As you said, one of the benefits is that they will not spend or lose too much money in gambling because they have a good approach and are advised which indirectly this approach can prevent themselves from bad possibilities such as addiction, but on the other hand I don't can fully say that they will completely avoid the possibility of becoming addicted to gambling which is full of temptation, which means that they may experience changes in thought patterns over time which will trap them in an impulsive approach which ultimately leads them to addiction.
self control in gambling is a good way to handle our losses cause if we don't have self control then there's a chance that we will loss a lot of money because of the reason that we are too greedy that we can't handle ourselves and bet as we can without knowing that our bankroll is run out of money. But anyways there are many gamblers who can control themselves and they didn't loss a lot of money in gambling and that's a good example of a responsible gamblers.
