Satoshi is rolling in his grave. #bitcoin
BTC-e and Cryptsy are the ones I use primarily, but if I'm dumping coins that aren't on those sites, I have to go where they're traded. Cryptsy has a massive amount of coins to trade with and is the most practical, but sometimes having BTC-e's lower Bitcoin value or the like is favorable. BTC-e and BitFinex are actually lower than most trading sites because of the fact that they offer their traders leverage. This makes it so that someone with a leverage of x2 can trade with $200 instead of $100. While this sounds like a good deal, if you loose the $200, you have to pay back the $100 leverage. That makes for the value to be usually lower than other sites.

I hate Cryptsy for many reasons, one of them is that they allways seam to pump value to useless coins and then dump afterwards.
Over and over again, it alse happens that certain sh*tcoin that i have is getting pumped, and when i transfer it there, it doesnt get credited until the dump is over, even tho it has more than enough confirmations.
Responses from support are allways useless, they resolve issues, but only after loss is certain.

On the other hand, btc-e has shown me nothing but good experience, im only sad they removed skrill (ex moneybookers) withdraw Sad
It was so handy..

Bitstamp is my favorite, I had some issues in the past with them but their customer support was fast and solved my problems.
Even if I trust it and I think that BitStamp is one of the safest exchanges, I prefer to store my savings in some cold wallets.

I use Bitstamp mainly because I like the GUI, it's easy to use and it works. You can also use two factor authentication aswell which is a bonus. Although I have not compared the fee's with any other exchanges.

I use BTER

And why?

It is easy to use
Has a nice range of coins to trade in
Deposits withdrawals go smooth
2 password to protect your account

Only backdraw is no trade to EUR

I just read that BTER has got hacked => https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bter-hacked-and-lost-50m-nxt-740147

I don't think the hack has anything to do with 2FA.
It is not the user accounts getting hacked, but bter's hot NXT wallet.

Poloniex is my favorite, as they are always adding new features to their site.

Bitstamp.
It seems to me it is the most trusted big exchange (comparing to the mysterious btc-e, the dead mtgox and the 0% fee Chinese exchanges).

Time is on our side, yes it is!
Well I just realized Poloniex did not charge me a fee to withdraw my coins and another exchange charged me. Also I think they had higher fees so Polo is a favorite for me at the moment.  I do have to read over the fees of the exchanges I use because I've never compared them to see which is the best option but not being charged a fee to withdrawal is always nice..

I am using BTC-e for exchange . I need Perfectmoney and btc-e converts my BTC to Perfectmoney on less exchange fee. BTC-e executes all account withdrawals right away or in 1-2 days. it has good online support on site for their customer. It is also good exchange where I can trust . I am feeling safe there Smiley

Did you read about that guy recently who sent 800 BTC to an MT Gox address? Crazy stuff. You'd think someone would take a little bit more care when sending that amount of money.... Undecided

Really? I didn't know that...

EDIT: I found the story with google. Tongue
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/273vi2/if_you_just_received_800_bitcoin_out_of_the_blue

Yeah, that's why I tell newbies that time better spent would be familiarizing themselves with blockchain and wallet uses rather than chasing 10k satoshi at a faucet.

What the hell...He sent 800 btc (about $380,000) to an address that he didn't even know what it was...

You would be surprised how many times people have sent coins to the wrong place because they only look at the 1st 2 or 3 digits, or only the last 2 or 3.

Addresses are to be copy-paste, NOT typed in. Hand typing is always error prone.

Copy/Paste doesn't fix the issue if you select the wrong thing to copy, or if you think you hit Ctrl-C and you end up hitting CTRL-X or something.  This was the discussion of the forums back in 2011 when the coins went from $1 to $30, people were killing themselves (figuratively) for losing thousands of BTC then!

That's true. But, I would expect them to double and triple check the address before pushing the "send" button, especially when they are making such a huge tx.

Huge is a relative word Wink
