As a beginner it's better to invest in good quality projects that have established themselves in the marketplace and have clear prospects for long term growth regardless of all the pump and dumps you'll see around the place as those will likely be too difficult to profit from so just focus on constructing a well balanced portfolio and you'll likely make decent returns within a year or two

This is a very bad idea to ask the opinion of complete strangers about where you should invest. Study the material on the topic, and ask questions about obscure nuances. This approach will be much more productive.
actually not so bad. when you are someone who just knows crypto you don't have good experience to choose assets for your investment. and I think I need advice and analysis from other people for my consideration in determining my investment.
If a person does not know how (does not want) to study projects on their own and on the basis of his analysis to make an informed choice that he has nothing to do in this area!

Asking about this give others perspective about the coin we want to invest. Its like collecting more information about coin we want to invest or collecting information about good coin. Sometime people just want to collect information to his analysis or strategy

Bitcoin is one of the easiest to buy cryptocurrency. If you plan to buy a coin, buy Bitcoin. But don't forget to learn the risks. After that, you can buy and decide. Because I only give advice and don't force you to buy Bitcoin.
Investing in Bitcoin will certainly be profitable in the long term. If he is not confident when investing in bitcoin, he will certainly not be able to buy other altcoin because its risk is too high and he can lose money at any time.

I would stick with some of the already established coins such as Ethereum, NEO, EOS, XRP and perhaps ADA. There are few question marks over whether these coins will recover a good portion of their previous values and they are less risky than some of the untested recent ICO coins.

Are you going to trade or hodl? If you want to buy tokens and hodl as every coin's price is low now, then Buy ETH, NEO, ADA, NPXS, XRP, BNB, EOS token and keep them hodl. But, If you have intention in trading then I would recommend you don't go for that as you are a newbie. Try to learn first and practice, after then you are welcome in trading. Good Luck

Because it was playing a very important role. The fundamental can change instantly and we must study the benefits and the risk from each coin. that will bring us to a lot of benefit with fewer risks. it's our responsibility

I really think you should try to  get a whole bitcoins first, before anything else, $2000 would get you more than 0.5 Bitcoins. Buying bitcoins are an investment where you only need to take good care of your private keys.
Starting to invest into altcoins can be very risky, you will most likely start buying into a coins that has greens days, just see the coins falling the next day.
Right now my portfolio are 80% into bitcoins rest into altcoins.

Thats amount  okay for a newbie trader since you don't have the knowledge the safest way to invest is bitcoin and ethereum. For bearish you can assure your investment but in long term I think and watch the fluctuation in the market in CMC. Others coins is okay also but you need to gain experience first to play in a profitable way.

I will suggest buying coins that are among top 100 becausec it is relatively cheaper. Any downward movement for alts in top 100 will definitely bounce back.

As a beginner who is yet to know how to research for new projects PR coins that can be invested in, it would better better you invest in an already established coin, such as those on position 1-10.
Although, the best option in my opinion is that such person should learn how to select good coins through quality and assured research method.

Dash is one of the best coins in the top 10 in the coinmarketcap, maybe you can start the investment. I see the potential for a fairly high price increase will be possible against Dash, but of course it will also be determined by the increase in Bitcoin followed by Ethereum. So you should start by buying a bit of Bitcoin then some Ethereum, then buy Dash as much as you can buy, maybe in the future you will get very good results with big profits through these three coins.

Split them among top 10 crypto currencies on coinmarketcap. This is the best way of how to protect yourself from losing the whole portfolio. The more quality coins, the better will your portfolio look even at the falling market.
Diversifying the portfolio will minimize risks but possible rewards will be also minimum in this case. Better to make a small portfolio with top 100 coin with marketcap and holding till bull market. Investing to good projects also help to grow balance after end of current blood bath.

judging by the recent dynamics of growth and decline, I would choose Litecoin, ripples and Ethereum. They coins will make a leap of growth with a 100% guarantee. Still of course Bitcoin which is sure to grow
are you as sure as it was to see the enormous growth to 100%. It might just happen, but are you already estimate the time you spend waiting for the increase?

You should just buy Bitcoin, it is far much better than any other coin in the market.
There are good altcoins too, but bitcoin should be your first choice, cause altcoins might disappoint you in a big way.

But, if it’s Bitcoin, even if the price falls, there is still hope that it is going to rise up again. It has happened many times, the price has gotten down and still got back up. Just invest in it for long term, especially now the price is down, cause this might be the bottom price.

Assuming you studied, prepared and understood the basics of this market! It's hard for anyone to point out to you what to buy! These decisions must be made by yourself. Anyway, try to find projects that can take back the appreciation of some time ago! Projects that continue with their strong and active development! For example, I do not own LTC and I have no intention, but it is an example. There are countless others as well.
This should be learned and followed, you are the one who needs to create your own directions inside this field, no one can really point you to the right coins to invest your money, it will comes out from your knowledge and your own assessment, you should not base your investment with someone else opinion but it should base from your analysis and observations.
