many like and believe in ethereum as a coin with a bright future because there are always updates and big news Besides that, Ethereum enthusiasts are getting higher in the market and of course I'm still investing and aiming as a long term investment

Long time any coin can be held if its future has good news.The market is not always stable.So any coin is not good for long term hold.However, I would say that the coin should be held considering the news.But BTC and Etherium I am anxious enough to hold.

I suggest you should pay your attention to Link and Ripple. Applicability of those coins will be very wide in the future and I believe they will bring to you good profit if you invest in the long term.
I'm holding bitcoin, Ethereum and Tron. Just three of them. I have also nearly equal amount of USDC and USDT as I'm involved in active trading. I'm also planning to get rid of my Tron eventually and focusing on only Bitcoin and Ethereum as they are much less risky and too large to fail at the moment. If you want a trouble free profit or a want to start trading, BTC/USDC pair is my first recommendation.
It is certain that Bitcoin will be everyone's first choice, including myself who always prioritizes it because it still dominates all coins or Altcoins which greatly affect the movement of all coins or altcoins and Bitcoin is the trusted and oldest coin in the world.
Ethereum is my second choice and the best after bitcoin which I think will provide huge returns in the long run.

I chose coins that were popular and had high volume for the long term HODL, but this year it changed with the hype DeFi projects.
So I entered some DeFi projects for HODL, so my top 5 coins for long term HODL, namely:

I HODL Dogecoin too. don't forget, Dogecoin is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies that has good potential because it is supported by Elon Musk.
It seems that we have a choice of favorite alt coins that are almost quite the same in investing, but in this case I personally only make Bitcoin as my investment asset in the long-term while some other alt coins such as ETH and cardano to be more potential to be used as short-term investments and get daily profits regularly, I prefer LTC over the alt coin TRON because I see tron movement in the market is very stable and this is different from LTC which has a fairly active movement and also a fairly large market capitalization at the moment.
Ethereum, Binance Coin, Tether, Token Defi (Oikos & Mantra Dao), for ethereum and binance I use them to look for old projects that seem to have potential or dive into defi and usually they are mostly on dex, for tether I use them as backups when there is a tokensale that is tantalizing because most tokensale there are using usdt, for both defi tokens I'm just trying my luck to hold them for a long period of time.
of some of the portfolio lists that you mentioned, there are only a few that I still keep for the long term, especially BTC, Ethereum. I personally am not at all worried about saving some of the top cryptos for future investments. besides that I have added BNB & LINK, this is a good list of investment options. Is not it?

1. Bitcoin: Of course, this coin is already on top of my lists and I'm still stacking this coin for a long ass time until now and it's really worth it if you ask me.
2. Ethereum: It's already known as the best coin after Bitcoin. The price is little low right now but sure later the price will definitely beyond what we have currently.
3. BNB: It's really surprising that this coin is really good and it's still going up as far as I remember, really cool coin I would say
4. Ripple and 5. EOS, I'm still checking these two coins so I can't talk much about it

I think for the long hold I will only consider Bitcoin and Ethereum and for the short term, I will add OGN, TRON, BNB, and LEND as these coins give good return past few weeks.
I prefer Ethereum as a short and long term investment because ethereum looks good day by day the higher the volume in each market

There are so many coins that can be used as favorites for long-term hold. For me personally, bitcoin came first, then ETHEREUM and was followed by BNB. Btc, Eth and Bnb have a good future and have proven quality in the market. To seek long-term profit, you should choose a coin that is included in the 10 CMC list.
My favorite coins in my portfolio to date are only ethereum and bitcoin but I also see that chainlink has had a very good development and this will also be a consideration for me to hold in the long term

Those top coins that are really good to hold in the long term such as follows:

all these are just my choice and best good to hold in the long term.
But of course we had our own bet in terms of cryptocurrency choices.
In choosing an altcoin for us to invest in the long term we do have to choose well let alone the current coin movement which is not easy for us to guess, but from your choice I think it is appropriate and there is a little extra from me if you believe TRX is one of the coins that we can also invest for the long term because the current movement is very good.
We have different reasons why we chose to invest in a coin.So if you think TRX is a good choice and likely to give you profit then so be it. As long as long you did a research before investing that would be good, just dont forget to include btc and eth in your portfolio because these coins are proven profitable if you hold either for short or long term.
It's difficult to choose the top 5 because I hodl a lot of different altcoins in my cryptocurrency wallet, but in this way I would most likely single out Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, Stellar and Huobi token, and in general this list can be replenished for a long time.
Now I like to hold some altcoins which I have like Harmony (One) and Cartesi (CTSI). For me, these coins are on my top list. After these coin pumps, I will change to Bitcoin or Ethereum.
