Indeed, experiencing hunger can affect our focus when playing gambling. Yes, it is better not to force our stomach to empty when gambling. It would be better to fill our body with nutrition. If you force it, it will definitely make your body weak. Avoid drinking alcohol when you play at the gambling table, especially if they play drunk, of course they will lose consciousness and they will definitely not focus on playing and they will definitely experience defeat. Usually people don't play again, usually they are frustrated. They lost a lot of money there and want to try again. They think more about their lives than gambling again.
I agree that drinking alcohol will make you making higher bets, and that's not good in general. But I disagree regarding not playing when you are hungry. In my opinion feeling of hunger can play a positive role: at one point you decide that you need to eat something and you stop playing and go to a cafe. Then you are sitting there and eating your food and thinking "That's enough of gambling for me for today. I think I'll do something else." And that's a good thinking when you have gambled for an hour or more already.
What if someone stops gambling, goes to a cafe, orders some food, and starts gambling while eating the food?
That's exactly what an addicted gambler would do, and some would even think that they would make some more money for food when they are hungry if they are gambling regardless of the fact that they can lose as well and if they lose everything, they might not even have enough money to get food which should stop them in actual sense.
Though what you said is right and a responsible gambler might do that, however, an addicted gambler wouldn't be able to do that, and the reason why one shouldn't gamble when they are hungry or anything is because it will not let you focus on your gambling and if you are playing a skill-based game, you will most likely lose due to this.
I understand addiction. The best people out there grapple with it. Smart folks, really terrific folks, sometimes find themselves in tough situations. This hunger thing - its not about food, not really. Its that quick fix, that gamble, the rush that hooks you. Its clever, this addiction thing, but its not smart. It clouds your judgment, makes you play a loser's game.
Blaming someone in this situation? Well, thats not productive. Now, am I the most empathetic guy in the world? Maybe not always, but I see whats happening here. We need action, a change in approach. Forget about just getting by meal-to-meal; lets build a better future. There's help out there - amazing people, tremendous resources to get back on track. This is about health, stability, the long game. Big picture thinking, thats how we win.
