 300% of my capital), then I will sell my altcoin and looking for other altcoin to be used as a investment again.
Certainly, to be able to get up to 300% of your capital is not that easy,
and it also takes a long time because we don't know when the price of the altcoin you are holding will go up,
so like it or not we have to really have high patience,
however it is your decision and we also have to respect that

If you received coins as payment for bounty work, then they should not be held for a long time and if they are already traded on the exchange, they should be sold if the price is acceptable to you. Because as a rule, solid projects very rarely hold bounties now, because they easily sell their coins at the beginning of sales.

When you already profit, it's already a good sign to sell your bag. Don't hold it for too long, there are consequences to it like the price could be dumped by users who hold more coins than you. If you are holding a reputable project though, you have the option to just keep holding until you need money for an emergency. I normally do that later option because I can just think of it like its just there on the wallet while I'm also busy with my dayjob.

sometimes the old coins that we hold do not change in price, and this is all related development of the project within the coin owner team. If the target is not achieved [ICO is not successful] then the coin will not be listed. obviously, if the coins we have are of no value.
if we get coins from the trades we do, then when price goes up, that's when we have to sell it in order to get a profit

you will never sell cryptocurrency that you invested if you don't know the target you want, because you will definitely be greedy and want to get the maximum profit, but you don't know what will happen to the market, because there is a possibility that the price of cryptocurrency that you invest will go down before you sell it, therefore I advise you to determine the profit you want before investing, so that you will know when is the right time for you to sell cryptocurrency that you invest.

We are in holding altcoins for the sake of getting profit. Because nobody does that if it never makes sense unless if you are holding shitcoins coz no matter how long you've been holding, still it never changed. But I'm not saying we need to hold all the times, we have to check the market status as often to monitor the trend if we are already in profit and make a sell of our coins.

We have to come up with the reality that investing in crypto is not we instantly make gains, it is a need to wait for the time where we can generate profit. And that simply we need to hold for while.

When should a long-held alt coin be sold?
The long-held altcoins were sold when the exchange was there for sure. or the price has reached 1/2 the price of the ICO, better equal to the ICO price

When to sell even when we are profit?
it is said to be lucky if the tokens we have are sold above the ico price, and may have new ATH

that's what I have in mind, Grin
